Recent Review: 1.  Dion showed us a brochure from GW Trapp Company, but the door that was installed was from Fox Weldoor.  He pulled the same thing with a neighbor across the street, and another 4 houses down in my new home community.  My neighbor across the street refuses to order from him now, and the neighbor 4 houses down cancelled the lay away deposit check they gave him that day after to talking to us about what we have gone through. 2.  We paid for the door IN FULL.  We were told that it would get there in 2-3 weeks.  We ordered the door on June 1, 2014, and the door wasn't installed until middle to end of July 2014!! 3.  The door was not installed by Dion himself, but a 3rd party general contractor.  The contractor was supposed to be at our house between 6-8 pm on the Friday it was installed.  He didn't show up until 9:30 pm - we were at our neighbor's house across the street waiting for him to show up... 4.  The door was the WRONG DOOR!!  We called Dion the next day (Saturday after it was installed) to ask why this happened, and why we were given the wrong door.  Dion came up with the excuse that he is no longer doing business with GW Trapp Company, that GW Trapp was being bought out by Fox Weldoor,  and that he will have Fox Weldoor custom make the door we really wanted. 5.  When threatening him to call back with the option of giving us our money back and taking the door back, giving us half off the door that we didn't order, or getting us the door we want, he finally called back a little belligerent.  I explained to him that we can go to the BBB or small claims and settle this.  He told me that me that he would make things right and get us the door we wanted, even it it had to be custom made, at NO additional cost to us.  I told him that to honor his agreement to make things right, he would have to call us every week with a status update on the build of the new door.  He called and left a message on Friday, August 15 with an update that it was being built, but we haven't heard from him since. 6.  The contact information in this posting on Angie's List is WRONG.  He is not at that address per the order form he filled out and gave to us. 7.  We have told the sales agent for our community about his bad dealings, and she is notifying other residents to steer clear of him.  If he tells you that he knows the sales agents, don't believe him!!  He doesn't know any of the sales agents in our new home community... 8.  He works for DirectTV, and does this job on the side.  This is not a full-time business for him.  When you call him, it will either go to voicemail, or to this "answering service".  We figured since he works for DirectTV, he must be an upstanding guy.  Not the case, it seems.

Recent Review: You simply cannot beat the price and service that Garage Doors & More of the Piedmont provides.  There is a reason this business continues to have good ratings.   My personal experience with them was extremely positive.  I was in the market for a new insulated garage door to replace my 11 year old uninsulated Wayne Dalton door that experienced spring failures and it was finally time to replace it.   Unfortunately the cost to replace the springs is almost 45-50% of the cost of a new insulated door.  I contacted 4 different Garage Door installers and they were all pricing insulated doors with ratings higher than R9 between $1200 and $1600.   Garage Doors & More was the only installer that offered a great Haas door for less than $900 installed. The door offered was the Haas 600 series with a calculated rating of R13.45.   Setting up the purchase and scheduling the install was a breeze.  The service technician that installed the door was very professional, curteous and experienced.  He had no trouble taking down the old door and installing the new.  For the price offered and the service provided this was a great experience.  Highly recommend this business for any future garage door service you may have.

Recent Review: This company did a great job with our new door install. The technician named Daniel was very knowledgeable and efficient. After the job was complete, the site was cleaned of all trash and packing material. Daniel was good at explaining all the options for our wireless door opener. I would recommend this company to anyone.

Recent Review: Ken is very professional and trustworthy.  He did a very good job for us and although he was busy and thought it would be a month out before he could complete the install, I asked if he could at least do the 3 keyed entries sooner since we had just moved into a new house and still using the previous owner's keys.  Ken was very understanding and came out within a day to install the 3 keyed entries first.  We were very appreciative.  It was a deal on Angie's List that we had purchased and we found that it was well worth the money.

Recent Review: On 12/10/2014 my garage slammed to the ground after a part (unknown to me) broke.  I searched Angie's List for numerous repair companies and settled on another company.  On 12/11/2014 I called the other company early in the morning, leaving a message.  After waiting 4hrs and not getting a return call I searched Angie's List again.  I reviewed other company information and settled on Overhead Door Co of Charlotte because they don't use subcontracters and perform background checks/drug tests on their employees.  Their website was easy to navigate as well (I felt like all of my questions about the company were answered on the DoorWow site).  I called to set a service appointment and the gentleman on the telephone was polite, even suggesting possible problems with the door.  He told me that between 3 and 5 PM that afternoon, I would get a call with my appointment time for the next door.  I was even able to request an afternoon appointment so I didn't have to rearrange my entire day.  The appointment confirmation call came about 4:15 (between the set times).  This gentleman was very polite as well, and gave me the afternoon appointment I requested.  The appointment window was set for 12 to 4 PM.  On 12/12/14 Jesse called about 15 minutes before he arrived to let me know he was on the way (about 2:15PM).  He arrived promptly in an offically marked van.  He was in a uniform that matched the van logo and his name was visible on his uniform.  He looked put together and professional.  He was very polite.   He explained the initial service fee before starting any reviews.  He reviewed the door, opener and the problems I described.  Prior to making any repairs he explained each repair, showed me needed repair, showed me the new peice and told me the price of that repair.  At no time did I feel any pressure to make the suggested the repair and I didn't experience any attempts to 'upsale' me on anything.  Jesse worked consistently for about an hour and didn't waste any extra time.  After he finished the repairs he reviewed with me all the work he completed.  He reviewed the serivce order/receipt with me at the time of payment.  He cleaned up, leaving no trace of the repairs on the garage floor.  He got my garage door working again and repaired broken parts to prevent future failures.  I had read that Overhead Door was a little on the pricey side.  I don't have any experience with these repairs before, but believe that I got exactly what I paid for.  I have learned that cheaper isn't always better.  This was a painless experience and I know that I'll use the Overhead Door Co of Charlotte for any future garage door work I need.

Recent Review: It was wonderful interacting and working with Rock Hill Glass. The salesperson explained every aspect of the glass process and made me a well informed consumer who was happy to do business with this company. When the special order glass arrived, the service men showed-up at the expected time, were extremely polite and well groomed, and the work was done quickly and professionally. This is a small glass company (with a big heart) that takes great pride in their work. I would wholeheartedly recommend this company to anyone needing any type of residential glass work!

AUpdates By Nate Handyman Service LLC
If you stop to check another provider in this category, you're wasting your time. Nate is the guy you want. On-time (I was actually a few minutes late), organized, knowledgeable, personable, creative...there is no reason to use anyone else. If the job is in his wheelhouse (and he'll tell you if it is), then give him the assignment, stand back, and prepare to be pleased. Remember, I told you up front that you're wasting your time viewing any other provider's listing. This is the guy you want.

AHandyman At Hand
It went well. Both guys were very nice and knowledgable on repairing things. They worked extremely fast and efficient. However, as the guys were leaving the owner informed us that we owed additional payment because they exceeded the purchased time. We paid for 8 hours (all day) of time, but wasn't aware that it was actually 4 hours because there were two men working. That could have been stated better. We were thinking of things for them to do because we thought they would be here for 8 full hours. Wrong. Overall, it was a good experience and my Honey-do list got done.

I figured the jobs were too small based on his work but Josh was ready to help. He took pride in the work and took the time to explain my options then did a fantastic job. I will definitely use Josh again for future projects.

AEager Beaver Handyman Service
This was my first time using a handyman so I was very nervous. I had my list (which is important). Shane explained the process in more detail, and I felt more comfortable with what was going to happen. After working for a couple of hours, the handyman stopped at a certain point, and we both went to the nearest home improvement store to pick up supplies. I got there before he did and started shopping. The handyman easily found me when he arrived, and we obtained the rest of the supplies. He followed me back to my home, since I knew the shortcut home. However, he had another client scheduled and needed to leave early. I still have an hour and will need to schedule another visit and time. Shane was great confirming this, and customer service is an A++.

They have, apparently, 11 men who work for them. Some are fast and competent. Some are slow and competent. Some are slow and not so competent. Each time a different person came, and each time they didn't know what the previous person had done or been told. They were all extremely nice, very pleasant, agreeable, but this job ended up taking 22 hours to complete. Part of that was our fault, because we had ordered the wrong door from a home improvement store. But part of it was that their workers were slow, and some of them not terribly skilled. They knocked 5 hours off the bill as a courtesy, but we still ended up paying $120 for the first job and $750 to install a $180 door.

ACLARK HALL DOORS
They did an excellent job. It was a hand made steel door with custom made glass. The door is heavy and it took over a half a day to rip out the old door and to get the new one installed. We paid a lot for it but we love the door. It is beautiful and we would hire them again.

Eager Beavers did the following: Demolished old deck and built new one. Pressure painted house. Replaced crawlspace door. Painted all wood trim. Removed old sliding glass door to replace with new French door. Discovered rotted joists under old door, so took extra time to replace with new wood. Installed new French door and painted it. The crew was friendly, professional, and knew exactly what they were doing. They were at my house several days and always showed up on time. They made sure everything was up to code and that I was satisfied before they left. I will definitely use them again in the future.
