Recent Review: I hardly know where to start. Within a week after they and quot;completed installationand quot; and were paid infull last February, the house was cold and dank. I called Covert Aire and they sent a guy who found that the fan in the dehumidifier was wired to run in reverse. The house still didn't seem right. Another guy came and said that the wires in the fan of the air-handler had become unloosed, fan was not running at all, and the coils were frozen. He had us turn the heat on to unfreeze coils in May. When the weather warmed up in May, the living-dining room areas were 70 degrees, the bedrooms, kitchen were 76 degrees. Some rooms were getting no air at all. When I asked Covert to check it out and got e-mails from Mike Covert, the owner, insinuating that my house was so substandard that I shouldn't expect it to be warm or cold that my house was unfit for heating and cooling. He said he had and quot;pictures and documentationand quot; that our house was didn't have roofing or ceilings. Between March 1 and May 1 weather here is pretty perfect and neither heat nor air run at all. Which is why, as an asthmatic, I spent the extra $1,500.00 on a whole -house Aprilaire dehumidifier. The dehumidifier, which was installed by Covert in February has never worked. Covert Aire acknowlegdes this, Aprilaire acknowledges this, In June, Mike Covert, the owner, said they were sending a tech from Aprilaire to come to our house to fix our dehumidifier. On the day the tech was to come, we got a call from Covert saying that the Aprilaire tech didn't show up and they'd re-schedule. I was furious and called Covert Aire. I got Mike, the owner and he gave me a long lecture about how things have to happen, first of all the Aprilaire tech from Ralieigh, NC didn't show up, yada yada yada. But then, Covert Aire came with an Amana Rep, which resulted in a two day reconfiguration of our whole system, at NO COST TO US! This reconfiguration fixed all! Dehumidifier still did not work right, so... I called Aprilaire, and my husband worked with a service rep to get deHumidifier working. Now everything is working, and we are happy. Rough road for awhile, now it's smooth!
