Recent Review: Fantastic!  Scott and his team were thorough and courteous before, during, and after the install.  They were fast and efficient.  We couldn't be more pleased.  We are anxious to see the savings in our monthly bills as the system they installed should greatly reduce heating, A/C, and water heater electricity costs.

Recent Review: Ted took a personal interest in the project from beginning to end. He was knowable on the unit and honest about what would make the most sense at the best price. Other competitor only offer one option and were not forthcoming on details like delivery time of the unit. Ted was accurate on the delivery of the unit and installed the unit immediately. His crew was pleasant to deal with and knowable about what needed to be done. We had a small leak problem with a pipe and Ted came on Sunday and fixed it. I have now designated him as my heating and a/c go to company. We were pleased with the process and would highly recommend him.

I called them, and in a few days their rep called me back. We made an appointment for the next week. He came late, with a notepad and calculator. He appeared to know less than me about geothermal heat pumps. After looking at the plans for our house and looking at the back yard, he said "about $35,000", which was twice the actual quote I got from another company. Still I requested a quote for a geothermal system and a conventional air heat pump. I didn't hear from McGee again.

I called up Waldrop to get a quote on a new ground loop for our geothermal heating system.  Understandably they wanted to make sure that the system really did need a new larger ground loop.  The company suggested that we check the system to make sure it is functioning properly.  I agreed.  The service technician came in and did not bring all the gages he needed for both freon types that we have for two different heat pump units.  He had to come back a week later and charged us for two service calls and did not find anything wrong.  The Service technician agreed that our current ground loop was inadequate and needed to be expanded.  We had to pay for 2 service calls because the repairman was not properly prepared for the job.  I called four times to get the quote for the ground loop expansion and never got a response.  Pretty sneaky way to turn a free quote into 2 service calls.

You need lower ratings;  Z or X would be more accurate. They were supposed to do an analysis of the ductwork that they were replacing. The loop and furnace appear to be acceptable However, they didn't finish the ductwork; the boots that connect the ducts to the registers were not insulated.  Bare metal was exposed as a result on all the boots.  One boot was not even connected to the duct.   This resulted in sweating on those surfaces, and all the insulation covering the ducts had water inside.  Our house has pine flooring, some of it 85 years old.  The floors were damaged and mold grew under most of the house underneath and even on some windows.  Discoloration appeared around most of the floor around the registers.  When we confronted the owner, he said this was our fault as we didn't clean the filter or call them for maintenance (six months).  He further said that the company had tried to contact us, but we didn't receive any message from them.  Furthermore, the  thermostat has messages about the maintenance dates and we cleaned  the filter when so instructed.  Additionally, about two weeks after our meeting with the owner, a message came up on our thermostat stating that it was time for our 6 month maintenance.  We were instructed when the furnace was installed to monitor the thermostat display for such messages.  We are hiring another company to redo the ductwork and remove the mold (around 8000.00 dollars). This was a very stressful experience.  Do not use these crooks.,

Starting with their sales team on to their install and maintenance teams they provided excellent service all the way through the project. Some of the work was done while we were away and they provided pictures of the work as they progressed. The equipment they installed was top notch along with their excellent recommendations and support. They decided half way through the project that I would be better off with the next level up Waterfurnace and they provided this to me at no additional cost. They performed followup calls to make sure everything was going OK and their alert system notified them that there might be a glitch and they called to schedule a visit to take a look but all was OK once they checked it out. They even provided a followup survey a few months after the install to make sure I was satisfied with their service.

They're expensive, they really are. I believe that Carolina Heating & Air thinks that they're going to sell me my next air conditioner, but I've got news for them, they're not. I actually purchased a whole house generator from them about four years ago. That thing, wasn't cheap. I signed up for a maintenance agreement for them to come out and service it last year and if I had to have any repairs, they would knock so much off. But they are very, very expensive. So when it comes time to get me a new air conditioner, it's not going to be purchased through Carolina Heating & Air. They are so expensive and they're expanding out into Geothermal stuff and solar stuff. You know what happens when companies expand, the service in other areas start to get slack. It hasn't yet, but I see it coming in the future. They just get too big for their britches, they really do. I was pleased with them, they've got one technician that I ask for every time. He is efficient, he is amenable, he gets the job done and I like him. That's the one I ask for. As a matter of fact, I schedule my appointments around him. If he can't see me, then unless there is an emergency, I just wait until he has an opening in my area. That's how much I like that one technician. It's $500 a year, for the generator and the heating and air conditioning agreement. It's kind of pricey, but you're supposed to get priority service over people who don't have it. I really like that they call you and let you know that they're on their way out. If something should happen and they can't make it in the time frame, they will call you. I really like that. Old folks like stuff like that. Younger folks like it too for that matter because time is very valuable to younger folks.
