Recent Review: In 2011, we decided to replace our ground level patio with a walk out deck. We hired a contractor who demolished the old patio and installed a new deck that ran the whole length of the back of the house.   A portion of the of deck had a drainage system installed underneath so we could eventually put a screened in porch under that section of the deck.  Within a year the decking started warping and the section that was over the future screened-in porch began leaking.  We called the original contractor.  After he saw the problem with the decking, he called the manufacturer to come out and look at it.  They agreed it was an issue with the decking and agreed to a free upgrade in materials.  New product was delivered and installed by our original contractor.  After a year, the deck started warping again.  It still leaked.  Called the original contractor.  He brought a rep with him from the manufacturer.  We learned they had put the original quality of product on it the second time - only in a different color - no upgrade.  We started another warranty claim with the manufacturer and started to shop around for a new contractor.  David came out and looked at the deck.  He had contacts at the manufacturer and took the lead in getting the warranty through all the channels.  He put forth a lot of effort getting us a fair settlement from the company.  Once the warranty claim was completed and we had a check in hand, we picked out new decking.  David's crew did an excellent job installing the deck.  They did a lot of work repairing the drainage system that was installed by the original contractor but because the drainage system wasn't initially installed properly, we were warned that there could still be leaks but we took a chance.  Almost a year later, and the deck still looks great.   A couple of small leaks have developed but we knew it was a gamble when we didn't replace it.  When we are ready to screen in the porch, we will call David to replace the drainage system.  I wouldn't hesitate to call David again.  He did an outstanding job and went way beyond the call of duty.

Scott Sullivan the owner was the only one putting together my deck. He was neatly dressed even though it was hot. His details were finely appropriate. I still use him on my next project to build a ramp for my wheel chair. He is very much demand, sometimes you have to call him more than once for him to come out and give an estimate. Also would suggest a start and stop date.

We are very happy with our new deck built by deckmasters.  David Elenbaum designed a new deck to provide our family an outdoor living space.  They started from the ground up, the quality is outstanding!  We now have a deck that is double the size with a pergola over 1/2 of the new deck, giving us an eating area and a sitting area.  They were very professional to deal with.

AA.B.W. Construction
After several very disapointing and expensive experiences, your office called me on the phone by coincidence to ask if I had recently hired any contractors to do work around my house, if so, would I like to share my experiences. She called at the right time as I asked if she would send me the names of some contractors and their ratings which she did. I selected A.B.W. Construction to privide me with a cost which appeared reasonable. It included picking up the pieces left by a previous contractor who started and left my project after I paid him leaving my deck basically without a walking surface for 16 months.. I contracted with A.B.W. and they did the work. I was very happy to find a contractor who did what he said he was going to do, and without any adds to the cost. I spent over 45 years in the construction business before retiring. I belive that I know good work when I see it. It is my opinion that the work by A.B.W. on my deck of almost 1,000 SF is the definition of "GOOD VALUE". Jack Parillo

It started when I sat down and called 16 local builders in the Upstate (SC) area for bids on building my wife and I a deck, only 6 returned my calls or answered the phone. Carrie (Owner) was professional and very helpful and took down all our info with the promise to get back to me within a day or so. She responded back on time and had options for us also. I am still waiting on a bid back from contractor #3, and 3 of the other 4 didn't get back to me until the deck was already completed. Once we figured out we were going to use DG Builders I realized it needed to be done within a couple weeks as I was leaving the state for work. David jumped on it and had his crew out and starting within a week. Even with rain and cool 30 degree days David and his crew hit it hard and had the deck completed in a couple days. Very family oriented, professional, honest company and an awesome crew of guys doing fantastic accurate craftsmanship. The deck exceeded all our expectations and I'm glad to say my wife and I enjoyed making a few new friends in the process. The price was right (ended up not being the cheapest but by far the best quality and best customer service I could have asked for), and everything David told me was spot on. I would recommend DG Builders for any of your building needs.

Mike is great to work with.  Very knowledgeable and great at what he does.  His guys removed old decking boards and screen porch.  installed T&G decking and eze breeze windows and enclosed the room.  He also installed a small deck outside the room and built some great steps.  All T&G and decking were composite type from Azek and top quality.  Great PVC hand rails and attn to all details.  Hated to move and leave all that behind.  Will definitly use Mike again.  Highly recommend.

We contracted with Deckmasters to replace an old deck and build an additional, new deck on our house.  They were very responsive and professional throughout the contract process and were able to start work almost immediately after we agreed on the scope of the project.  The crew that was assigned to our project arrived on time daily and worked consistently throughout the day.  Their workmanship and attention to detail was well beyond our expectations the the finished decks were built to a very, very high standard.  Deckmasters may not be the cheapest deck contractor but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for.  We would recommend Deckmasters without hesitation and will use them again if the need arises.

The Deckmasters quote was competitive with the other bids we received and we were most impressed with their knowledge, experience and professionalism. Deckmasters was very willing to work with us on the design and materials for our new deck. They took care of permits and inspections and stayed on schedule. The workers were polite, hardworking and cleaned up the job site each night. The new deck is beautiful! It is solid as a rock and has extra reinforcement for the hot tub. It turned out to be even nicer than we hoped for and Deckmasters exceeded our expectations.

I love the work that was performed! I initially wanted a composite wood deck but after talking with David he convinced me of a stamped patio. I am so pleased withe the final product. I am extremely happy with the stamping!

CCertaPro Painters® of Greenville East
Per Behr, the paint manufacturer's printed directions, and my phone conversation with Behr's technical assistance dept, I directed CertaPro Painters to back brush the paint on the bare, pressure treated, kiln-dried surface. My directions were ignored after several follow -up e-mails to revise their contract as presented to me. Before the contract was presented to me and before an estimate was presented, I personally instructed CertaPro to "back brush" the paint AFTER applying the paint with a spray OR roller. However, after the paint was first applied with a spray gun, CertaPro began to use a roller. I firmly objected and instructed them to "back brush" per Behr's instructions. The field rep for Behr was on the job and told the painter to roll it on against my objections. The paint job was completed with spray and roller, NOT according to Behr's recommended application. I understand that CertaPro saved time doing it their, but it was not to the standard that I expected nor paid for. Bottom line is I believe I received an inferior paint job.
