Recent Review: Beautiful product, good prices. Only issue was a delay in shipping of several weeks due to inventory. This delay caused issues with scheduling on a whole-house renovation and it would have been quite useful to know about upfront, rather than having to call them repeatedly for updates. When the flooring finally arrived, weeks late, it was beautiful and in very good shape. I would use them again, but I would order much earlier than needed to allow for any delays.

Recent Review: James Newsome and The Carpet Shop are the models for professionalism and customer care not only in their arena of expertise but for any business. The definition of customer care and professionalism should include James and his company. We built our home in 2011 and unfortunately due to what appears to be a mislabeling of the wood flooring product we originally purchased our original wood flooring was substandard. Over the next two years The Carpet Shop did their best to rectify the issue with the manufacturer however in the end the manufacturer was unwilling to compromise thereby resulting in an ongoing law suit between The Carpet Shop and the manufacturer. As soon as James and The Carpet Shop realized the manufacturer was not going to compromise to rectify the issue they took action to ensure we were no longer inconvenienced and performed the complete installation of a new wood floor (our choice). This included their paying for all associated costs and full credit from the original purchase. We only had to pay for the difference of the cost of the new flooring vice our original flooring. They did this with no guarantee of a successful resolution of their ongoing law suit with the manufacturer. Many companies state that they stand behind their products and reputation but unfortunately when taken to task, fail to perform. The Carpet Shop not only stands behind their products and reputation, they set the standard for all in business to aspire. If you are considering any type of flooring for your home or business, you would be very wise to select The Carpet Shop (now Merit Flooring) for all of your flooring needs. James Newsome and The Carpet Shop's customer care and professionalism are beyond reproach. Quite simply, they are the best of the best!

Recent Review: Doug and Mona were  very helpful. When we couldn't decide between, hardwood, bamboo or laminates, they explained all the options and gave us a very thorough explanation of the pros and cons of each choice. We had already done a good deal of research on flooring and their advice was perfect. They also worked with our painting contractor to coordinate work schedules so we could complete our move in a timely manner. After the installation they followed up with a personal, handwritten thank you card and with advice on cleaning and maintaining the flooring. Augusta Flooring was prompt and very professional. I would highly recommend them for any job.

Recent Review: They did an excellent job. This is the sixth time we've hired the Halls to do tile work for us.  The first time was three years ago when our entire kitchen floor had to be replaced due to a leak. The Halls did such a great job that when we wanted our guest bathroom remodeled, we hired them again. It was the best thing we could have done. The Halls are creative and experienced. They had numerous ideas that enhanced the bathroom (we had it completely tiled from floor to ceiling), as well as having the old bathtub removed and remodeled as a shower. They were able to order marble for us at a better price than anything we could find in town. The bathroom now looks like something in a five-star resort spa. We hired them to remove the ugly popcorn ceiling on the first floor of our house and replaced with the knockdown (not sure if this is the correct term, but it is done by putting the plaster on the ceiling, then pushing it up so that it creates a design). They did an outstanding job. We had a second leak in our kitchen and had to have the entire floor replaced, again. We told the contractor to hire the Halls.  Good thing because we were told that we wouldn't be able to get the same tile that we originally had by the previous contractor. When my wife told Davin, he came back two days later and told us he found the manufacturer and placed an order for the tiles. During that job, they noted our stairs still had carpeting on them (we had all of the floors done in wood). We had been told that to replace our stairs with wood, we would not have use of the stairs for two to three days. The Halls took all of the measurements and built the stairs before taking out the old ones. They did the job in one day. Then, we just hired them to remove the old tile in our bathroom and replace it, and to fix our shower.  The first person to tile our master bath shower did a poor job of it, causing a serious mold problem in the shower.  Instead of putting a water proof shower pan on the floor under the tile, he installed a mud bed.  Besides that, he made it too deep. The shower floor was never able to dry completely. Davin took out the old tile floor, completely cleaned the area and installed a shower pan and new tile.  The shower looks like it's brand new. On top of that, he was able to get a cleaner for the grout so we were able to removed all of the old mold that had seeped into the grout. They are excellent workers and perform the best job. I would hire them anytime, for any job, in the future.

Recent Review: Three flooring tech's arrived on scheduled date and time. They were very polite and professional, the gentlemen worked continuously approximately eight to ten hours and finished in two and half days. They first removed all of the old carpets on second floor including the stairs, then proceeded to laying padding prior to installing vinyl flooring. They also installed ceramic tile in the bathroom too. They worked from Wednesday to Friday and the results were excellent. I would definitely hire this company and flooring tech's again.

AJ C Skinner Flooring Co
gouges Mr. Skinner was punctual starting with the estimate he provided. He always called to make sure I was home and to keep me updated. He and Chris worked to first repair some rotten floor boards and then were able to sand/resurface the floors to get some gouges out. He stained the floors to match the dining room and put 2 coats of protective coating on. He also gave me sound advice for having them recoated in a couple of years if they got scratched. The floors look amazing and I thought the price he quoted was very reasonable. Lastly, he worked to accommodate my schedule and what worked best for me.

AA & D Carpets Inc & Hardwoods
I had just bought a town home and planned to rip out all the carpet and put hardwood flooring down throughout (except bathrooms).  I had gone to three different flooring stores and A&D provided me with the best education on wood flooring and took their time to ensure the products they introduced me to would fit my needs for both the short term and the long term.  The ordering process was easy, the installation was on time and went smoothly.  At the completion of the job, the technicians performed a walk through with me to see if I had any questions regarding the flooring job.  A&D Carpet and Hardwood Floors Inc. are courteous, very knowledgeable, very skilled and professional!   I would highly recommend them!

we recently used a bigger company to floor the majority of our house, after having used Kevin to finish the last two rooms we wish we had used him for all the work. We came across two snags in our project : there was unforeseen floor damage that needed new plywood and we were short on slate tiles that we had provided for the job. Kevin fixed both problems for and even spent half a day tracking down matching slate tile for us - all at just the cost of material, which was very generous since we had agreed to provide all necessary materials before work started. He was a lot more gentler on our house than the other flooring installer and left virtually no marks on the walls or baseboards. We would recommend him for flooring install rather than the company recommended by the flooring provider.

AAiken Flooring
This was my second experience with Aiken flooring, and like the first, much larger job, was well done.  The owners were very helpful in working with us on the flooring selection, price, and setting an installation date.  The installers arrived on time, and performed the work in an excellent manner.  Again, I would recommend this business to anyone needing flooring.

FGreene Phoenix Enterprises
Jimmy Greene was hired to repair three planks of damage, and somehow manage to damage twice the amount of area. He seemed under prepared and unable to actually do what was asked of him. When he went over his plan of action to repair my flooring, he suggested painting it because there's wood putty. Nothing was flushed, the planks were raised and damaged that he put in. And he smelled like he had been drinking when he returned to suggest his plan to fix his awful job. If I were to compare his work to anything, I would say it would be like going to Krystal Burger and the employee throwing the food on the floor and serving it to you then suggesting spitting on the burger to fix it all. 0/10. I hope he finds a new line of work.

AFloors 360
This is a small company that does tiles, other floor reconstruction and backsplashes. They are extremely good on their prices; they beat the price of other larger tile suppliers we checked in this area. They provide very helpful follow-up. For the prices and the quality of work I would highly recommend them.

AMaster Craft Flooring
They are definitely the best flooring company in Augusta. They do projects large and small. I have used them for four projects here as well. Master Craft and John McManus work hand-in-hand and take on a lot of projects together. They referred me to John McManus. They are just a great local family owned company that does flooring and that’s basically what they do. They do any churches, malls in town. They do marble work and granite tops as well. When I had the upstairs bathroom done they did the flooring project and so it was very hard to break the cost down because it was all contracted by John McManus. They had flooring in the half bathroom downstairs and also redid our fireplace inside the house. Everybody who comes and sees their work was just stunned. Other people that came in and did the tiling and flooring who ever see the work they said that it was a nice work. They are cost effective, family owned, hardworking and I would rate them excellent overall. I can’t just say enough about their work.
