Recent Review: The installer was on-time.  It took him about 4 hours to do the install.  However, the quality of his work was terrible.  He drilled into the door frame (as one would expect), but didn't clean up his mess.  To my own fault, I didn't go into the crawl space to check his work.  One would think they shouldn't have to, but this one time I let my guard down.  Unfortunately, I found out that I should have checked.  3 weeks after the install, I went into the crawl space to run cables on an unrelated project.  I found the alarm system cables were not mounted (fyi, you don't want cables hanging in a crawl space. Critters can eat them).  The horn for the alarm system was literally hanging from a cable, not mounted to anything.  I was very upset.  I contacted the owner of the company.  I took photos of the install and emailed them to him.  He was very apologetic about the install.  He sent the installer back to my home to fix his mistake. His excuse to me was that he didn't have the tools to complete the install. He said he had planned on returning. I didn't believe the excuse, as he could have mounted the horn with the same screw driver he used to mount the keypad to the wall.  Also, the day he completed the job, he made no mention of not completing the task.  Due to the nature of my install, I was given one quarter of free service.  Other than that one problem, Sonitrol has been pretty good.    I hope that my install was used as an example of how not to do a job.

Recent Review: They are not like national companies; they are a small family run business that provides a lot of personal attention. They were able to use our existing system with their service, which saved us a lot of money. They installed additional sensors and a portable keypad that we can move from room to room if needed for us as well. We are able to turn our alarm system on and off with our cell phones.

Recent Review: Barney did a great job with all the repairs, responded to me in a prompt manner, and even tried to help with a small carpet repair that came up while he was there.  He adjusted his original estimate down a bit after he was able to use a smaller piece and it took less time for one of the repairs than expected - I feel like this honesty unfortunately doesn't happen often.  He took pictures of the manual for the keypad he installed so that I would have a copy in case my tenants didn't save it.  I will definitely be calling him for future home repairs and definitely would recommend!

Very bad business practices. The techs will tell you one price, then charge you a higher price. Also, charged my credit card without my authorization! BEWARE!!!!

APrecision Garage Door Service
Technician arrived promptly (in fact he called and said he was running ahead of schedule and asked if he could come an hour early). He was personable and professional -- also quite knowledgeable. I had purchased a coupon on Angie's List for a tune-up and wireless keyboard installation for $100. We just purchased this home a few months ago and had no idea when these doors had last been serviced (if ever); the house is nearly 30 years old and the doors, though functional, are definitely older. The technician talked with me about the issues he found -- but he said at this point in time the doors are safe and functional. He did talk with me about what might have to be done in the future and gave me an idea of the cost to replace rollers, the operators, and the door itself, which I found very helpful. He did not pressure me in any way to do more than was needed at this time. Within an hour he had tuned up the doors, installed the wireless keypad, and programmed the keypad and a new remote control. (The remote control was the only additional service I requested at an additional cost of $53.). I was very impressed with Precision and plan to use them for all of our garage door issues in the future.

FNailed It! Home Repairs, LLC
This company has the worst ethics and business practices I have experienced for a contractor. I contacted them about having my front door replaced and was quoted $200-250 for the slab, installing all of the hardware, and caulking around the door. When I received the written quote, it changed to $250-300, depending on the ease of the job. I agreed that was fair and he commenced work. He completely screwed up the framing of my door, didn't install the strike plates, the door wouldn't latch, there was a huge gap at the bottom and it caught at the top before it would close. No caulking was done. He had no idea how to install an electronic lock, so I had to walk him through it. I asked how much it would be to change the numbers on the front of my house and he grumbled about it. He broke a mount for the numbers and didn't tell me. I told him I didn't mind paying for quality work. When he was finished, he demanded payment before I had a chance to look over anything and asked if I 'had it' in reference to cleaning up after him. After contacting him about coming to fix the work, he said that it would be a service call and that I would be charged for the work he should have done in the first place. DO NOT use this company for anything!!
