Recent Review: I was very satisfied. The inspection was thorough and helpful feedback was provided. I most definitely would want Charleston Electric to come out in subsequent months to install and/or repair outdoor light fixtures. They know their business!

If you are interested in how Audio Advice products and services can enhance your home and your life, please check here about how to work with us. Our History- Audio Advice turned 34 years old in 2012. Here is a brief overview of some of our changes and a look at where we are now for our long time friends and first time visitors. A Service Emphasis- For 34 years Audio Advice has served our clients as both a retailer and custom systems installer. Leon Shaw founded Audio Advice in 1978, and grew the company to be renowned in the Carolinas for high performance audio. His passion for great sound and video has fueled our growth as the leading provider of home entertainment systems in the Carolinas and gained access to the finest products and brands worldwide. From the beginning, Leon’s focus on customer service has set Audio Advice apart. Today as Chairman of the Board, Leon continues to place a top priority on great customer service, and has learned techniques from a variety of sources. He attended the Walt Disney School of Customer Service twice, each time bringing back ideas to help improve customer relations. “It can be as simple as bringing a lunch to a client at their home],” he says. Or it can be something more complex, and even more remarkable to the customer. “We had a client whose system went down during a lightning storm with guests at his house,” recalls Leon. “We were able to dial into his system while we were on the phone with him and correct the problem instantly.” A Systems Approach Adding additional expertise is Leon’s partner, Scott Newnam, company President and CEO. Prior to joining Audio Advice, Scott was CEO of a multi-million dollar software company that sold interactive technology to television networks and cable and satellite companies. His company won an Emmy Award for their technology work on DirecTV’s NFL Sunday Ticket. With a Harvard Business School background and experience leading his own software company, Scott brought Audio Advice unmatched experience in system building and delivery. A passionate consumer himself of home entertainment and home automation systems, Scott has led the Audio Advice initiative in designing and delivering music distribution and home automation systems. Our most notable development is our flagship Signature Series home automation system. It’s designed to be the best of its kind and has been featured in numerous publications. Scott started focus groups to learn exactly what people wanted in a home control system. Every single new version of our Signature Series goes through hundreds of hours of beta testing by Scott in his own home to make sure its perfect before we release it. You can read more about our Signature system in our blog: Audio Advice Signature System Scott also provides systems orientation to Audio Advice service principles. This approach is demonstrated in the Audio Advice facilities including a mini-home area integrated with our products, three system design conference rooms, and a high tech staging area for testing systems before they leave the facility. Before joining Audio Advice, Scott surveyed retail and installation businesses, concluding: “Customers want you in and out of their homes quickly,” noting that this is something companies often overlook. “Integrating and testing the product before it leaves your facility allows you to get in and out of a customer’s home more quickly with less opportunity for error. Ultimately this provides a better product and better experience for the customer.”

Recent Review: Kevin took about 6 weeks on weekends to get the job done and did an excellent job on 90 percent of the job. Had a zone that was missed in the original quote(our fault) and a problem with one of the installed lights. Kevin came right out, took the faulty light out quoted the new zone and took an advance deposit for the equipment needed to do the new zone. After several texts promising to be here next weekend to finish, it had now been a month and he has gone silent. Asked him to come back and fix or give us the equipment he purchased to allow us to have someone else to do it. No response to calls or texts in the last 3 weeks. Sorry he did not finish the job. So close.

Reviews in Cross for Installing Outdoor Lighting

ARafael Gonzalez
He arrived on time, reviewed the lighting that needed to be added and/or modified and then performed the work to complete the task. He was courteous, professional and we were pleased with the work that he did.  He had installed lighting for our gazebo a year earlier and we were happy with that work also.

FSteves Service
I first made contact through Angie's list on Feb 18th. Steve came out and I explained the work that I wanted done. The number one priority was to replace ALL of the cloth covered wiring in the approximately 60 year old house because of the safety concerns. He agreed and said he would put together an estimate. On Mar 15, I emailed Steve and asked if he had been able to finish the proposal. I received it 3 days later. The proposal was for $1675. At that time, I questioned the point that the proposal stated to run new wiring from the breaker box to the junction boxes and it did not specify replacing the wiring to the outlets and switches. I was told not to worry about it, it would be done. Steve stated that he could rewire the whole house in 3 days but didn't need 3 because part of it had already been done.  The work was finally started on April 20th. After 2 weeks of him working on the house, Steve stated that he had completed the wiring work in the house, ran power to the shed, and had started troubleshooting the non-working lights on the driveway and carport. That Friday, I told Steve that I lost my job and would not be able to continue with the work.  So, the bill went from an estimated $1675 to $2933 and the estimated time went from 2-3 days to two weeks. Here's the kicker... I still have cloth covered wiring in my house. I just went up in the attic to install insulation and I'm still finding old wiring.  Steve is a very pleasant person and I realize that the original price was just an estimate, but if someone hires you, you should do the job you are hired to do... in the timeframe you agree to... and at the price you agree to.

AByrd's Electric Service
Gus Byrd came out the day after we called to look at the job. He made an appointment for a few days later. He showed up on time, did all the work and charged a reasonable price. We have asked him to do the electrical work in our new barn too. We are very satisfied.

AHUNTER ELECTRICAL SVC
Providers were professional, courteous and personable. They came when they said they would. We inquired about having a job done and they told us that we really didn't need that and we would just be wasting our money. They could have done it, taken our money and we would not have been the wiser.. We did extensive remodeling at our home and this definitely was one of the more pleasant experiences.

AH & H ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS LLC
Showed up at about 7:30 in the Morning because it was a Monday. C4.0 Cables were run from our house through exiting pipes underground 200 feet to our detached building. They replaced the pipe at the outside of the building to go directly to the service box.  I already had a older type service panel that they need to use. All the wires had been run previously. These wire had been detached and the service box had been taken.  Some of the wire had been cut short of the box. They fixed the short wires and hooked up all the circuits quickly.  Quoted$900.00 because of the cable and time. Hooking up the panel went great. Panel controlled 15 circuits. Two circuits were 8' florescent lights in two rows of circuits. Lights in one circuit did not light at all. They couldn't have that. A Manager told an employee to replace a ballast in one of  the light bank to make sure the bank worked. After he replaced the ballist It worked. Some of the conduit from our air conditioner to our out building had come loose. They dug right in and corrected the situation. They wanted to leave knowing everything was correct. I felt if there were any more problems they would have gone out of their way to fix them. Greatest thing about this transaction was they had Quoted $900.00 for the job. We were only billed $600.00. It has been two moneys and we have had no complaints.

AProgress Energy Inc
My mother is 70 years old and I had it put up for her.  They had a payment, installment plan.  My bill gets to me at the same time every month.  If I have any issues or power outage, they are very informative about telling me how long it will take to fix it.  When our power was off due to ice, they told me when the technician would be there, he broke the ice off the power lines, I don't know if the company told him to do that or he did it himself, but it was really cold that day, and he stayed up there, cleaned off the ice on the lines, and looked like a little Eskimo.  I give them high ratings and will continue to use them in the future.

AAaric's Irrigation and Sod Works
They came in and went thru each zone head by head. Identified the few leaking heads and replaced them. I'm very satisfied with the work that they did and the price that I was charged EDIT* They came out and did another job for us to put in landscape lighting. It went just as well as the first job. I would recommend them to anyone else.
