Recent Review: Shepherd Fence installed fencing on two sides of our yard.  We already had a fence in back.  Louis Bass, owner of Shepherd, met with us for an estimate and reviewed the entire area where the fencing was to be installed.  Decisions were made as to how much vegetation had to be removed and where the fence line would go around trees, as our nice neighbors were splitting the cost of one side of the fence with us.  Louis described what materials would be used and what the fence would look like.   He and his crew showed up on time and consulted with us during the installation regarding any problems.  Two different fence types were installed, as one side of the yard had a partial dog ear fence that was still good and this was extended.  Now you cannot tell that it was not part of the original dog ear fence.  The other side, where the cost of split with our neighbors, had a lovely solid fence with trim and caps installed.  Both fences look great.  The crew removed any vegetation that was in the way and and cleaned up when they were done.  The work was done efficiently, professionally and at a reasonable cost.  We are very pleased with this company and would recommend them.

Recent Review: Outstanding in every way. But the important thing that sets Dave and his professional crew apart is that he cares to do the job right the first time. He communicates directly, effectively, and often. He is immediately responsive. He cares about doing things the right way and in the way the customer intends. His professionalism stood out as extremely uncommon in Kershaw county. I have secured services of a variety of professional and tradespeople--none of them compare to Dave. Seriously, no matter what it is you need done--from rough-in to finish work, he is honest, fair, and does superior work. He has a busy schedule for a reason.

ACreative Fence By Roger
My daughter was moving into her new house and needed fencing to keep her dogs confined.  We called them on 12/20 and they came out and poured the posts on 12/23, and installed the fence and gates on 12/24.  Don't know of anyone that would work that close to Christmas.  They do excellent work.  Prompt and professional.  A little pricey, but they use better materials than others get at big box improvement stores.  You get what you pay for.  We have used them over the years for our rental properties.  This is a local, family  business and we support these kinds of firms.

I found Mr. Bass on Angie's List and would highly recommend Shepherd Fence.  I was concerned that they may not travel for a small job - a problem i find more and more with companies lately.  Mr. Bass didn't hesitate when i told him i was a bit out of her work area.  He gave me a "site" unseen estimate based on a very crude drawing i emailed to him.  When he arrived, after measuring the property, he was within $100 of his original estimate.  He showed up as scheduled, no muss, no fuss, and the job was completed as promised at a VERY good price - $500 lower than the compeitor i contacted.  I am 100% satisfied with the work, his responsiveness, polite and pleasant personality and would recommend his company to anyone.

Wayne Bass and his entire family are hard workers. Wayne is a straight up nice guy as are the rest of his family that we met while they were working at our home. He did great work, the fence looks awesome! It was hard work.....we have clay soil and lots of tree roots to deal with, but he never complained. We had this done about a year ago, by the way. We recently had a problem with our driveway gate, and although the manufacturer of our fence wasn't willing to give us a new 1/2 gate, Wayne came and repaired/replaced it with a new piece. He only charged us what the manufacturer charged him......he did the work for free. He is quite honorable and stands behind his work.....even though this was not his fault, he fixed it anyway. The vinyl gate had weep holes, but the way they were drilled did not allow the water to drain out, and because of this, the gate got extremely heavy and the vinyl broke on the gate. Again, this was no fault of Wayne Bass! If we ever have fencing to install again, Wayne will be the first person we call. His price was very fair as compared to his competitors. We loved Shepard Fence, and if you're lucky enough to get Wayne to install fencing for you......you'll love him too.

AM & T Home Maintenance Svc
All  work was completed on time and in a highly professional manner.   M&T owner Terrie Hay visited the work site beforehand to review all components of the work.   His cost estimates were extremely reasonable.   The day  we were to meet, he had an unforeseen emergency at home.  He let me know immediately of the possible delay,  called me as soon as he was able to arrange a time later in the day, and arrived on schedule.   After reviewing the various projects, he spent more than an hour with me  to develop a practical and effective approach to installing a greenhouse shade cloth (which I had purchased  to reduce glare and mid-day heat build-up, but needed help to install). The project was fairly complex, and involved affixing the cloth to the house roof, weighting the front edge of the shade cloth, and anchoring the cloth to the deck upon which the sunporch was constructed.     The work -- done by Terrie Hay's son-in-law (Ibelieve!)   Justin --  was done quickly, professionally, and on schedule.   The electrical assistance involved expanding an existing circuit to activate lighting in the sun room and a shed.   . A few days later, the circuit inexplicably began to trip a breaker.   Justin came out promptly, and -- working together with me -- we spent a couple hours sleuthing the problem which turned out to be a faulty existing electrical cable in the shed --- nothing at all related to the Justin's previous  work.  Nevertheless, Justin was reluctant to accept any payment  (but I insisted and gave him some remuneration for all  the time and frustration!) M&T will be returning soon to pressure wash and stain our deck and an extensive yard fence, as well as to install some roof flashing to keep leaves from washing off the roof and under the sun porch shade cloth  --a  small problem we hadnt  foreseen in our initial brainstorming before the leaves began to fall.    This is a big job, involving a lot of  labor in brush application. and the $900 estimate for both projects seemed quite reasonable.  As an aside,  Terrie is also a minister, and his devotion is reflected in both his customer relations and his work

DBrabham Fence
5 Nov - project start date - delayed to finish another project 6 Nov - crew of 2 showed up. Thought it awful small for what I thought of as a large job. fence tear down begin 14 Nov - No drive thru gate, no workers. Called salesman they had ordered wrong gate, will be out and quot;tomorrowand quot; to install. Talked about sever concerns, he said he would be out to look at the job. 20 Nov - drive thru gate and quot;installedand quot; and bill left. Called office and told them out bad it was. Salesman came out. Showed him all that was wrong. Said it would be made right: Gates were VERY crooked / Gate hardware put in backward - street side / Fence posts not properly backfilled / Fence bottom as much as 10and quot; from the ground 23 Nov - called office after lunch as they had not called me. Was told they were discussing it and they would reorder parts. 29 Nov - new crew came out. Said the whole thing had to be redone. End of day said he would be back tomorrow. 2 Dec - crew showed back up. 4 Dec - job completed. Office called asking about payment. Told them I was writing out the check and would mail tomorrow. Office called back asking if salesman could pick check as job had been completed and quot;for quit awhileand quot; 28 Jan - portion of fence collapsed. Dog escaped from the yard. Called the office they would send crew and the boss would call me. The crew came right out. Said and quot;we hope the original crew put this portion in backwardsand quot;. Boss never called. Spring 2014 erosion showing most fence posts had been cut at ground level and dirt pulled on them to hide the fact . I saw them take posts with concrete to the dumpster so the rest must have been done when my back was turned. Wish I could upload pictures of the issues worse than it sounds, if I find out how I will. I thought about removing their signs they put on the fence off but have left as its a newish neighborhood and others are installing fences, neighbors come to remember who did mine so they wont use the same company.
