They were on time, very professional, and took care of the job in approximately 1 hour. My only complaint, which was rectified with 100% satisfaction, was that the sheet rock under installed surge protector (inserted into garage wall under electrical box) was over cut. Cosmetically it was not acceptable and was very visible. BUT, I called Roby Electric and explained the situation and they had a master sheet rock specialist out to our house in two days. He did a FANTASTIC job fixing the cosmetic issue with the sheet rock and we are completely satisfied with the overall project. I do believe that the electrician who put in the surge protector should've proactively made the call to get the sheet rock specialist out to fix his error, but otherwise very, very happy.

Our home was struck by lightning last July. We called Roby the next morning and they were here the same day. By 6:00 pm we had power back on. They had one item they could not repair that day and came back the next day. We requested some additional work which was performed quickly.

I just sold my house, HUGE thunderstorms came through the night before the inspection and knocked out power to one of my circuits. I called Bluegrass at 7am the morning of the inspection and by 10am, the problem was corrected. Very nice and personable worker, I would highly recommend for any job. This is the second time they have fixed an electrical issue with my 50 year old house and both times have been a great experience.

They had to fix the alarm panel. They said it was probably hit by lightning, not covered in the warranty. So we had to shell out $100 more, in adding to the monthly monitoring cost. Beware, if anything goes wrong with your equipment, the first question they'll ask is if there were any storms. If they believe there has been a chance of lightning, it's not covered. Before that, there was a battery pack failure. The representative replaced it and it started doing the same thing. It took three times to get that one fixed.

They came after my home was hit buy lightning. He was very nice, checked all the outlets out. He had to order a part. When he came back with the part he installed it. It turns out it is upside down and never showed me what I had to do.
Recent Review: After a visit to review our needs, Horne provided 6 system options. Two proposed replacing both HVAC units that serve our upstairs with a single system; the others would have replaced just the system that had failed. The proposal options were based on the efficiency of the units they included. We decided to replace both systems because the price was less than for 2 systems and the proposed single system would provide heating and cooling to the 2 areas independently ? like a thermostat in each space. Installation was a challenge, removing and replacing units in the attic. Also considerable duct work had to be changed to function with just a single system. The Horne techs worked efficiently. The pull down attic stairs barely provided the needed space to move the units. The metal work to rework the duct system came together in our front yard. Installation was to have taken 2&1/2 days, but it hit a snag that prevented the system from running properly. On the third day a senior technician came out to diagnose the problem. He found the major problem was a malfunctioning electronics board that was part of the control mechanism for the system. That was a part of the Trane system itself that needed to be replaced. Next day the board was replaced and the county inspector signed off on the installation. The unanticipated delay was not a problem for us because the weather was moderate. The Horne staff were professional and friendly. The job was done with a minimum of mess and what little there was disappeared at the end of every day. Runners were laid down from our front door to the attic stairs to protect our floors.
Recent Review: Heard about Lifeshield from a web forum, emailed the sales rep as a referral and the referrer was able to get $150 while I got a free network camera. The network camera's quality is average at best ... they've since changed the referral program so the new subscriber now gets $100 store credit. Anywho, after emailing the rep with questions and requirements, getting on the phone to do the credit check, I got a kit to try out delivered to me. I installed the base unit and connected the telephone line and ethernet cable (to internet), associated the GSM unit for the backup cell service, and installed the door/window sensors and motion sensors. After about a week, I noticed the GSM unit kept losing signal, I emailed tech support and told them about the issue, did some troubleshooting with them which didn't fix the issue, and a replacement GSM unit was send to me. While that was happening, I noticed the broadband wasn't working ... turns out they had different starter kits: "Home Essentials Kit - Cell Ready" and a "Home Essentials Kit with Broadband" ... I was sent the wrong one. They replaced that and everything has been fine since. A couple of notes: - I believe the sensor batteries are covered by Lifeshield for the length of the lease. I had one die at the start of my contracted period, and they just sent a new battery after I emailed support. The console will tell you which sensor has a dying battery. - I was without electricity for 5.5 days after Sandy hit. The base and GSM units have backup batteries in them, so my system was still connected for 4 days. I was on the phone with my friends checking my house 4 days after Sandy hit and I didn't know if the alarm was still working since I couldn't connect to it via the webpage nor app ... it was, about 30 seconds after they opened the basement door, the monitoring service called about the alarm! So the base was able to keep functioning with the GSM unit!
