Recent Review: When I talked to someone over the phone, I explained the problem I had with Atkinson Pools. The writeup which I detected shortly after is unsatisfactory. Please replace with the one below. Thanks. After the pool was refurbished, new tile and new plastering, all pool lights, three in the pool and one in the spa, did not work. Before the process began all lights functioned as needed. I reported this to Atkinson the following day. Five days later, Mr. Guthrie, the project manager for the pool refurbishing project showed up and detected that one light had water in it. He was able to disconnect the light from the others after which the remaining lights worked, but only for one day. The second time he was able to initiate only one light in working condition while the others remained dead. Again I called Atkinson Pools and once again Mr. Guthrie came and detected another light with water. Again, after he bypassed this light from the others, three out of the total of four lights functioned as needed. His explanation was that if the lights are sitting out for awhile, in this case 10 days, the gaskets dry out and cause water penetration once being put back into the pool. I told him if this is a possibility why wouldn't they put the lights into a bucket filled with water or at least that portion which contains the seal. He agreed with me. He also indicated that Atkinson Pools would be responsible for the cost of replacing the two lights. A few days later I got an e-mail in which Atkinson Pools requested a final meeting. During this meeting at our home the main manager, Mr. Tyler, refused to pay for the lights. He explained that this was not written in the contract. Later they offered to pay for one light, the cost of the other would by our responsibility. I refused. After all, all lights worked before the project began. In conclusion, I have been a loyal costumer for 10 years. I have used Atkinson Pools in every service instance and there have been many. In addition, our pool is cleaned by them on a weekly basis. To be treated like this is not only unbelievable, it is right out irresponsible.
