We originally hired GoTo Guys Handyman Inc because this company seemed to offer the best price and good reviews (at the time) on Angie's List. The owner, Joe Prino, came to our house to provide an estimate. We indicated at that time that we would remove the existing vanity, sink and medicine cabinet, so time would be saved with the installment of the new vanity, sink, and etc. Joe also noted on his tablet that they would purchase new thread lines for the new faucet before coming to our house to install everything. He also said this would be a quick job and since we remove existing vanity, the project would only take 3 hours using one handyman. The day service was scheduled the handyman (working for Joe) arrived over 1 hour late. Carolyne did call ahead to say the handyman was going to arrive a little bit late, but a whole hour is unprofessional. I gave the worker the benefit of the doubt and he started the work. The worker (who I won't name) seemed nice, but somewhat shy and very slow with completing each step of the installment. The worker then indicated that our faucet threads did not fit onto the new sink. I indicated that Joe had specified in his quote that new sink threads were going to be purchased ahead of time. The worker told me that he had just called Joe on his way to our house to see if anything needed to be purchased ahead of time and Joe told him "no". Needless to say this added another hour of time for the worker to drive out to the closest hardware store to buy the appropriate sink threads. By the time the new mirrored medicine cabinet needed to be installed we were on Hour #5 of the project. To speed up the project (which was supposed to be completed in 3 hours; max 4 hours, a second handyman was called to help hang the mirrored medicine cabinet. By this time I had to leave for a doctor's appointment, since in reality the appointment was into hour 6. I left trusting the mirrored medicine cabinet would be hung by the time I returned. I came back to the house at 4:30PM and the men were just packing up. I ran upstairs to see the mirror and noticed it was hung very low. The worker told me they hung it low b/c I am short. Hmmm... common sense told me that a mirror would be centered, but I guess that was too much to ask. When my husband came home from work he noticed how low the mirror was. We couldn't even open the mirrored doors of the medicine cabinet without knocking over the glass soap dispenser and the toothbrush holder. The next day I called and spoke to Carolyne in regards to our dissatisfaction with the height of the mirrored medicine cabinet. She asked why we didn't say something about the height at the time of service. I indicated that I had been away due to running far over our original appt. time and was not there to supervise. The date the mirrored medicine cabinet was scheduled to be re-hung Joe "no-showed" to the appointment. I called Carolyne to see what had happened and she said that she forgot to enter our appointment in the computer for Joe. We re-scheduled again and then Joe "no-showed" for a second time! This time when I called to see what had happened I was given the excuse that the new computer scheduling system was not working properly. So if this was true, then the company must have lost a lot of business because the handymen must have no-showed to many appointments. How could a company not notice having no work scheduled for the current week??? Finally, a worker arrived (not Joe) and completed the work to our satisfaction. Lastly, the issue with the invoice. To the businesses credit they did give us a small discount because of the overtime worked. But, the discount we were "specially" given was the same discount everyone from Angies' List would have gotten- $99 for two hours of work. They even had the audacity to charge us for 2 workers (double the cost per hour), which was not originally agreed upon. My husband called and said he wanted to speak with Joe in regards to our invoice charges. Carolyne said he would call us back. Guess what- Joe never called. But, the company didn't hesitate to send us another invoice a few days later. I then responded by email that we did not receive the respect of a returned phone call as a paying customer, so we would pay what we deemed fit for the late arrival, overtime, 2 no-shows, and charging us double, without discussing the added cost of another worker. Overall, I would never ever recommend this company to anyone. Viewing the other most recent reviews posted, it looks like other customers have received bad service as well. The company better improve its customer service or it is going to go downhill quickly! Look else where for Handyman Services.
