Recent Review: The company name is "Liv.Interiors," but Alison and Christy designed a beautiful outdoor retreat for us. We wanted to extend the living space of our home. We chose Liv to help us maximize the space and make the right decisions based on our budget. Working with Alison and Christy was a pleasure. They listened to us and helped us to realize our vision...on time and on budget. They didn't try to oversell us; we appreciated that. Their subcontractors were a pleasure to have working at our house. We love having family and friends over to enjoy our outdoor living room!

Recent Review: We worked with Newcastle and another potential contractor on design ideas for the rear of our home which had a very basic concrete paver on sand patio.  Newcastle correctly identified the need to build a foundation for the upper level of the patio; consequently we were confident in their abilities to properly construct the project.  This company was very easy to work with.  We arranged the projects in several contracts and they worked with us on contract terms.  Key project elements were the construction of the patios and a pergola and landscaping a steep hillside area to the side of the house. They excavated and prepared the earthen base; installed geotextile fabric and 2A modified stone in compacted lifts for lower patio; install 1 inch layer of washed sand; install Techno Blu random pattern with 6x6 border on curved walkway at side of the house. Install brick edge restraint and tan colored polymer sand.  Installed three stone veneer pillars for pergola posts.  Excavated for foundation of patio and poured footer and set block foundation wall.  Poured concrete slab for upper patio.  Installed Techno blu45 pavers in mortar bed on upper slab and edged with Venetia.  Set Techno Rocka steps.  Stucco on outside of patio block foundation.  Upper Patio was 20 feet wide by 15 feet deep and approximately 2 feet above surrounding grade.  Lower patio was approximately 24 feet wide by 15 feet deep.  Walkway is approximately 3 feet wide by 30 feet long.  The pergola is white oak construction rough cut 20 feet wide by 17 feet deep including white oak leger board set in cut out of vinyl siding.  Posts are 6x6 oak, with 3x8 rafters and 2x3 purlins. We contracted the three large trees but did the remainder of the plantings ourselves.  We also plan to finish the edging between the gravel drive and the landscaped area ourselves to save some money.  Final comments: We have in the past done all of our own landscaping and outdoor work, but this project was a little different due to the slope of the ground around the house, the masonry work and the size of the pergola.  Brad Stephenson was a pleasure to work with and very accommodating in the design process, and worked through a number of revisions with us. The work took about two weeks to complete except for some later work on the stone steps to the side of the project (had to wait a couple weeks on material delivery). The scheduling manager was good to work with and responsive to our needs.  The field staff were conscientious, workmanlike and kept their materials and equipment neatly stowed at the end of their work day.  The quality of work is very good and we are pleased with it after 6 months.  We expect to have New Castle back out to do some cleaning and sealing on the masonry and pergola and to work with them on a fabric placement under the pergola for shade management. This was the most expensive project that we have ever contracted.  I should note that I believe that the cost is competitive based on preliminary quotes from another contractor.  I rated the price good for this reason.  It is possible that we could have gotten a lower price but I don't believe we would have saved significantly with any other competent contractor.  We were pleased and would recommend Newcastle to others for hardscaping and/or landscaping work.

AAtlantic Ridge
Contacted Atlantic Ridge based off of reviews found on Angie's list. Chris came to our house and we discussed what my wife and I were looking for. He listened to our ideas and then took measurements and photos. About a week later he presented a very detailed proposal. This included a detailed drawing, itemized landscape breakdown, and photos of what we could expect parts of the patio to look like (ie. stamped concrete, pergola, etc.). He came back with a plan that thoroughly exceeded my expectations. Price was a bit over budget, so we needed to make changes to his original proposal. Chris was more than willing to work with us and he got back to us within a week with something that fell more in line with what we were looking to spend. Overall, the attention to detail and the suggestions based on our requests are what made us go with Atlantic ridge (he actually listened to our requests and provided a plan tailored to them?so hard to find others that listen so well!). We have been very happy with the results, we get compliments from everyone who comes over to our house. Hats off to Chris?who, in my opinion, excels at what he does and by all appearances is a stand up guy. I would easily recommend Atlantic Ridge to others. Breakdown of work completed: - Approx. 500 sq ft. stamped concrete patio with step box. - Installed 10x10 wooden pergola and two post pergola for swing (swing was purchased previously). - Planted (7) arborvitae's and an Alberta Spruce (dwarf), finished with mulch and river rock accents. - Removed existing concrete sidewalk and step with widened sidewalk - added flagstone to connect new patio with said sidewalk. - Repair stucco along entire side of house. - Sink two downspouts. (notes: we expanded upon the original landscaping after the project was completed. Installed a Japanese "moon fire" maple and several rose plants?and still need to add railing to new staircase to make it code friendly.)

AFRENCH GARDENS
After developing plans and getting estimates from four other landscapers, we were starting to lose hope that we could find anyone who could give us a design that we liked.  Everyone else brought us designs with curbs and pavers.  French Gardens blew us away with a beautiful design that worked perfectly with the home and wooded surroundings.  They were the only contractor who could do it all - stonework, driveway, pergola, and landscaping.  Their crew was there everyday working hard for the full day and then always cleaning up the site at the end of the day.  They were fantastic to work with, dependable, responsible, friendly, and highly skilled.  We highly recommend French Gardens.

The installation went very well. The quality of workmanship is second to none. There was regular communication regarding status of the project and schedules. Josh is extremely detail oriented and will not rest until the project is done to perfection. He puts a significant amount of thought and care to each project.

AMasterPLAN Outdoor Living
Josh Gillow was great to work with. During his initial visit he reviewed the site and discussed what we had hoped to accomplish. Within a week he had a design in the format of a 3d video that gave us an opportunity to review his plans just as they would appear in our yard. Once we made a few minor changes, the work started immediately. His crews were professional and knowledgeable. Even the outside contractors he used were top quality.  The end result was a garden oasis that we will enjoy for years and years to come! We have already hosted a few parties for family and friends and have received nothing but rave reviews from everyone! The bottom line is that working with Josh from MasterPlan in transforming our backyard turned out to be a very pleasant experience and our investment was well spent. Our yard is more than we had hoped it could ever be!.

AHonesty & Pride
Paul was FANTASTIC!!!!!  So great, that before he left I asked to be put me on his list for Sept - and I'm not even sure what I'm going to have him do :)   In the summer of 2012, I engaged a someone to do of the same work as Paul. He completed a few tasks, and did great work,  but as the weather became hotter, he never returned my calls or emails.  I'm not from this area, so I was at a loss until I joined Angies list and discovered Paul!  I'm sure I drove him crazy as I was determined to have Azek or a Azek type of composite PVC where wood and brick molding needed to be replaced. Paul was very patient w/my need to research where I could get what I wanted, as I ran around NJ and PA until I found it.  Once I did, Paul took the time to check it out, and confirmed it would work - and stated as the customer, it was no issue as I should have what I want. I He and his assistant (a very dear man) arrived on-time, and immedidatly begain working, inspite of it being close to 95 degrees both days.   They did not dilly dally around, and were very focused on doing a quality job, quickly, and efficiently.  And to my surprise, Paul's truck is he perfect sub-contractor tool in a box - it was like a magic act.  When he had to craft the custom backings for the light, my driveway became to carpentry center with everything he needed to craft whatever was need on he spot.  It was wonderful  - as was my experience with Honesty and Pride! Paul is listed as a handy-man, but the secret is, he's actually a craftsman.  Something I would have never known had a situation not presented itself while he working on my home.  I would highly recommend Honestly and Pride to anyone and everyone!

AAtlantic Ridge
We moved to an eight year old house last fall that never had landscaping beyond a handful of mostly scraggly trees the builder planted. Not a single bush or landscape bed existed anywhere. There also was no deck or patio, just a rickety set of steps going out the back door. We needed LOTS of help! From the start we were very pleased with the professionalism, promptness, and quality provided. While the plan was detailed enough to make a decision and understand what we were getting in terms of design and plants, we never envisioned the extreme level of quality and attention to detail we would receive. These guys went above and beyond at every turn. We had three trees in the front yard with no mulch beds around them, and they mulched around those trees. That was not in the quote. They removed three dead and dying trees,  also not in the quote. Most importantly, they delivered on the plan perfectly. They repaired our brick paver sidewalk, and filled between the cracks with a poly-sand so it looks like a completely different sidewalk, and very beautiful. They installed a well-constructed drainage system in an area that needed better drainage - not detailed in the quote, but a very much appreciated and professional touch. Every landscape bed, plant, shrub, and tree was installed perfectly and exactly as planned. We are extremely happy with the quality of the plants. Chris Stocker was gracious in working with us to change a few of the plants on his thoughtful landscape plan to accommodate our personal tastes, and we appreciated that. We chose to go with a composite deck, and it is handsome and well built. The deck steps down onto a stamped concrete patio which is also beautiful and very well built. The patio is surrounded on three sides by a wooden pergola to provide shade, and I know the guys spent time studying the path of the sun so we would get the maximum shade possible at the hottest time of the day. Very good! The final detail was a landscape lighting package for both front and back which provides just the right amount of light and a wonderful, warm ambiance for enjoying our new surroundings in the evening.  In summary I would say two things: first, well done to Chris Stocker and Atlantic Ridge, and once again, thank you!! Second, we could never have envisioned how beautiful this could be on our own. We put our trust in Chris Stocker's vision, and the craftsmanship of his team. They met and exceeded our expectations, we are delighted with the final result and wouldn't hesitate to use them again.
