Recent Review: Workers arrived on-time for free estimate and on the day if repair. Workers were professional, thorough, and honest. They gave me multiple options for repair or replacement and explain the pros and cons of both scenarios. We went with the more expensive option of replacing the pipe as the new material used will not leak and therefore, we should never need this work completed again; if the pipe were repaired, it could leak in another section.

Recent Review: Used Wilson Plumbing to install a gas line for a cooktop. Initially was not happy with a rather substantial rookie mistake made by the worker, but the owner came by within a couple of hours apologized and fixed the mistake without any hassle. Fortunately I was home sick so did not have to take off additional time. I felt they were reasonably priced and most importantly, the owner was was prompt and punctual when informed of a problem. Not a perfect experience, but I will hire him again next time I need a plumber and would recommend them to others.

Recent Review: We worked directly with Mike Gallagher.  I'd have to say that working with Mike was a pleasure.  When he came in to give us an estimate, he was friendly and as he described what he would do, we felt confident.  There was some on-going confusion on our end about the timing of the delivery of the appliances (they were delayed), but Mike was very accommodating.  Mike showed up on time with two other guys (who were equally cordial).  They worked together and efficiently.  They had to do this while working through a damp crawl space.  The job was done before we knew, and they left no mess. As the plumbing work was done prior to the arrival of the new appliances, before leaving Mike said to call him if there were any problems in installing the new appliances. No need.  Everything worked as Mike assured. We were happy that we chose Mike for two reasons: 1st) he did a great job at a very reasonable cost, and 2) he was local and I prefer to give work to local businesses.  Mike Gallagher is definitely my 'go to' guy for my future plumbing needs.

Recent Review: Joey and team were a refreshing find (via Angie's List) as the first contractors we've used for our new house. They arrived promptly for the original estimate visit and actual work. Joey gave updates on the work and any minor issues that caused slight delays throughout the process. This is an old house so any and all work is likely going to run into issues. Joey had appropriate workarounds for each of them and had our new stove installed as if the kitchen was built around it. Given their approach to work (pay by hour for almost any work) and the results I saw with this job, we'll be coming back for them for the next couple of years as we work through our dream home ToDo list.

DAndy's Plumbing & Heating Co
On Tuesday, January 6, 2009, I left a message with Susan for someone to return my call to schedule an appointment for an estimate. Susan stated Andy was available Monday, January 12th but she needed to verify his availability. On Wednesday, January 7, 2009, called Andy's Plumbing and Heating again approximately 5:30 pm-twice my phone call was disconnected. On Thursday, January 8, 2009, I contacted Andy's Plumbing and Heating again and spoke with Susan. I told her the service I needed and provided an address. Susan stated that Andy services my area and that he will call me back to schedule an appointment. Andy was still available to visit my home on Monday, January 12th. On Saturday, January 10, 2009, Andy called and asked what service I needed, the location of my property, and my availability. I answered his questions and Andy promised to call back to schedule an appointment. Today is now Wednesday, January 14th, and I have not heard from neither Susan nor Andy.

AM. Resnick Plumbing LLC
Mr. Resnick, on a day's notice, was able to come out and install an outdoor gas line for our outdoor kitchen. He had to return on several occasions because we had to install the kitchen and the patio floor as well, but he was very professional and did a nice job. He assessed the area and parts needed, returned to do the initial tapping from our gas line and then returned after the kitchen base and grill was installed to run the line from the outside of our home to our kitchen. The kitchen still is not finished, but we believe we will have a well working grill and burner when it is complete!

AULLMAN PLUMBING AND HEATING
Larry was very responsive and returned my call within a few hours. He came out the next day took detailed measurements and gave me an estimate for the work. We set up a time for the following week for the work to be complete. Larry called when he was on his way. He started work as soon as he arrived and worked through lunch to complete the job.

AWALSH BROTHERS PLUMBING AND MECHANICAL
A professional job. Took the time to do the job correctly and supplied good-quality components. Came every day until job was completed. I would add, however, that it advisable to be very clear about how the boiler will be vented outside the house.

AReliable Handyman Services Inc
I originally got an estimate from RHS for several items that needed tending to in our new house.  Harry, the fellow who did the estimate, was courteous and easy to work with (and even came out on a Saturday).  I ended up fixing a few of the things that needed attention myself before I hired them (they mostly turned out to be different problems than previously thought), but I had them out to repair the flooring joist which had been water-damaged (the previous owners had never cleaned out the backyard drain). Before the day of service arrived, though, we discovered that the gas lines didn't run near enough to the laundry area for our new gas dryer, nor was there a vent to the outside for the dryer.  I amended my original request via email a day or two before the service, and they made sure they sent the right folks out for the job (including a plumber for the gas lines). In the end, the most elegant solution to get the dryer vent duct to the outside was replacing the basement window with a new glass block window (through which the transition venting passed).  The handymen suggested this as the best option, and given the complexity involved in the alternative (drilling through the exterior stucco on a side wall and running 25 feet of vent), I agreed.  They acquired the material in relatively short order and installed it that day. The glass brick window looks marvelous and professionally installed (and it is certainly an improvement over the cheap Plexiglas sliding window the previous owners had installed without even properly sealing).  Our new dryer runs great and vents properly now, and the flooring seems much more secure (the guys killed some mold that had been growing with bleach as well). I was quite impressed with the flexibility of the handymen (Steve, Frank and Brandon).  They thought on their feet quite well and even came back the next day to touch up some of the silicone on the dryer vent after the first round had cured, and they also installed a mailbox for me (properly resealing the EIFS artificial stucco and even patching some wear that the realtor's sign had caused where the exterior handrail joined the wall).  I was more than happy with their work, and we're having them estimate a flooring job in the house as well.

ADreisbach & Bosler Plumbing & Heating
Mark Michaels came out to give me an estimate and was very creative in suggesting that the current gas line be extended underground and outside of the house instead of inside the house, busting holes through my finished basement to get to the other side of my house where the generator would be placed. He even offered to buy a special tool for the job and to supervise the college student I hired to dig the line where the new piping would be laid. He and the electrician who put in the generator worked together to coordinate the timing of the project.
