Recent Review: The bamboo warped within the first several months and was covered under warranty.    Despite the fact is was covered under warranty Houpt's drug their feet for over 1 YEAR in addressing and repairing the floor!!!  The customer service was horrible and caused strained communications!  I then turned the issue over to my personal assistant Deb to handle.....she couldn't get anywhere with Valinda and could not get past Valinda to reach the owners even after several attempts.   Valinda was so inappropriate to my assistant that my husband had to step in, as Deb and I both refused to speak to Valinda anymore, or to allow her into our home or on any of our property.   At one point Valinda told me the reason for the hold up was that the flooring manufacturer was supplying the floor but requiring them to warranty the labor.  She actually asked me to contact the insurance inspector and ask him to write the inspection report favorably for them so they were not held responsible!!!  Of course I refused to do this and was shocked to even have her suggest it.  We didn't really care what internal arrangements they needed to work out between themselves and the supplier.  That is not our concern.  Our only concern was that our project needed fixed and they were not doing that in a timely or professional manner. After a year of calls and visits, to the store, followed by several calls to the store by my husband, to prompt action, the office manager finally ordered the replacement floor in the wrong color AND wrong amount.  There was not enough flooring to complete the warranty work.  We then had to wait several more weeks for her to order additional flooring to finish the project.  The additional flooring is came in a completely different color/finish.  When we called to complain to the office manager, Valinda,  her exact words were:  "We are not doing anything more---you should be happy you at least got a new floor."   Unbelievable ignorance and incompetence!!!!  Really, we should be happy we paid 9,000.00 for a floor that is 2 different colors. We have plans to take it to the magistrate as well as the attorney general.
