Recent Review: Would absolutely recommend John Mullen and his company. From the first time I called John he was very responsive and professional. I had called multiple other HVAC companies to install a vent through a brick chimney and were having trouble finding someone who would even come take a look to see if they could tackle the project. John didn't hesitate and came out and talked to us to find the right solution. Once we were ready for the job we were able to schedule him within about two weeks and he called the day of to see if they could come a bit earlier than planned. I truly appreciate the quick and professional communication throughout the whole process. The guys that came with him to do the work were also professional and they got the job done quickly. The price we paid was very reasonable for the length of time they spent and the difficult job of drilling out through brick.

Recent Review: Cons: - I had to call multiple times and threaten to cancel my purchase before someone called me to schedule.  It took about two weeks to schedule instead of the 3-4 days stated on Angie's list.  The lack of response to my phone calls was highly unprofessional. - I had to pay $60 extra for materials after the work was completed. - I had to sweep and clean up after they left. Pros: - Once scheduled, the work was completed as requested and to my satisfaction. - The price was reasonable. - I would use Masters Electrical again.

His sons work for other construction people, and they came and helped their father. I believe that the work would've cost more with another company. Sometimes, he would be a little late.

Recent Review: The contractor and helper on our job was excellent, thorough, and prompt.  They listened, asked questions, and followed through. The job was to have been about 2 weeks, but went into 4 weeks because of manufacturer delay in counter delivery.  This was a procedure that began in March 2013 with intro at the Pittsburgh Home Show, and we did not come to terms until August 2013.  Job started January 2014 and finished 4 weeks later. Premiere is to send a roofer to finish venting the range hood outside once weather is warm enough. Make sure everything is WRITTEN on contract.  Overall we are very pleased with the work.  Responses above are based on the management not the contractor. The only "thank you for your business" we got was a thank you card. Based on our spending for a 10 x 10 kitchen a bottle of champagne would have been classier.

Recent Review: Another person recommended by an major appliance store came out first and said it would be impossible to install a new range hood with an external vent and said the only solution was to install a hood with a recirculating system (which we definitely did not want). I then looked on Angie's list and came up with Clinton's name. He was quick to get back to me, he showed up exactly when he said he would, he immediately came up with a solution and evaluated whether there were any "hidden problems" (like the direction of the support beams), and he looked over the specifications for the product before I purchased it over the internet. Once the hood arrived he quickly fit us into his schedule, showed up early each of the two days, and did a beautiful job on the installation. We are very satisfied! We didn't get any other estimates, so I can't comment for sure on the price but it seemed very reasonable to me given that the work extended across two days.

Very well.  He took down a hanging ceiling and chandelier.  He completely rebuilt the ceiling and installed 5 recess lights.  He took out a range hood that was old as time itself and installed a new one which looks very nice.  My kitchen got a much needed update and I am very pleased.

We ordered cabinets from Lowe's and the contractor that was remodeling our kitchen was supposed to install them.  Something happened and we had to find someone else to install the cabinets.  Lowe's would not help us because they said we had to have made those arrangements before ordering the cabinets and they wouldn't make an exception.  We called six installers and everyone was booked for months.  A friend told me about  American Home Master: Chris Walker and Dave Graft out of Greensburg, PA.  I called them that same day (Saturday) and left a message.  Chris called me Monday and said they had a hole in their schedule and could fit me in.  They came the next day and they are spectacular!   They are so nice and friendly they are a delight to have in your home.  They are very meticulous and made sure to get everything as perfect as possible.  My father is a woodworker and I am used to a very high standard when it comes to wood and furniture.  Chris and Dave lived up to that standard - they are both excellent craftsmen.   Since it was so fast I had to describe the job over the phone and I forgot some details but they made it work.  They also helped us avoid problems by openly communicating with us throughout the three day process.  For instance, based on the suggestion of the Lowe's designer we bought three individual pieces of trim to put together to make a crown molding.  Dave and Chris explained an alternate way to arrange the pieces and it looks even better than what I saw in the show room.   A significant number of my cabinets from Lowe's came with defects in the wood and/or stain.  Chris and Dave were very patient as I sorted through all those replacement boxes and did a great job of changing out replacement doors.  They also pay a lot of attention to details and don?t rush.  As a result, together we were able to arrange the cabinets in a way that hid the defects on the items Shenandoah didn't replace. I also asked them to cut through the cabinet above the stove to accommodate a vented range hood. This was something else the contractor was supposed to do and I hadn't solved the problem as to how to get it done.  Even though they only had a small hole in their schedule they made time to do that job for me too and they charged us a very reasonable price to do it. Dave and Chris also went above and beyond the work they were doing and helped me communicate information to the cabinet top people, which helped us avoid a couple of potential problems. I can honestly say that I am now happy that things did not work out with our original contractor so that I ended up meeting these wonderful men.   My only regret is that I did not know about them when I began this project because I definitely would have had them do everything and would have avoided a lot of problems, aggravation, and cost. I can say without hesitation that if you are planning  ANY sort of home remodel talk to Dave and Chris! Update:  Chris and Dave ran out of time and were not able to install the sliding shelves in my kitchen Island cabinets.  They said it was easy to do.  I've tried several times and it is not easy for someone who doesn't do this professionally, the instructions were useless.  I called and left a voice mail asking Chris/Dave if they could tell me over the phone how to do this.  I never heard back from them.  My sister and I went to Lowe's where I bought the cabinets, crawled around in the display model until we figured out how the pieces go together and then went home and did it.  I'm disappointed they never called me back but I would still recommend them.

We hire Mike often, for jobs ranging from big to small! That's why I just put $100 in the approximate cost; because there are many prices I don't remember now & didn't want to guess! However, everything he has ever done for us has been at a very fair & honest price. Mike is responsible, always punctual & extremely helpful. He is the sort of contractor who ALWAYS answers his phone & actually cares about his clients. Most importantly, he is so reliable that I know if we contact him during an emergency, he will be over as soon as he is able because he truly cares. He has gotten us out of a pinch so many times -- whether it was a flooded kitchen, a burst water heater, a leaky roof, you name it -- he was here FAST, the problem was fixed properly & always a more-than-fair cost. I'll be sure to expand on his reviews in the future!
