Never happened - just too expensive to soundproof - so we're moving forward with the media room without extra soundproofing.

AALTERNATIVE DRYWALL LLC
Anthony was very professional and very helpful. I was putting in a music space in my basement and I wanted it as sound proof as possible. He suggested some alternatives and helpful solutions to trying to make the room more soundproof. We ended up using a sheet rock that is designed for soundproofing which was more expensive but is important to my project. He was not the cheapest bid but he was much more professional than the others. The finished product looks great and is decently soundproof.

ADAVID MCGEE CONTRACT SERVICES LLC
After my online research and conversations with other individuals who soundproof areas in their homes, I contracted David McGee to soundproof the basement of a single family home dwelling. I chose him out of the three bids I received because David was knowledgeable, friendly, cost-effective, responsive to request for information and timely. He was prompt with providing an estimate of the work. He walked me through the various options I had for sound proofing. He discussed the research I had done online and answer questions I had. We ultimately settled on removal of existing drywall, and added high density insulation, foam, and additional soundproofing materials. During the process, it was discovered that the existing electrical was a potential hazard and David McGee was helpful in securing a affordable and reputable electrician to finish the work. I would be delighted to hire him again as I found him to be forthright, trustworthy, accessible, affordable and thorough.

APrecision Drywall Services LLC
Tony at Precision Drywall saved us on a soundproofing job gone bad by another contractor. Tony at Precision Drywall was very careful, considerate and thoughtful. His pricing was fair and honest. For the quality of work he does, it is exceptional. Tony at Precision Drywall was the only contractor who noticed that the previous contractor (whom we fired) had used the incorrect screws. Tony and his team at Precision Drywall was fantastic! He removed the previous screws, re-screwed the ceiling, patched all the whole ceiling. Applied mud etc and sanded to a beautiful smooth finish ready to paint. It turned out beautifully and we know it is going to last. This was a tough job to fix because we had soundproofed our entire ceilings in two rooms. Many contractors do not know about soundproofing, but Tony also did and he does his homework. Techniques and materials change. Tony was open to new thoughts, but has long years of expertise. Tony at Precision Drywall was prompt and punctual, gave a fair estimate and did great work. His team was on time and equally professional. They did the job to the best it could be and got obvious pleasure and enjoyment from getting the job done right. This is what we loved most about them. Excellence is something that should not be underrated. Tony at Precision Drywall takes pride in his and his teams work. They are like a family and very nice to work with. We could tell that he treats his employees fairly and they stay with him. I give my full recommendation to Tony at Precision Drywall. It is the best out there and at a fair price! Top notch!!!!!

ADAVID MCGEE CONTRACT SERVICES LLC
We hired Dave to build the "inside" framing for one room of a sound studio. This entailed building, essentially, a "room within a room", with strict rules as to where and how the new framing could contact the existing building, so as to not compromise soundproofing. This kind of work requires great attention to detail that contractors are not used to at the framing stage. Dave exhibited a great attitude throughout, he and his crew were a pleasure to work with, and in the end I ended up with what I needed. There were a couple items that were specified in the plans and engineering drawings that didn't get done: four braces that I ended up installing myself; and rafter hangers that were specified in the drawings weren't installed (Dave brought this to my attention at the time & I was ok with it, but the inspector made me put the hangers up anyway). In addition, I had sent a "final" version of the drawings to Dave via email the week before he was to start, but these didn't make it into the hands of his crew, which caused some confusion (resolved, but some things had to be re-done). Issues aside, one big plus for Dave was: the plans called for a large soffit around some ductwork, and it was unclear as to how to build it such that the soundproofing would be maintained - Dave came up with a creative solution that fit the bill perfectly. Like I said, in the end it was a good experience and I got what I needed.

ASNAILUM'S DRYWALL & PAINTING
I was able to quickly schedule an estimate and Denny arrived on time. He quickly gave me a quote which was far below other quotes I received. I choose Snailum not only because his pricing was reasonable and in line with what I expected for the job (other quotes were on average $800-$1000 higher... not even in the same ballpark), but also because it was evident he had the highest degree of experience and confidence in his work. He arrived on time, kept the area clean (as much as possible!), and was extremely pleasant to work with. I will definitely hire Snailum Drywall for all drywall projects in the future.

ALo's Contracting, Inc.
Amadou (the general contractor and owner) was very timely and thorough in his evaluation of the work that needed to be done and gave us an honest assessment of the condition of the drywall above the drop ceiling that the previous owners had installed in the bathroom, which he concluded did not need to be totally redone but patched. The electrician who was sent out did an excellent job and the drywallers (a father/son team) did meticulis work patching the walls and ceiling in the bathroom and installing the drywall in the family room. Both rooms received a highly needed update at a reasonable price and we don't think the work could have been done any better. Amadou was onsite with the drywallers to go through the work that they needed to do and followed through afterwards to make sure everything was done to our satisfaction. We would highly recommend them!

ALOZANO'S QUALITY DRYWALL
LUPE LAZANO BID THE JOB AND THEN ARRIVED AS SCHEDULED. HE DID PROFESSIONAL WORK VERY MUCH TO THE SATISFACTION OF MYSELF AND MY WIFE. HE WAS WILLING TO WORK WITH US AND RESCHEDULE IF WE HAD CONFLICTS WITH OTHER CONTRACTORS OR THE WORK I WAS DOING MYSELF. AS IT TURNED OUT WE DID NOT NEED TO RESCHEDULE, BUT THE POINT IS I COULD HAVE IF NECESSARY.

BWestside Drywall & Insulation
Drywall is a long and messy process This work is done in stages by different crews ie, drywall hangers, tapers and mud application and sanders, wall finishers 1.Westside provided a good crew for all stages of work. 2.The guys were worked hard and got the job done in a timely fashion. 3.Westside was very good at cleaning up job site dust & plastic My only observation was regarding my electrical outlets and outside hose nozzle . The outlets were not covered and had mud blown inside some of the boxes. The nozzle to my garden hose had a lot of white mud on it after use.
Recent Review: Purchase of an Angie's List deal, but turned into a larger project with the attic fan replacement. The wall cabinet hung well, towel holder was in incorrect location and had to be moved, so bummer time was lost and had an extra hole to patch. Hole patch was completed but texture was done when they came back to finish attic fan install. Texture of doorway was done too quick and not done satisfactorily. Had to have them come back and essentially redo to finish, which is a bummer as I had to lose more time from work. (The redo was better, but now doesnt match the other side). The texture spray used off gassed too much smell for a residential application. I had to air out the house and good thing it was summer time. Attic Fan was taken by the Contractor to build a frame and support to fit it. That probably did save time so that was helpful. Assistant had found bees getting in through the attic vent and helped remove them which I was thankful. However, I wanted the vent properly sealed off especially since I don't go into attics and don't want to DIY it... easily could have been add on sales for them but no offer was made which is disappointing. Overall, the crew is easy to talk with, handles my criticism well, and seem to be good professionals. They need to dial in on quality assurance to make sure their work is appropriate, and improve on getting back to customers to redo work. This is a good crew, just needs some fine tuning.

Recent Review: I was very impressed with this company. They were professional and also personable and they worked together with wonderful teamwork to complete the job with extreme care and on time. The project involved painting the living room, hallway and stairwell and high vaulted ceilings along with some drywall patching and other difficult repair work. Everything turned out beautifully and I love how it looks! I found the cost to be very reasonable and I plan to use them again on some other projects in the house. I would definitely recommend Colorworks NE to anyone looking to hire a great team of people who do excellent work!
Recent Review: I used Angie's List to select three drywallers to quote my basement remodeling project. Of the three, Reuben Cortez had the highest scores with the most reviews. I am happy to add another glowing review! We were remodeling our 1930's Craftman style house's basement. As it is with all older homes, this one has "character." From the beginning, Reuben provided an excellent suggestions for how to drywall and improved on the soundproofing of the kid's bedrooms. He was courteous and professional. The basement has many odd angles and niches in it, but Reuben's crew kept all the walls and corners looking tight and professional. They provided cut outs for all the electrical outlets, recessed lights, in-wall speaker systems, intercom stations, plumbing fixtures, and vents. They did miss one electrical outlet in the hallway, but otherwise the cuts were clean an no overcuts were made that needed to be patched. The drywall crew finished hanging the sheetrock in a single day, but had to come back the next to finish cleaning up. They took all the debris and swept the floor clean. I asked for smooth finish, which cost a little more and took a little longer. The quality is excellent and am quite satisified.
Recent Review: We wished to finish off our garage with 660 square feet of Sheetrock. Northwest Flooring and Design responded promptly to our inquiry and Roman Kulik provided a timely and acceptable estimate. He and his brother Dmitri were able to start the following week and worked efficiently and effectively and on time to complete the job. They keep a clean workplace and cleaned up well after completion. We are pleased with the entire project that they completed with drywall, taping and texturing. We would certainly seek them out again for future projects.
