Reviews in Oregon City to Install Floating Floor

CCrown Carpets Inc
Paul, sales manager at Crown, gave good advice. Problems started with subcontracted installer who proceeded to install half the kitchen floor without noticing flaws in the flooring product. When I pointed out the problems, he seemed inclined to ignore it. I asked Crown to send a supervisor over, who agreed with me that it wasn't my job to do quality control on the job. The only solution was to reorder the wood, take out the half-installed floor and do it over again(which really ticked off the installer). Three weeks later, we started over; the installer was rude and constantly muttered swear words as he did the work and was in a hurry to leave. I wouldn't pay the final check until he did a better job of finishing the installation of baseboards, which looked really shoddy. I called Crown again, the supervisor came out and agreed it wasn't good enough. A week later we got a new installer to do the finish work and they finally got paid. Lesson learned: supervise subcontractors.

AA Specialty Floors and More, LLC.
A Specialty Floors was recommended to me by Area Floors as one of several installers that they recommended for products purchased through them. This was a small job and A Specialty Floors was willing to get it done quickly by fitting it in between some larger projects. The entire experience was flawless.

HIS ATTENTION TO DETAIL STOOD OUT. HIS WILLINGNESS TO WORK WITH ME WAS GOOD. HE DIDN'T LIKE THE TRIM THAT CAME WITH THE FLOORING, SO HE BOUGHT OAK FOR IT AND CUT IT TO MAKE TRANSITION PIECES, AND THOSE KIND OF FINISHING PIECES.

Troy took measurements and within a few days, had put together a bid. When the bid was accepted, a project date was scheduled for a few weeks later. Troy worked carefully and with great attention to detail to put in the flooring, resulting in a high quality end product.

AAFFORDABLE FLOORS
The owner, Shawn, promptly came out to measure our space and help me figure out which flooring would meet all of our needs. We had some very specific concerns related to making our house safe and accommodating for our daughter who has special needs, and Shawn was extremely helpful. For example, we wanted the same flooring in the bathroom and have it flow throughout the rest of the house without any tripping hazards due to uneven transitions in any of the doorways. The flooring we chose had to be suitable for a bathroom (waterproof) and also had to be easy to install over a very badly damaged and uneven subfloor in our 1920's home, so our choices were more limited. Shawn went the extra mile, personally calling the manufacturer of one product we were considering when I wasn't able to find the answer to my questions from their website. I had looked at this same flooring in other stores, but Affordable's price was much better and I simply got more information about the product than I could anywhere else because he works more closely with that company (Shaw) than others in our area do. The installation was scheduled within just a few weeks of the measure date. The installers were very pleasant and professional, and handled the quirks of our old home with ease. We had some very minor issues with some finish details of the installation, but they were either quickly resolved by Affordable, or were easy to deal with ourselves (which we did not mind doing, however that's the reason I gave a "B" on the quality of the installation). Overall, we are completely satisfied with the end result. In all honesty, when I first went to their store/showroom in Vancouver, I was a little nervous because the place looks a bit shabby on the outside-- is not super tidy and fancy on the inside. But, I forced myself to look beyond that and go by the reviews I had read here on Angie's List, which were generally quite good. If I owned the place, I would definitely hire someone to spruce up the showroom a little better, but that's just me.:) By contrast, I have been to some other VERY slick flooring showrooms that had very high prices, and employees that seemed like they couldn't be bothered to help me. I'd also had other contractors come out to measure and try to sell me flooring that didn't seem to be listening to my needs. One other company didn't even bother to show up when I made a measure appointment. But, everyone I interacted with at Affordable Floors was friendly, knowledgeable and genuine. They happily put up with me borrowing stacks of samples, bringing them back for more and changing my mind at least a dozen times. All aspects of the job were managed very promptly and professionally. We'd recommend them to anyone.

My flooring project experience went very well and I was very satisfied with the service provided. It started with selecting floor material with Rick Correa suitable to my taste and a need to find a waterproof and indestructible material that looked like wood. Rick was a helpful professsional and made the selection process painless. The flooring material was in stock so the installation could take place immediately. John the floor installer arrived with his assistant, Chris at 8 AM the following morning. Despite discovering more significant problems with my cement floor requiring more prep work than expected, they worked withour a complaint and checked in with me periodically to make certain I was satisfied with their work product. Even with the cement floor requiring more time and attention, the floor project was completed in a timely fashion over 3 days. The floor is very attractive and despite being vinyl, it looks and feels like barn wood! I highly recommend the luxury vinyl/ wood look flooring product ( Embellish ) chosen for my family room, bedroom, laundry room and hallway in my daylight basement . I would again use the services of Rick Correa to help select future flooring products and think John is a floor installation expert who made lemonade out of one lemon of a floor surface! After enduring a storm drain backup flood, my basement is now fit to be a great entertainning area of my home.

AMacadam Floor And Design
We searched for a flooring solution for our kitchen/great room and den for nearly two years. We had linoleum in the kitchen and carpet in the family room and den. Our vision was to have the same floor for all three areas. We didn't want to pull up subflooring so a floating floor was our best solution. Zac was a big help in getting us over the hurdle of the installation process as well as supporting our material choice (bamboo evostrand). I dreaded the process, but it actually went smoothly. Ryan walked us through the project a couple weeks prior and also was very reassuring. We had a tight window for the job to be completed. Everything happened on schedule. There was some confusion as to whether all the baseboard was included in the estimate, but Zac discounted it to keep it within the estimate. Everything worked out as expected and we now have a gorgeous continuous floor that has updated our home beautifully. Macadam has an expansive showroom which made it easy to compare products.

He came out and measured the basement and stated that bamboo flooring is a soft wood and recommeded a different flooring, in this case carpet or linoleum.  He also stated that their is no such thing as a floating bamboo floor, even though were getting that same flooring in our basement with another company.   When we asked him to give an estimate for the bedroom sliding closet doors he looked at them, but didn't give any indication or estimate, as if he didn't want the job and then he just left.

Recent Review: This project was the best experience we've ever had with a contractor and subcontractor.  All pre-project inquiries were answered promptly, the estimate and explanation of the work were clear.  Alex always arrived on time and kept us informed as to the status of the work.  When site problems were discovered, he rearranged his schedule to get the job completed as quickly as possible so we would not be inconvenienced any longer than necessary.  Alex inspected all work done by the subcontracter to verify the very meticulous workmanship.  We have had the same flooring installed in other rooms by other contractors, and the workmanship, particularly the transitions at doorways and to existing floors,  were far superior to the previous installation. Alex does a great job and with unfailing good humor, even when problems arise.  We are happy to give him the highest possible recommendation.

Recent Review: I had Wonderman previously fix a huge dry rot problem at the house per a repair addendum for the sale.  At the last minute, the buyer requested flooring installed before signing.  Wonderman adjusted his schedule so he could come back to install flooring when I needed it. Thanks to him, the closing of the home went more smoothly.  He is honest, timely, efficient and he is greatly appreciated. Thanks Raoul.

Recent Review: We added a substantial amount of hardwood flooring during a remodel. JB Hardwood removed carpet, underlayment and tile flooring, prepped the areas for hardwood and seamlessly wove the new flooring into the existing. It matches perfectly and looks as if it was installed all at one time. They were prompt and professional.

Recent Review: Our agency needed to remodel a shelter kitchen area, and picked IYH from a pool of many RFQ bidders as the most qualified and capable. The contract negotiations were straight-forward, direct, efficient, and very friendly – clearly, this team knows how to work well together. The pre-construction team focused on the agency’s needs and truly “crawled inside” the details in the RFQ. They efficiently kept within a reasonable timeframe as to start of construction and projected end dates, effectively dealing with our occasional concerns and one “act of God” event. Most importantly, the on-site team (project manager, site manager, technical staff) all were well-versed in the needs of a shelter, and IYH took very many steps to make sure the agency’s shelter residents were both informed and kept safe, even making construction crew pictures and names available prior to construction. During the construction phase , IYH exceptionally managed demolition, debris management/removal, renovation (framing, plumbing, electrical (both low and high voltage), windows, exterior siding, materials deliveries, sheetrock, painting, cabinetry, countertops, tile backsplash, flooring, lighting), and post-renovation cleanup – including in-situ deep cleaning. Also, IYH was responsive to the predictable mid-construction changes, including a contract expansion for flooring throughout the structure, replacement of the several bath/restroom features, and so on. The high quality of the team members and the work they have produced is evident in both now-hidden and still-visible ways throughout the shelter. Post-construction, our agency will continue to leverage the multi-faceted IYH maintenance and “handyman” services for both this structure and other needs – and we strongly encourage other agencies and homeowners to check out the thorough, professional, and personal work this team easily delivers.

Recent Review: The entire experience was flawless. Ovi met with us the same day we called for a quote to review floor options, did not push any specific item, but offered helpful suggestions. He asked the most questions of us than others during the review of our place, and ensured us "4 days, 5 maximum" for the complete job. On the first day of the job, he showed up on time, thanked us for packing our stuff into boxes, and politely said "come back in a couple days and it will be done." Sure enough, on day 3 it was finished. He was even able to get the new floor under a custom closet without any trace. Treadline was highly recommended to us, and we will do the same to anyone who has flooring or general carpentry needs.

Recent Review: Alex and his crew are master craftsmen. From the beginning, he came out and made a complete & accurate bid, gave excellent recommendations for materials providers, and had an opening to commence work within a couple weeks. The attention to detail is meticulous. He came highly recommended and I know why. I was anxious getting the work done, as it is a major change to our home -- and the transformation is nothing short of gorgeous. Our home went from looking outdated to beautifully modern, clean sleek and elegant. The material he suggested is 100% waterproof (fully vinyl, not a laminate). More expensive yet worth it because the quality look is obvious when the floor is complete. Alex's crew was pleasant, respectful, laughed and diligent. We were surprised to find some dry rot under the flooring, and they fixed it expertly and without delay. I worried the whole project would be put on hold, yet instead he skillfully fixed the dry rot. The price came in slightly less than estimated and they finished early. This process was delightful. How often can you say that about a remodel. I trust them and am over-the-moon happy with the results.
