Recent Review: They showed up on the day and time they said they would, got to work right away and were done around 5 hours later. Where a bare piece of gound was, appeared a beautiful shed the shape of a barn and ready for us to move our garden tools in. They cleaned up after themselves and the owners son even came out to help the two men so they could get the job done sooner. Very nice business to work with. Paid half down when we ordered the shed and the rest when the shed was built. We need to paint the shed within 90 day to keep the warranty. Their web site is very easy to use to build the shed of your dreams and if I had any questions they were very happy to answer any of them over the phone.

Recent Review: Beyond that, they are prompt, friendly, and great for any issues after the sale. These folks are a decades old, family owned and operated company, not a large corporate enterprise where you can never really talk to the people in charge.

Recent Review: Mr. Hubbard used the best materials for everything.  He took the old roof off, and replaced it with the best metal roofing and the best insulation underneath.  He also extended the roofing down over our wood shed next to the garage.  A new gutter and down spout was also installed of the best materials.  He did an excellent job and it's sealed tight throughout.  It has rained and there is absolutely no leak whatsoever.  The roof also needed a facial board and all wood surfaces were painted really good.  All materials were disposed of properly.  Mr. Hubbard did a very neat operation.  On another job he's done for us, he made our back and front stairs.  They are built like a bridge.  Incredible job done.  We love all the work he has done for us.  He also has put awnings on our home over some windows.  Very nice job and we love them.

Recent Review: We pretty much knew we wanted to hire the crew at Agate Beach Building as soon as we started talking to owner Bob Hein about the new roof and repairs needed on the family's 80-year-old beach cottage. We collected 4 written bids for the work (2 others promised bids and never delivered). Agate Beach's quote for the roof was essentially the same price as  2 of the other 3 bids, but included much more detail about what would be done to remedy attic bird intrusion, how adequate ventilation would be provided given the conversion from cedar shake roof to asphalt shingle, and materials and techniques that would be used. The roof work was a typical fixed-price bid, but dry rot repairs were based on time and materials because the extent of damage under the floor and behind the walls of the porch was unknown. In the end, the total cost was slightly less than Bob's estimate of what total costs would run, despite the fact we had added 2 more items to the work order. Granted, this was due in part to the fact the hidden damage was less extensive than Bob feared it might be, but given some of our conversations with other contractors, I'd have to say his assessment of the work that would be required was the most accurate. Bob told us his experience included time working for a roofing manufacturer on warranty claims, which gave him a lot of first-hand knowledge about all the installation mistakes that can negatively affect the performance of a roof over time. We liked the fact that Bob personally works on the job -- doesn't just turn it over to employees -- but also that he works with a crew of about 5 guys, so the job goes much quicker than it would with someone working alone or with only one other person. Another thing I appreciated was Bob's ability to know what really needs fixing and what can be left alone. We had one contractor tell us, as part of his bid, that all siding needed to be replaced and underlying rot issues addressed at a cost of approximately $15,000 over and above the cost of a new roof. Bob concluded there was no rot under the siding that needed attention, and that replacement of siding in several areas, at a cost of several hundred dollars, would suffice when combined with a good caulking and painting job next season. In other words, we got the sense that Bob has a good feel for what is needed and what is not, that he will NOT "pad" the job with unnecessary work, but won't cut corners either. At some point we will need to replace framing around a couple of our windows where there is some decay, but elected not to do that work now because it would have added significant costs to the job. Bob supported that decision, telling us it was something that could be done at some time in the future without putting us as risk of a much bigger problem. The roof and repairs look good. The job was done in a little more than a week with everything cleaned up and hauled away. So we're quite happy with the work.

Recent Review: Dan began with tearing down an existing deck and structure from the North/back side of my home, breaking up and removing the old concrete slab, and the after removing all of the debris, he contracted a concrete man to form and pour my concrete slab and step to my existing steps, as well as built upon that slab, an entirely new, permitted, and legal pressure treated cedar deck frame and 20' stairway coming down from the 2nd floor deck to the ground. On that frame he helped me pick what tread and decking materials I could use from what I had asked for.  So we put in the new resin Trax decking materials for both. In putting in my basement door and windows for me, Dan discovered a lot of dry rot damage that I knew would be there due to Ivy growing into the walls of the home before we bought it, exposing it to the elements and rain.  He replaced the dry rotted framing and siding for us. The only delays we had on the work we had ordered and contracted to have done were from the subcontracted companies work load, and or short-failings.  But Dan was always here when he said he would be, ALWAYS.  I could always count on him.

We looked  for a small garden shed for a while and finally decided on a wood shed..   My wife wanted to use it for plants as well as some storage so we discussed having some sort of clear roofing material instead of shingles.  William agreed to give it a try at a very fair price. Our lot is not level and required some leveling and then the real shed construction started.  It was completed in a couple of days and looks great and very solid.  The clear roof is perfect for our needs and I don't think anyone could provide a better shed for the money.

They came out and gave the best quote we had received. They were very open about costs and different options. Let us know time frames they could start and stuck to those dates. Prior to coming out they made sure we were still on the same page. Came out and completed the job as requested.

ASHELBY & MIGUELENA CONSTRUCTION
Excellent! Owners are professional, friendly, trustworthy and they listen well. For the room remodel, they hung plastic to block other parts of the house as much as possible, they cleaned up after themselves, didn't track dirt into the house, crew is neat, (and don't swear) very trustworthy, do very good work and are prompt. I couldn't be home all the time but I had no worries about leaving my house with them working in it. I even gave the man in charge, my garage code so they could work whether I was there or not. They said the room remodel would take about 10-14 work days (M-F & excluding Sat & Sun) because the door had to be ordered. They started on the day they said they would, were there when they said they would be, and 11 days later I had a new den! The subs are well supervised and if there is a problem or question it is addressed immediately. The smaller little projects I have, I just call and they put me in their schedule. I either buy parts if they are needed or they do. They never make me feel like my questions or concerns are silly and my small jobs are treated with the importance of a big one. Anything I've had them do has come in on budget and is completed when they say it will be. These guys do it all from building homes to putting up hose hangers and they do it well. I plan on a remodel in a year or two and would not consider using any other company to do the work.
