Recent Review: They had to cut into a hillside and level an area and dig a hole on the foundation. It was an area that was difficult to get to, but they did a beautiful job. They did it very professionally and made it look nice. They had to dig ditches and everything.
Recent Review: Bought our first home and due to a number of need-to-do’s we ended up affording a more affluent neighborhood. Little did we know this meant wading through a sea of bids at 3-4x the standard rate while assuming we knew little about the work being done. Superior Underground was a godsend. They were fast, fair priced, professional, and not put off by my town’s extra layers of regulation. When they encountered problems (leaking water line) I was informed immediately along with their action plan, they even had everything fixed before leaving for the evening. They did a great job cleaning up & compacting the site afterward, even excavated a set of bushes I had been struggling to remove.
Recent Review: Steve and his crew did excellent work and came highly recommended from many sources. The work was done quickly (in just one day), and our lives were very minimally disrupted. The only complaint I have is that Steve was very hard to get a hold of. It took months for us to get an estimate out of him after the inspection. Then it took everal more weeks before we could reach him again to schedule the work. It was very frustrating, and we very nearly went with another company. In the end I'm glad we worked things out with Steve, because he did really good work at a reasonable price. The reason it's hard to get a hold of him is because he keeps so busy, so I suppose that's the price you pay for using the most popular sewer guy in town!
Business Description: We are a professional excavation and remodeling company servicing the Portland Metropolitan area as well as Clark County. We have over 20 years experience in the industry - both residential and commercial. The founder and owner, Jim Horn, CR, has over 20 years experience in residential excavation and remodeling as well as small commercial excavation.
We do a great deal of the work ourselves, however, we use subcontractors if the project includes installation of items such as flooring, drywall, cabinets, etc... and we know a subcontractor can do the work more efficiently and less expensive to save the homeowner money.
We have a $100 - $150 move-in charge for our excavation equipment depending on the location of the job site & the equipment needed.
We are members of the Oregon Remodelers Association and the National Assocation of Remodelers. James Horn is a Certified Remodeler and is lead certified with Oregon and the EPA. We are also members of our local Chambers of Commerce.
Business Description: We are a locally owned small business specializing in the Forestry, Transportation, Demolition, and Excavation sectors. We employ on average 10 full time employee's with seasonally adjusted employment at 20 or more.
Recent Review: They understood the short schedule to get the job done, and they squeezed my work in with 9 days to spare. They showed up on time and got right to it. They were done in less time than they had planned for, and Will discounted the job by $200. I had to do a fair amount of site preparation before they could get their equipment into the right place to dig the back ditch. I got this work done on time so they could do theirs. They were great guys to work with.
Recent Review: We spoke on the phone and I told him what I needed done. Layson called me Monday morning after he had looked at the site and we negotiated a price. The other contractors I called for a bid, required hours of my time to escort them to the site, and tried to ******** me about different particulars of the job like I was an idiot. I'm actually a part time, licensed contractor with 14 years of commercial and residential experience including excavation and underground utilities. I didn't make this known to Layson, but he treated me with the same respect and professionalism I would expect.
Recent Review: Went very well. We had to clear a lot of debris, plants and small trees, as well as planters and arbors. Work was completed a day early, and Ted really worked with us when we needed to add a few unexpected projects to the list, including a deck removal. He even helped remove our hot tub with his excavator, getting us a discounted price with the garbage haulers, since it turned their 1 hour job into 5 minutes. Overall, very pleased with the finished product: cleared lot ready for sod and landscaping.
2 yrs later: Now that I know how to use Angie's List =) I've used Duane Rinkes for years and always knew he was an artist. Recently had to have some emergency work done by someone else ... You can't imagine the mess a less-skilled excavator can create ... or the mess you will have to clean up yourself. Duane is fast but a perfectionist ... comes from a lifetime of experience. His price is fair-to-low and he is such a nice person too!!!! I will never let another person work in my yard except him.

After a rocky start due to a challenging sloped lot on waterfront property, Bill assured us he would be able to make us happy with the final product he did!. Note: 6 months after occupying the home, we couldn't be more pleased with Bill's work.

Chris Cory Excavating LLC is an amazing contractor. It's a pleasure to work with a company that really cares about there clients. I've personally called Chris several times with questions. If he doesn't pick up immediately he will call you back. The communication is fantastic. They're also a very trustworthy company and always offer competitive bids. Tammie who handles all the billing is also wonderful to work with and incredibly organized. I would strongly recommend Chris Cory Excavating to anyone.

ABlue Lake Construction, LLC
Clancy showed up on time to our initial meeting. We discussed the job in detail and he made several suggestions on how to complete the job. Not only did we like the ideas he had, but it was cheaper than what we had planned. He took notes on the job and e-mailed us a detailed bid in just a few hours. The crew showed up on the day the job was scheduled to start and were professional and courteous. We had company coming in so we were on a tight schedule. Blue Lake worked through the weekend and completed the job two days early. The driveway come out even better than we had hoped it would and was right on budget. Clancy was on the job every day and kept us well informed of the progress. There were a couple of minor changes made along the way which we worked together to resolve. I've worked with other companies in the past that tend to make decisions for you and tell you about it later (and bill you for it). I was very happy that Clancy discussed everything with us before any work was done. Overall this was an excellent experience. I absolutely recommend this company and will be using them again on future projects!

SUPERIOR EXCAVATION CAME UP TO OUR PROPERTY TO HELP FIGURE OUT HOW TO DIVERT WATER AWAY FROM THE HOUSE. TO DO THAT MANY TREES NEEDED TO BE REMOVED, THE AREA NEEDED TO BE CLEARED AND TERRACED. ALL OF THE WORK HAS BEEN DONE PROFESSIONALLY, IN A VERY TIMELY MANNER AND WE COULDN'T ASK FOR NICER AND MORE HONEST PEOPLE TO BE HELPING US OUT.

They worked on our septic tank, put in a bulk head, and leveled our lot. I cannot say enough good things about Jim Bishop. I would highly recommend him. He has been really cool since we do not live up there and we write him a check when we are in the area. He has been very fair. He treats us as we are trust worthy and it is mutual. He has the right equipment to do the right work. He has always been time effective. When we were shopping around by fees and availability, we chose Jim and we have used him ever since.
