Recent Review: Craig worked closely with the insurance company to build estimates. He met them on-site to go over the roof in detail and come to agreement on what needed to be done. After the settlement was finalized, he handled the replacement as turnkey. He took into account the funds from our insurance company and our deductible to create a very cost effective solution. Options for the roof materials were provided. The job site was clean every day. The actual roofers were polite and very considerate. The job was completed in a very timely fashion. We definately plan on using the Green Phoenix team for additional work around our home (next deck and indoor remodeling) in the very near future.
Recent Review: The installation was completed in a little over two hours and they cleaned up any mess. The company did what they said they would do according to the contract. This happened shortly after the May storms and the shelter company was almost overwhelmed. After the install, the lead person on the crew took the time to walk me thru how they installed the shelter, how it works and locks and other safety issues. I signed his paperwork and the crew left. My only rub was dealing with their office people. I would be sure if you use this company, double check the paperwork they send you to take with you to your city to collect your building permit for the install. I did not and it became quite a hassle getting the correct paperwork faxed and approved. Other than that, it was pretty seemless.
Recent Review: Taylor Scott was polite, friendly, efficient, and responded quickly and thoroughly to my questions and complaints. The roofing job was neatly done, with all debris cleared away. I noticed that the cap for the furnace exhaust had not been replaced, and Taylor took care of the omission within 24 hours. When we had our first rainstorm, in October, I noticed a problem with the gutters. I telephoned Taylor, who contacted the company which had done the installation, and workmen were out fixing the problem within the week. My daughter, in the same neighborhood, contracted a different roofing company. From her experiences and problems, I realized how fortunate I was to have chosen Statewide. If we ever need another roof, my daughter and I will both call Statewide.

I waited for 3 hours and I called several times with no answer. at 6pm the next day, I got a call from a man who was out at the house waiting to put up the carport. It was dark by the time they set it up. It was a situation where I already had a money order for the amount, so I had to pay full price, but I am going to call them to see if they will knock of 20%. The man that came out asked if I had gas for his generator, then asked if I had a larger generator that he could use. He also tried to upgrade me on the braces and pay him cash, which I was not comfortable with.

Peter Porter agreed to build us a 30x50 metal garage/ shop building. We have a signed contract. We paid him $5000.00 up front with the rest in agreed installments. He poured the concrete, framed the building and put the walls up and installed one entry door (we paid for two), installed one window (we paid for two), and asked for his final installment, which we paid him. Then, he SKIPPED on us! We have contacted him several times and have been told he would finish the job. We finally have given up and are finishing the job ourselves (having to buy about $2500.00 worth of materials out of our pocket that we had already paid him for). He also poured our driveway and never finished the approach. The quality of the job was terrible! The building is not square, and all the other work is very sloppy! Felt sorry for him because he is a senior citizen who seemed to be looking for honest work. We were totally taken advantage of! Do NOT hire this guy unless you want to be ripped off!! After a month and a half he made good on the labor portion of the building. He is going to do another job for us for free to make up for the materials we purchased.

We will not be using this company in the future. Even though they built the building and it is a good and sturdy built building, their service is HORRIBLE.

I had certain specifications for this building that I went over before we started. They were not met. The laminate countertops are separating. I had to build two other buildings to compensate for things missing in this one. My yard was trenched for underground lines, the trenches were not covered. We had to do that ourselves. When they dug the trenches they cut thru out gas and water lines in many places. They fixed it but it didn't show much care or forethought.

They were very prompt and so very polite. Worked very well with us to draw up the plans. They worked hard and fast. Everything was done with the very best of materials and the construction was very well built. We are very happy with the service we received from them. We would definitely use them again. We would have kept them all to help us finish the inside if we could have. We intend to have them out when the cabin is complete.

Almost two months ago, I signed a contract to build an 1875 square foot home. I was asked to put $10000 dollars down. The builder was well aware I could not gain a New Construction Loan, but was able to get a mortgage loan. He stated he would get the money for the build and we would use a city grant for $30,000 of it to help as well as our mortgage loan to pay off the New Construction loan. After over a month past nothing was done for the build not even breaking ground. We found out there were going to be no grant at the end of the build and our pre-approval letter for the mortgage loan was contingent upon my husband remaining at 80 hours a week. His hours dropped down to 60 or less and with no grant there was no possible way to build. Not to mention the builder was unable to get a loan to build to the original contract. He insisted upon us going to another location and the house would have to be smaller. We stated we did not want to do that and because nearly no service was provided, aside from a sample small drawing of the specs of the house, we asked for our full down payment back of which he stated he would give back. Now it has been near another month I talk to him once asking when I can expect the money back. He stated that I would get it back and that he was in a meeting and would call me later that day. He never called and now he is avoiding all our calls and has not given me a dime back. Today 10/4 he contacted my Realtor and stated to her that he was working on get our money back and the he was frustrated I was calling him and said not to harass him anymore. I should be able to contact my contractor if I have a contract and I have money invested. I had all right to call him and if he would have simply answered my questions and calls it would not have been an issue. Which leads me to believe he spent my funds on something else. At first this man seemed caring and like he wanted to help but problem after problem we knew it was not possible. We were expect to give our down payment on the spot, yet I can't even get a date of when I can expect my refund. It is now 10/6 and my husband got a call from Mr. Horner. After he bashed me for speaking honestly about the problem he told my husband that he was going to keep up to $2000 dollars of our money for hours he spent on an 8.5X11 quick drawing of the design of our home that he stated took over 80 hours to do. He would not let my husband speak most of the time and said he would call us on Tuesday. After waiting on 10/28 Mr. Horner finally gave a check to my Realtor for $7200 dollars to give to us. He kept $2800 dollars for blueprints that he worked on but never printed and that I never saw and was told was not done and apparently travel costs. Then he told my Realtor we would get a copy of those blueprints I was charged for and we are now in November and I don't have those prints and most likely never get them. I am thankful for getting at least some of my money back but I should have gotten a lot more than I did. I have recorded phone conversations between him and I. I would be more than willing to let someone listen to them if requested. I hope this helps.

He didn't seem to pay much attention to some things around the job site. He tended to sell you on the house he wanted to build for you. We had suggestions on what we wanted for our home, but he would tell us that his vendors or subcontractors didn't do that or that it cost too much. This caused us to build the house that he wanted for us, just not with some of the details we'd prefer.

Everything went as planned. They were very good on the price and we love our building. The team sent to assemble were knowledgable and nice. It is in the contract they will leave their trash and they did however it was fairly neatly piled and some of it bagged. But the building went as planned. We did not have the overhead door figured into the price. I wanted to get them elsewhere.

Great experience which included working with Mary to create a custom floor plan and construction was a breeze. Less than 6 months to build the house and get it to your location.

Stan and his staff are exceptional! He really listens to what you want, can make suggestions on the spot and stays on top of ALL homes he is building continuously! He hires locals to your area when they do what he says and under his timeline. His office staff is very helpful and friendly. We already recommended him to many people and he has already finished my sisters home across the street from us! We WOULD recommend him to anyone building a home!!!
