Recent Review: I think their work is exceptionally professional. The one hard issue is that he is trying to start his business. It is just one person. It took twice as long as he thought it was going to take. I guess it is a little thing. We were very happy with the finished product and his responsiveness and stuff.

Recent Review: Crowdsourcing site for interior and architectural design. Interesting service and if you are comfortable with internet shopping and a little risk, IMHO, worth the cost.  My project:   Redesigning kitchen and family room (great room concept) and we needed interior design/style advise for the project. The site posts a "competition" for the project, you determine what amount of money to offer for the competition (site recommends an amount, but the customer is free to change if needed.) Within 20 days, we had 20 designers signed up for our competition from all over the world. In the end, 8 designers submitted designs. We picked our top 4, rated all designs and the top three were selected based on ratings -- one from France, USA and Serbia. Honorable Mention went to country of Georgia. First, second and third place received a portion of the award money.   Pros and Cons:  You, the customer, must be comfortable with the risk of paying for something and not knowing if you'll like the result. For me, this was part of the process and an acceptable risk.  You don't have a face to face consultation. The site has a "wall" where you can post ideas, photos, communication with the designers or architects. I resolved this by posting my houzz.com design book on the wall to give designers ideas of our likes, dislikes, etc. You can also post requirements and constraints for your project. Toward the end of the competition (a deadline is set when you submit a project) a lot of communication occurs with the architects and designers. Expect it, it's part of the process.  The website is fairly rudimentary. Online/chat help is available but is somewhat hit and miss.  You can send designs to friends and family to rate. This is helpful in making a decision.  Overall, we got a number of ideas between the designers and were very pleased with the process and project.

Recent Review: There was a team of three who worked together on this project and completed it in about four and a half days. The first day was spent tearing out the tub, shower, countertop, vanity, and toilet. Then they installed the new shower, Jacuzzi walk-in tub, vanity, toilet and the electricity for the new tub. We were able to use the new tub and shower while we waited for the new countertop to arrive. When it got here, they installed it and the faucet in a couple of hours. The team was very efficient and neat; they cleaned up after themselves at the end of each day. Josh Robertson was the lead on the project, and he was a very good communicator. We were able to call him prior to the start of the project to check on the status of the materials and to inform him of the status of the materials we were providing. He worked with us to schedule the start date for the project and kept us informed of the progress and any issues throughout the process. We were very satisfied with the results!

Recent Review: The work was exceptional. The Countertop Solutions (CTS) original two week estimate ran closer to three, but this was because of some unforeseen issues which developed and the desire of Ron, the lead guy to "get it right". The guys who did the tile also did an excellent job. I don't think any company could have done better work. CTS also installed the granite vanity tops in the bathrooms the previous summer. That job went well also. On this job, we took three bids and CTS came in the least expensive. Cheap does not always mean best, but our previous experience with this company told us this was the right contract to sign. Ron has 30+ years electrical and plumbing experience and did that work on a separate contract basis. Operating this way, the installs were seamless, since there was no waiting for an outside plumber or electrician. All the CTS people were not only very good at what they did, but were respectful of the fact that we were living in the house while this was going on and kept the expected (and unexpected) disruptions and inconveniences to a minimum for us. I can't say how much we appreciate their work and would recommend them to anyone wanting to remodel a bathroom or two. (The did our kitchen about three years ago, but that's another story.).

Recent Review: Robert is a nice, personable young man, but…. took my money and ran. He over promised, overpriced, under performed, and in my opinion, his work reflects woeful incompetence. Late, late, late. Excuse, excuse, excuse. Tile work was shoddy, grout lines uneven, used chipped tiles. Pictures available below. "Fortunately," he used incorrect adhesive for the tile. Because it had not set or cured even after four days, we were able to pull the tile off without tools, clean them, and salvaged most of the tile. When he did show up, worked 2-4 hours a day; would go out for “materials” and not return. Finally abandoned the jobsite completely on September 7, leaving some tools behind. Have not heard a word from him since then. He intended to cover up a small mold-covered 2x4 with sheetrock until we demanded it be removed and replaced. Left demolition debris in front yard, did not remove. Homeowner had to haul it off at additional expense. Brought girlfriend to work site to “observe” but was major distraction. Thought this was very unprofessional. Could not discern a logical work plan. Installed new light fixtures and partial flooring before painting and sheetrock was completed, resulting in paint smears on floor and fixtures. Cut flooring too short, did not remove trim, much less extend flooring under sheetrock wall to sill plate. I had high hopes, but now must determine how to recoup my losses.

Recent Review: There was a 3 month wait but we were in no rush. Everything was made by bath planet and prepared in that time so it was all ready to go when it was time to install. Todd Berdit came to our house personally and measured out the our bathroom needs. We also received a nice military discount that's much appreciated. Everything about Bath Planet is honest and genuine. The quality of work is fantastic, Kevin the Installer and Todd went above and beyond our expectations, we will definitely hire Bath Planet again for our master bathroom remodel when the time comes

Overall very well. Job took a little longer than expected but the crew was hardworking and showed up every day ready to go. They kept us informed the whole way through the project. We are looking forward to getting phase 2 of our master bath project done in a few months plus we have thought of some other small projects we would like them to do as well. Very nice people to work with.

CMcKee Construction Inc
They estimated the project to be complete in 11 weeks. Week 19 and they're finally finished after having to redo several things that were totally unacceptable. And if you ever hire them, check your scope of work and invoice line by line. The updated scope of work for my project was approximately 27 pages and I spent numerous hours poring over it line by line. They overcharged me thousands of dollars. If I had not scrutinized the updated scope of work and invoice, I would never have known. On items such as lighting and appliances, they charged more than double the retail prices and charged O&P and tax on items that do not apply. If you confront them about it, they will tell you these are honest mistakes and can be easily corrected...but only if the customer notices them. They are supposedly correcting it (I feel only because they got caught). But I guess time will tell. I can't stop thinking about all of the innocent people that have been overcharged and have no idea. Unbelievable! I don't know how they sleep at night. I guess they have no conscience. I will be submitting another review, when and if, this is resolved. To be continued...stay tuned.

He came out and measured the bathroom. We talked about what we wanted to be done. He called me back with a bid in a few days. He gave me a start date and approximately the finish time. My husband asked a co-worker about her bathroom remodel job and he found Jack's bid to beat the other company by 2/3 the price. We ran into a snag on the tile for the floor because this house was over 40 years old it couldn't be matched. No problem, Jack picked up two designs of tile we choose one, so his team retiled the bathroom and adjoining laundry room. We couldn't be happier with the new look and the floors look awesome!

Straightline Construction was hired to remodel our guest bath. This included removing a sunken tub, constructing a new floor and installing a new tub on top of the floor. The remodel included new granite countertop, subway tiles in the bathtub, painting cabinets, installing new tile floor. Also new light fixtures and painting walls. I have met with the owner, Jack Howard several times and he was always on time. The remodel started when I was told it would start and finished on time. The quality of work was great. All decisions were run by me before materials were purchased. Was very satisfied with his work. This project was the last of 3 or 4 projects that he has done for me. Would definitely hire Straighline Construction/Jack Howard for our next project.
