Recent Review: This a long overdue review of Dan Fant and his company. We decided to purchase a geothermal system during the summer of '08, purchase and installation completed in Nov '08. We researched a LOT! We even had three vendors give us quotes. Dan took the time to explain the systems to us. Thoroughly went through our home to put together the right system for our needs. He kept telling us that he "over builds" the system so we never have any regrets. Nearly seven full years later and with the past two winters behind us: we have no regrets! Another vendor came in, briefly looked around the house and gave a us a quote for a system that would not have stood up during the past few winters. It was almost comical dealing with this vendor as I had already met and talked with Dan. Did I say he explains everything? Since Dan had explained what he wanted to do and why, I was better informed when meeting the other vendors. As I asked the others questions they treated my like an ignorant kid as if I didn't know what I was talking about. To be blunt honest: Dan wasn't the lowest bid, in fact he was the highest of our quotes. When we sat down and compared what we were getting versus the others, it was actually an easy decision. In fact Dan and his crew were so respectful of our landscape and house, and how they cleaned up after themselves, it was one of the easiest checks I've ever written. The crew showed up on a Friday afternoon to pre-position equipment. Monday morning they started. By Friday, dinner time, Dan was in our basement sweeping as the electrician was finishing: done! The whole week was enjoyable as they worked. They didn't get perturbed as I or my neighbors watched them work. Many of my neighbors commented how amazed they were how little damage was done to my yard versus other installs they've seen. I was too. To say that Dan and his crew does quality work is an understatement. They took pride in doing our job. This is an easy recommendation to write for anyone looking to make the change to geothermal! Since 2008, we've had only one minor issue the system itself. It was a manufacture issue and not a Geothermal fault. In fact when we called Geothermal Professionals office that the system wasn't running right, they contacted the manufacture and worked the warranty with them. Then they promptly came out and got the parts replaced. That was probably 5 years ago. We do have them come in for general maintenance to check the system twice a year and haven't had any problems since.

Recent Review: After another contractor diagnosed a serious problem with expensive alternatives I contacted this company for a second opinion. Sisler Heating found the problem immediately ( a pressure adjustment to the water flow into and out of the furnace) and did a through inspection of both units. They noted that there where no other problems especially those determined by the first company..
Recent Review: Prompt, friendly, professional. Did a great job in one day, Cleaned lines and replaced metalwork where needed. Needed rug to put beneath unit to keep it off the floor (two small scratches on floor) fairly minor and I didn't even call it to their attention.
Wayne arrived on time, worked professionally, did a thorough job of cleaning the furnace. I appreciated that they gave me an estimate for the job before they even came out.

William A. Obviously has a deep knowledge of geothermal units. He was the first technician to truly diagnose the problem and resolve it after years of wondering.

FOLMSTED HEATING & COOLING
Olmsted Heating and Cooling was part of a large group that installed our very poorly designed and shabbily installed geothermal system. I bear full responsibility, sadly, for having hired this shady operation. We have had multiple problems with the system and I have resorted to hiring a reputable company to fix the disastrous project we were left with. Ed Gross, President of Olmsted and Heating, made the mistake of pulling permits for some of the work but not being willing to close them out. Instead he informed the Shaker Building Department that NorthCoast Geothermal Inc. has left him with open permits on four separate occasions. After almost two years of asking Olmsted Heating and Cooling and NorthCoast Geothermal to please enclose the gas lines in my garage (a situation I was cited for), I reported Olmsted Heating and Cooling to the Ohio Attorney General's Office. Instead of buckling down and just getting the work done, Mr. Gross wrote the AG's office that "the problems with the project and the liability are the result of other unregistered and unpermitted contractors, not Olmsted Heating and Cooling." Yet he allowed his company to take the permits out in his company's name. And I am left having to pay a second time to get the work finished.

AGeothermal Professionals Ltd
It went well. They moved us forward on the wait list because we had no air conditioning in August. There were a few minor delays-refitting our duct work primarily. They were professional and courteous and neat. I was impressed. Our unit is quiet and efficient and I am glad we made the switch to geothermal. The cold winter months are still ahead.

They are always on time and polite. Geothermal has been working well so I assume they are doing a good job!

Overall, they did good work. The system has turned out to cost more to run than we were lead to believe. The price for the system was good. It was difficult getting things to work right, but eventually did. It has been difficult to get them over to look at the system since it was completed.

Poorly coordinated job. Instaled wrong water heater. Had problems with the geothermal furnace that they admitted that they were unqualified to repair. Left me hanging to find someone who would work on it. This created warranty problems.
