Recent Review: When they originally put in the AC and furnace I didn't have a humidifier so I had them put a humidifier on for the winter when it gets dry. The quality is an "A" so far as I can tell.

Recent Review: It went well. Very professional, and they cleaned up very well after the job. I like the owner David very much. understanding, caring, listens, tries to find the best way to work for you as far as cost and quality. After he was done, the air flow was exponentially better. I plan on using him from here on out for my heating and cooling needs. He's #1 as far as I'm concerned.

Recent Review: I had been planning to call Mike about looking at my two furnaces for some time now, but just never got around to it. Well one evening I was at my fathers condo and I noticed that it was on the cold side, so I went to his utility closet to check the furnace and found it to be flashing an error code as the burner wouldn't stay lit. So, I told my father that I had heard of a local hvac person I had been planning to call to look at my own furnaces, I might as well call him to check yours out also. So the next morning I call Mike around 7 AM and he promptly answered. I explained the situation with my fathers furnace and he seemed to know right away what the problem may be. Mike then asked me if I was a mechanically inclined, because if I was he could save me some money. I said yes I was and then he proceeded to tell me that it sounded like the "flame sensor" was just dirty and needed cleaned. With that, he explained to me how to clean it. I followed his instruction and it worked like a charm! He could have easily done the 5 min. job himself and charged my father a service call, but he said that he didn't like having to charge people for such simple jobs. After we got done talking about my fathers furnace, I told him I'd like to schedule a service call for my own furnaces. He told me that he could come later in the day, so I wouldn't have to leave work to meet him, which was nice. The day of the appointment about a half hour before he was supposed to be at my house, Mike called and said he was sorry, but he was running late on the appointment that was before mine and would it be ok if he came to my house a bit later. I said sure, I had not problem with that, I understand sometimes things happen, I was glad he was courteous enough to call. Actually him being a little behind schedule (and caling me) showed me that he didn't want to rush the job he was working on just to keep the appointment time exactly...I certainly wouldn't want him to rush my job. Anyhow Mike and his son (who was working with him that day) showed up at my house. I showed them to the basement and explained my concerns with my furnaces and as we were speaking Mike noted that the one furnace wasn't working properly so he began looking into it. I left them to their job and went upstairs. A few minutes later Mike came up to get some tools from his van and when he came back in the house he had drop cloths which he placed over the pathyway from the entry door to the basement. He said he didn't want to be tracking across the carpeting with wet work shoes (it was raining) so he was putting them down. I have to say, that is the first time I had a service person or contractor ever take that kind of concern. After Mike and his son (Pat I believe) looked at the furnaces, they asked me to come back down as they wanted to show me something. Well they found that both heat exchangers were cracked, which they let me see and also told me they found a gas leak on the one furnace which they corrected and for some reason the one furnace was getting so hot that the high limit switch was shutting of the burners. They said it could be an air flow problem with my filter or possibly something else. At this point I said I just want to make sure they are safe for the time being as they will need replaced obviously, so they removed the air filter and sped up the blower motor to help keep the furnace limit switch from having to kick in. They also did C02 checks to ensure that things were safe for the time being, oh and they also checked my hot water tank for gas leaks as well and I didn't even ask them to and I certainly appreciated that. After they finished servicing the furnaces we talked about replacement options of which I was given some choices of brands and setups. I asked him to give me a couple quotes with different brand/setup options, which he said that wouldn't be a problem. Once he finished measuring for new furnaces on the inside, he wanted me to show him where I may want to vent the new furnaces outside. After looking outside and getting some ideas, they were about to leave and I asked Mike what I owed him for the service call and work they did. Much to my suprise he said nothing! I said what? I have to pay you for your time and then he said, well let me figure up the quotes for new furnaces and if you decide to go with me, there will be no charge for today and if you decide to go another route then there will be a service call charge. I said really?? That was a first for me, talk about fair, actually I think that goes a bit above fair actually. I will be sure to add another review after I recieve the furnace quotes and especially if they end up doing the job for me. From my experience with Mike Byce heating and cooling I can honestly say that I would gladly recommend them.

Recent Review: I called them and a few other companies for an estimate to put a humidifier on my furnace.  Their estimate was the best and I called them to do the work.  They did a great job and only charged me what I was quoted on the phone.  I will use them again.

Recent Review: I called for plumbing services and to have a hole cut in the wall to drain my dehumidifier on Tuesday, October 2, 2012. I was told that the plumber would arrive between 9:00 am and 10:00 am on Wednesday, October 3, 2012. At precisely 9:00am on Wednesday morning my doorbell rang and the plumber was there as promised. I need a hose for the dehumidifier and he went and purchased it for me and did not charge me for the time he took to go run the errand. He burned out his drill bit and had to go and retrieve another from the shop and he did not charge me for that time either. All and all it was a pleasant experience and thwe gentleman was very professional and friendly. i was a little shocked at how much plumbers now charge per hour, I haven't had to have a plumber in years, but I am happy my problems are solved. The drain problem from my washer works well also.

Recent Review: Brian was on time, professional, knowledgable and polite. Covered his shoes in the house. Recommended the right filter for our furnace and provided the bar code so we could re-order as needed. For the a/c, he showed me the condenser and contacts; 14 years of use without maintenance to be replaced. Also cleaned the coils for better air flow. He took the time to show and explain what the problems were and his recommendations.

AD. E. Miller HVAC, LLC
In a nutshell anyone looking for honesty, technical expertise and competence, fairness, pleasant folks from the owner, to support staff and installers, along with competitive pricing on quality equipment made in the US backed by excellent warranties, should contact D.E. Miller, HVAC. After personal dealings over four decades with at least 5 or 6 HVAC contractors, I asked a sales rep with a large building materials supplier that sells HVAC equipment for a reference to a HVAC contractor in the Mahoning Valley. At the top of his list was D.E. Miller HVAC. In need of a service call regarding a central AC system that died last fall after being serviced twice over a relatively short period, I called D.E. Miller. Within an hour I got a call from Mr. Miller's pleasant and knowledgeable "inside" staff person who scheduled a prompt service appointment. Mr. Miller came, inspected the AC system, furnace, and duct work before explaining in ordinary language the many problems with all three. While providing a band-aid approach to getting the AC system working, he also provided a comprehensive quote on replacing the AC system, which was over 20 years old, and repairing the problems with the furnace and duct work. He recommended a well known AC brand with a ten year parts warranty, a high level of energy efficiency, and that is made in America. By late in the same day we had a written quote via email which contained the exact terms he presented orally. By the way, there was no service call charge. We accepted the offer, worked with his inside person on all the details, and within 10 days all was done. Every one's attention to detail in my experience was unparalleled. Everything that was not up to snuff or date was replaced. Mr. Miller's sheet metal work was the finest I've ever seen, to say nothing of being extremely efficient in terms of air flow and servicing. For example, changing the HVAC filter no longer involves manually removing an access panel, but rather pulling out a fabricated drawer that houses a properly sized air filter. All materials and service were as promised, and then some, the job site was spick-and-span when the job was complete, and we have central AC and heating systems that work better than we have ever experienced before, all at a fair, competitive price, with no hidden charges, by people who were pleasant, friendly, knowledgeable, and trustworthy.
