Recent Review: Though the price of this system does offer a little "sticker shock", my overall experience with Kenetico was fine. Paul, the sales rep was on time for his presentation, and came back a second time to answer additional questions. There was no hard-sell, unlike other companies. Installation was within 2 days of signing the contract. The installer arrived on time and was neat, clean and organized for the install. The entire installation took about 4 hours with little to no mess. The only issue with the install was that the faucet for the drinking water system was not the color ordered. There was a communication error in the office. A chrome faucet was installed and replaced with the correct (white) faucet within a week. The office staff could have been a little more flexible with scheduling the return trip, considering it was their error. But I was given a 2 hour window and a 30-minute call ahead. I would recommend the system. The water is noticeably different.

ADONAMARC WATER SYSTEMS CO
THEY WERE PUNCTUAL AND PROFESSIONAL. THEY HAD A GOOD SALES PROCESS AND GOOD INSTALLERS. THEY ADVISED THAT THEY DO NOT OFFER A DISCOUNT, THOUGH I HAD HEARD OTHERWISE.

AKinetico Quality Water Systems
It was really expensive. $55 for the service charge and another $55 for one hour work and $85 for parts. We were really upset because we had no idea it was that much, and they said we will bill you later and that's how much it was. So we were not happy.

We highly recommend doing business with this company. The office staff was exceptionally polite and helpful. The owner, who personally came to our house and quoted our new system, was professional and very knowledgeable. At our request, he personally laid a small concrete slab in our basement for the system to sit on. The installers did a terrific job. They were polite and non-intrusive. We are very pleased with how neatly the system and the water pipes were installed. The service was worth every penny we paid. Without hesitation we will recommend this company to our neighbors and friends.

AHANK KLINK PLUMBING
Our Sears Kenmore under-counter water filter started leaking when a crack developed in the plastic.  We purchased a new unit at the local Sears store and called Hank to install it.  He was able to squeeze us in the very next day!  His plumber arrived promptly, was pleasant and professional and had the new unit installed in short order.

I've used them and the companies associated with them for plumbing and water issues, and you just feel good about having them in your house. They're very competent and they come when they say they are going to and do what they say they are going to do. They stand behind their products. I didn't shop around for the price because I was comfortable with them.

CGreat Lakes Water Treatment Inc
I just want to give anyone who is considering this company a "heads up".  It started out by us finding a vial on our door to send in a water sample to be tested.  I assumed that it was the city that was doing this, but it turned out to be this water treatment company.  After several persistent phone calls offering a $25 gift card to a local restaurant and no obligation (only to perform further tests on our water), we finally agreed to have a someone come out.  The sales rep was friendly and  very persuasive in showing us all the impurities in our water and talking about all of the companies that use their system (NASA, etc.) and it seemed like a good idea even though it would cost about $5,500 to have a whole house unit installed.  I told the rep that I needed to sleep on it before I made a decision and he could contact me the next day.  He did not seem too happy about this, but agreed.  I asked him about the gift card and he said he didn't have any with him, but that it would be mailed to me.  After talking this over with my wife, we decided to wait until next Fall to have it installed since we would be gone for most of the summer.  When the rep called to set up a meeting time for later that day, I mentioned that we wanted to postpone the installation and he told me that meant that he could not give me the free 5 year supply of their soap products that was a part of this offer.  That immediately sent up a red flag for me, since I don't believe in making fast decisions on purchases that are this expensive (I have had bad past experiences with this kind of high pressure sales).  So I did some research online (I Googled "Great Lakes Water review"), and found a whole raft of complaints about the parent company, Rain Soft.  They ranged from the system not working and having to pay for the repairs even though it was supposed to be under warranty, to how awful the soap products were (not getting things clean), to not receiving the promised gift, etc., etc.  I actually had a hard time finding positive reviews for this outfit.  When the rep called back again, I told him about this and cancelled the installation.  He told me that their company couldn't be responsible for reviews from some other part of the country and that they had an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau.  I am surprised at this rating since I don't think of this kind of high pressure salesmanship as being a "better business" practice.  It also seems to me that if Rain Soft were a truly reputable company, they would stand behind their subsidiaries and make sure that these problems were resolved.  And, given what I have read, I am not expecting to receive the $25 gift card, but we'll see.  So, for what it's worth, that was my experience, and I would just forewarn anyone considering dealing with this company to do their own research and beware.  The water treatment product this company is offering may or may not be as wonderful as the salesman would have me believe, but with all of the negative reviews, for me it wasn't worth the risk especially given the high cost of the system.

So great. We were told that sometimes with water inside it might not make the move. That was the risk we were willing to make and proceeded. They were beyond careful and everything went as planned. Being able to move the system saved us thousands and their price was very reasonable for the job. Second time we have had them now and I will hire them as many times as I need them. They were on time, probably a few minutes early, did not stand around, worked hard and efficiently. Super great guys!! Job price is total of both times they were out.

I was impressed with Davis Water Treatment from my first contact email. Tony Metzger responded quickly with the assurance that Davis could do the work, and what the approximate cost would be. When I called to set up an appointment I was greeted by a very pleasant and cheerful gal. The appointment was set up for that same week. Josh, the young man who came to do the work, was right on time. He assessed the job and got right to work. He worked nonstop for the next 2 1/2 hours. Josh did a masterful job in linking up the various plumbing connections and the job looks fantastic. He programmed the softener, filled it with salt and got it up and going. He made sure my husband understood the workings of the softener. Even though we didn't buy the softener from Davis, we were given the same great service that any of his regular customers get. There is absolutely no reservation in recommending Davis Water Treatment.

AMcHugh's Plumbing Inc
We were receiving excessive iron in the water coming out of our taps; staining all basins, showers, dishwasher, some clothes in the washing machine. Suspecting the source to be the well, I entered "wells" in the Angie's List search tool. I was pleased to see McHugh's Plumbing come up because Bob McHugh and his team have helped us out several times in the past. We were always pleased with their service and quality. Calling the company, Bob said he was booked solid for a few days. Since the problem wasn't critical, we could wait and scheduled at his next opportunity. On the planned day, Bob called about an hour before the scheduled time to say that several jobs were running longer and he would be late. He kept me informed as time progressed. Although several hours late, Bob did come even though it was early evening and he had clearly had a tiring day and it was especially warm. I think this shows his integrity and focus on his customers; I was glad he was willing to put in the extra effort, not postpone, and we prefer to get it done than wait. Bob told me what he was going to look at, why, and kept describing his work as he went through it, as he always has. He diagnosed several possibilities, ruled out several potential problems and we agreed on the likely root cause. He checked on a couple of other small plumbing problems while he was here and solved those too, always offering suggestions that were up to me to decide later. Bob explains everything in easy to understand ways, is always genuine, and ensures that he has answered every question that we have before he leaves. Additionally, although he was on vacation a couple of days later, he showed that he really wanted to be sure we were okay by calling and confirming that the fix had solved the problem; it had.
