Recent Review: They showed up on time and were very friendly and their work was excellent. Jim was a very helpful and skilled worker and our stairs look great! Definitely worth the money and would hire them again.
Awful! There was overspray in several rooms of our house. The last time work was done was 5 months ago and the finish is completely chipping off. We spent over $5,000 and the stairs looked much better prior to the work being done. There was lots of damage to my property in rooms over 20 feet away from the stairs

I contacted Livio on Wednesday through his website, [*** Link removed ***] He called me back that evening and we talked about replacing a folding attic staircase. After ascertaining what I wanted, he gave me a quote of $375 and told me the materials needed for the job. He said he could install the stairs on Saturday, but I wasn't sure how fast I could get the stairs, so I suggested the following Saturday. He said that would be fine. I found the stairs I wanted the next day and picked it up at the store. I texted him that I had the stairs, and he once again offered to install it that Saturday. I agreed and we set a time. He and his crew arrived Saturday on time and replaced the stairs and cleaned up afterwards. He did such a good job of installing the stairs that I have noticed the attic is much colder now than past winters. I used to have to run insulating tape around the opening every year and that didn't seem to do a very good job. He also noticed a crack in the drywall tape that ran halfway across the garage ceiling. He nailed that area and caulked the whole seam. No charge. We were very pleased with his work and would definitely hire him again.

House Doctors performed quality work for a very reasonable price. The wok was completed efficiently and all area’s left clear. I ha Ltd a challenge finding a contractor to complete these small jobs, but Mike came out and assured me that they could get it done. Mike came out to review the work completed by his employee (Mark who was very good at his work), and ensured everything was completed to y satisfaction before I had to settle the bill. I would hire them again for any project I have in the future.

The railing on my staircase landing was damaged during a break-in. J & J was very professional. They answered when I called and came out to give an estimate the same day. They scheduled the actual repair within a few days and were on time and did a quality job. My husband pointed out a couple other minor repairs around the house that needed to be addressed, and J & J took care of those while they were there. I was happy with their work and would use them again.

I called Dietmar and he promptly responded to my call. I described the scope of the work and we set up an appointment for him to do the work. On the appointed day and time, I met him at the property (he was already their waiting for me) and showed him the problem area. He looked it over and explained to me what the repair would entail. He then got to work and make the repair to the stairs. He checked the entire staircase to make sure there weren't any other problems. He had me test the stairs after he repaired them to make sure I was satisfied, which I was. Dietmar pays attention to detail and you can count on him to do a good job.

Joe came out and assessed the job a couple of days after our call. Though the steps needed work, Joe said they were not in iminent danger of collapse, so we scheduled a date a few weeks away. He supplied an estimate for both the stairs and gutters, set up a time to do the stairs, and made good on his scheduled day. The gutters were reattached on a day when the weather was good, between the assessment and work on the stairs. He completed the work on the stairs in one day, as he said he would.

BThe House Doctors
I emailed, then phoned House Doctors. It took a while for them to get back to us, but then two workers came out in mid-August and surveyed the job and took some notes. We didn't set any specific times for them to work; they pretty much just showed up when they could. Eventually, I heard back from the company with a price, which we thought was pretty good. We never got a written receipt, but accepted the estimate on the phone, and we were eventually charged that amount. The two workers came out in the afternoon about mid-September and finished it within 2 days. After the first day of work, the steps were very very springy, perhaps because they did not put a third central support in and they did not use thicker wood for the treads (they used one-inch board instead of two-inch board. They said it was because the wood was wet and would dry up and be less springy; in the meantime, they would also put extra board under the treads. That was an improvement, and the paint job was nice, and matched the rest of the house. My reservations are that the treads are still a bit springy, although not as bad as before. One thing my husband and I thought was odd was that they kept running out of boards and paint--they didn't bring enough both days. So we liked the price, the guys were friendly and the work, once started, was completed quickly and neatly. But I'm still not totally convinced that the quality of the stairs are that good, and I hope they last as long as the other ones did.
