Recent Review: The owner came out and was excellent!  My husband was out of town and I was scared to death.  He was very informative, professional and  very helpful.  He was quick to answer my questions.  The work areas were neat and clean when the workers were done.   I am extremely happy with the price and  that we used JAC Electric and I would use this company again.

Recent Review: From the start this was an exceptional experience. I located this company on Angie's List. They promptly contacted me and made an appointment to inspect my home. They provided several written options for my consideration. They also pointed out a minor problem with my meter box which they would also fix. After speaking with other contractors and exchanging several email and phone inquiries with Dustin at Portman Electric I decided to go with them. Within a week of signing the contract a date was set and installation completed. They arrived timely and completed the installation in a few hours. They tested the unit and reviewed  the system operation with me. They cleaned up after completing the job leaving everything in good condition. I am sure I will hire them again for my electrical needs. What I felt most comfortable about was they are licensed electricians, were an authorized dealer and they provide the service and maintenace for the generator. I highly recommend them.

Recent Review: The OTT Electrical team was fantastic!  We had them give us an estimate of our work the week prior to scheduling.  The service tech Bill was prompt, courteous, and professional.  He explained everything that we needed to have done, and gave us a free proposal the same day.  He called as a follow-up a few days later to see if we wanted to schedule and even offered a discount because they were going to be in our area that day.  The day he arrived, he brought an apprentice worker with him who was also professional and courteous.  After a few hours of work, Bill noticed a major problem.  The team worked very hard to fix the issues the same day, even though they were not scheduled for the extra work.  He explained everything that was going on, step by step, and was professional and friendly throughout.  He answered all questions we had.  Considering all the work they performed and the time they spent to do it, we received a very reasonable bill for the work.  We would definitely call them again for any and all of our future electrical needs.  Thanks Bill, you guys did a great job!!!

FAMERICAN SECURITY ALARMS
The original contract for services and equipment was for a 3 yr term beginning Oct 2005.  According to the contract, it automatically renews every two years unless notified in writing, yet the company makes no effort to notify the customer of the expiration and renewal. My mother has since been diagnosed with Stage 3 Alzheimer's.  She does not remember anything about the contract nor does she remember where the original is.  We could not locate it either. In Oct 2011, we sold her house since she could no longer live there on her own.  The company was contacted to cancel the service and we were told either the new homeowners had to take over the contract or we would have to pay the remaining amount due on the contract.  We were never informed we had an option of writing in order to cancel without payment.  The new homeowners did not want the service so on Oct 19,2011 the company came out and removed all the security equipment. On Oct 31, 2011, the company sent a bill requesting payment of $354.88 for the remainder of the contract period which is through Oct 2012.  Wanting to know why we are being charged for services no longer required, my sister contacted them and was only told the contract is through Oct 2012 and we owe the balance. On Nov 30, 2011 I visited the company in attempt to get the full story.  I was confronted by an employee who insisted that the contract automatically extends and even though the home is no longer in my mother's possession, she still owes the balance.  I asked why they don't do better customer service by notifying in writing that the contract would be extended and why were they asking to pay for services since they pulled the equipment and knew the house was sold.  To me it was like asking for free money for doing nothing for the next year.  The only answer I got was it was all there in the contract.  Also, I was informed if we had written to them and told them she moved they would have closed the contract.  I questioned why they did not have the courtesy to tell us when they knew all about it.  My question is since the contract automatically renews would they continue billing us every two years even though the equipment and services are no longer being used? I tried to explain we knew nothing about this and my mother, having Alzheimer's, doesn't remember.  The employee confronted me that her mother has Alzheimer's also and she still remembers about these things when asked.  I could not believe that she was being that nieve about my mother disease.  I got angry with her about comparing what her mother remembers and what mine does.  Thats when the VP came out and got upset with me about treating his employee without respect and proceeded to kick me out of the property.  I said to him he has no idea what we were discussing and his response was "thats right, but I want you off my property".  Instead of providing a level of customer service to find out what the problem was and trying to come to an agreement he was throwing me out.  This is the VP of the company! We want to cancel the contract as of 10-22-11 the date the house transferred out of her name.  There is no reason we should be paying for a service she doesn't have and seems out of the scope of reality to have to pay for this.  To date they refuse to cancel the contract.

Tech arrived early and was very professional. Had estimate prepared in 1hr. Once I approved the work, 2 more techs came to help. Job was done by 5:00. They were courteous, and very knowledgeable. The price was about as low as one could expect without doing it myself.

Kingsboro was punctual, efficient, and professional. As a small business owner, Rob was customer focused and addressed all of my concerns and explained what the plan was as the wiring progressed. For example, he had the kitchen cabinet plans and tacked in the numerous recessed lighting cans, with the expectation that they may need to be moved. Indeed they did "need" to be moved by me, but only by inches to slightly alter where the counters would be lighted. Maybe picky, but he knew how to serve the customer's needs and not have to "re-do" his work. As another example, he decided to "split" the main house panel rather than cram the new circuits into the existing large panel and added power surge breakers to both [lightning strike arrestors]. All work was inspected by City of Shaker Heights, and no issues.... and Kingsboro did not whine about being inspected by the City Building Inspector, no big deal.

The Illuminating Company gave me notice that I had what they call a defective meter base. This was a condition in which the underground cables are pushed down by the pressure of the soil on them and the meter and its box is pulled off its proper position on its mounting. It can be dangerous and can cause fires. This house was built in 1969 and apparently underground cables were new and the problem wasn't recognized then, but now they provide extra cable length for slack so this shouldn't happen. Dependable removed the old meter and repositioned the cables to relieve stress, then installed a new box and meter. This is something they have experience with. I also requested a whole house surge protection device to protect against wiring and appliance damage that could result from a nearby lightning strike. This cost about $150 installed. Dependable was quick and efficient. Everyone was professional and experienced.

Outstanding is the only word. This is the type of contractor you hope to find. Bruce came over the night after I called, explained everything he was doing every step of the way, and explained how the surge had happened, and what could be done to prevent it in the future. Once we had all the replacement fixtures, he brought his crew over and performed all the work in a few hours. Bruce supervised all the work and checked everyone's work when they were done with their task. They were courteous and cleaned up after themselves. The price was also very reasonable, and installing the garage door opener saved me from having to call another service provider to have that done, which was a big time savings to me.
