Recent Review: I called H.T. Builders to get an estimate for work that I deemed to be urgent. Howard responded to my call within 30 minutes and had time that afternoon to do a site visit and evaluate the issue. The support pole in the garage was recently replaced after the old one had failed. The floor above was sagging and needed to be leveled. Howard got back to me the same day with the proposal and completed the work a week later. The support pole was adjusted to the correct height and the floor was leveled. They did a thorough inspection of in the garage attic and removed drywall in the garage to ensure there was no further damage. H.T. replaced the drywall and patched up the seams with spackle. I was very pleased with the responsiveness and the finished product. Howard was easy to work with and he was confident in remedying the problem.

Recent Review: Let me tell you that HB is absolutely phenomenal! We had water damaged drywall and HB himself came to our home did an assessment and gave us an estimate. We set a date and time and two days later HB was here with all the tools and supplies needed to complete the entire job. HB has incredible talent and skills of a true artist. The damaged drywall was removed and replaced with such skill it was as if the wall was never damaged at all! We are extremely happy with HB! If we have any drywall repair/replacement needs in the future, the first call I make will be to HB. A true professional from start to finish.

Recent Review: They were quick, prompt, professional. They did an excellent job. We're finishing our basement, we framed it ourselves, but decided to hire out the drywall for a professional look, which is what we got. No seams are evident, and they corrected some of our framing errors. Would definitely hire them again, they are also easy to deal with, friendly. They also said they do painting as well.

Recent Review: Fantastic! After reading the impressive reviews on Angie's List, I contacted Mr. Kania for an estimate in the morning and he came the same afternoon. The estimate was very reasonable and he started the job the same week, working three full days to scrape off old, peeling paint and meticulously repair numerous cracks, dents, and areas where old drywall tape had bubbled up. The ceilings look great - white, clean, smooth, and blemish-free with crisp edges where they meet the walls. Mr Kania arrived on time every day, draped cloths to protect everything in sight, covered his shoes to avoid tracking dirt in the house, and carefully tidied up each night, leaving the house dust-free. He did a very thorough and professional job and I recommend him without hesitation.

BHANDLEY HOME IMPROVEMENT
The price was very reasonable, however the drywall wasn't great. No complaints about the ceiling, but for an experienced drywall person, I wasn't impressed. We did several touch ups ourselves after he left.

AHOME REMEDIES
This was our first experience with Home Remedies and Doug did a great job with our ceiling replacement.  We had a tight deadline to complete the work and he made the time to get the job done. The work was done quickly, it was a quality job and Doug was always responsive to my calls and questions, keeping me looped in during the entire process.  I was also impressed with the job clean-up. Overall very professional and personable. We definitely plan to use Home Remedies again.

BTW Drywall
They did a good job. The price was cheaper than all of the other estimates I got. They did what we asked. We cleaned it ourselves, but they took care of what we told them to do. They were late a couple of times, but that wasn't a big deal.

They did a terrific job on all agreed upon work, making suggestions for improvement along the way, but not pushnig their ideas upon me.

AHOME REMEDIES
This is the 2nd time we contracted with Home Remedies and they pulled through again. We had a tight deadline -- less than a week - to complete this job and they finished well before our deadline. The end product was great, and Doug was very responsive whenever we called him to check status. He also helped us out quite a bit by cleaning up after all the work was completed  (and drywall dust can be a challenge to get under control.) I would recommend Home Remedies highly and we definitely plan to use them again.

FRising Height Unlimited
Working with Rising Height was the absolute worst professional experience I've ever encountered. Work we wanted done: tape and mud previously hung drywall, install 5 canned lights on existing 4-way switch, install drop ceiling, and trim out the space. We were also quoted for painting the approximately 200 sq ft space. At the time of the quote (in July) the owner said his crew could start the work within the next two weeks and predicted a one-week job. I know construction projects ALWAYS take longer than expected. Getting all the work done took 6 weeks, not 1. Part of the problem stemmed from an incomplete quote, which was our fault for missing that Rising Height didn't quote the trim install that we requested. So comparing his quote to others was apples to oranges. We opted out of having Rising Height do the painting. We signed and were promised work would begin in early August. The first project that needed completed was taping and mudding the drywall we had hung. The drywall guy was amazing, showed up on time, and came on a Sunday to complete the work that took a little longer than expected. Once the drywall work was complete, we had to call and call Rising Height to get the next crew out: lights and drop ceiling. It was supposed to be a 2-day job. We were met with sob story after sob story. This guy was in the hospital, that guy didn't show up. We were never given advanced notice of no-shows so missed several days of work waiting on a crew to never show up . Once we finally did have a crew show up, they decided that a portion of the ceiling that they were to install should have been drywalled and had to improvise to install a drop ceiling there. (That would have been nice to know when work was quoted, and we could have hung some drywall to be included in the mudding process.) We ended up installing the trim ourselves once we discovered it was not on the quote and needed the project DONE. After two weeks (not two days) of crews working off and on in our basement, the job was finally done. I wish I could say that the drop ceiling looks amazing, but many of the ceiling tiles have nicks or were cut poorly. (I acknowledge that it is an odd-shaped space, which made some cuts difficult.) They didn't have enough tiles to finish the job and we have mismatched tiles in the ceiling. Rising Height promised to deliver a few extra tiles (they have boxes in their warehouse!) to fix the mismatch, but so far, every appointment to deliver the tiles has been missed. When it came time to pay, there was a 20% fee added to the quote and not explained. We also payed an agreed upon with a 3% charge to pay by credit card. We decided to buy ourselves some ceiling tiles and wash our hands of this company. If their drywall guy worked as an independent contractor, I would totally hire him again if we needed drywall work done. He was the only positive in a long, painful experience.

BRising Height Unlimited
Mike was very responsive and conscientious in returning calls. The job ws completed on the date promised which was important as we were having house guests over the long weekend. Overall we are happy with the quality of the work.  Where I would look for improvements are: a) Scope of the job changed:  we initially opted for a drywall ceiling and the electricians he sent wired the can lights for this job. Subsequently, the person doing the actual job found out that drywall would not be possible without a lot of relocation of plumbing and HVAC ducts. I would have expected Mike to know this when he first made the estimate.  Consequently the workers had to relocate all the can lights to a different height to accommodate the acoustic tile essentially negating over 50% of the work done by the electricians. b)  Preparing the estimate: the estimate was quite confusing with cost of soffit work included in the drywall estimate and other costs included in the acoustic tile estimate.  After selecting Mike over other vendors and the work had started we had a $1100 surprise.  c) The workers installed speakers we provided in the ceiling. When I went to connect them they didn't work. I then found that the speaker wires were not connected to the speakers. Luckily I was able to remedy this - would have been an entirely different situation if we had gone with a dry wall ceiling.  My word to other customers:  check on the fine details before making the final payment.

ARising Height Unlimited
Initially I tried several vendors for estimates and had either no response or no follow-through. Rising Height did respond and said they could not take on anything else through the end of the year (this was approximately mid-November). Fast forward to February. I contacted them again and was told I could text a picture to receive an estimate. Mike then called, making arrangements to give an estimate the next Friday. On Wednesday he called saying he was nearby and if convenient could stop by that day. He did so, bringing John (his drywaller), and within a couple days Mike texted me with an estimate for ceiling repair plus one for priming/painting when done. Work was to start the following Wednesday after my daughter and I had cleared counter tops. Due to a sudden health issue we were unable to prepare the kitchen and asked to postpone the job. Mike first offered to do the prep for us, then agreed to postpone the work for a week. Thursday, March 7, Mike and Chad arrived on time, took out remaining dropped ceiling framing and drywall and replaced ceiling. Friday morning John came to finish drywall prep which took just a few hours; he was to return Saturday to sand dried compound. However, I had forgotten an appointment we had on Saturday, so Mike and John returned Friday evening to finish the ceiling. At all times during this project Mike and his team were professional, personable, and quick to respond to any concerns. The ceiling looks wonderful, the overall experience was great, and I would not hesitate to recommend Rising Height Unlimited to anyone!
