Recent Review: We have a large kitchen with an island and over 50 doors and drawer fronts. Most of my contact was with Steve Itrick and Pete Crable. Both were courteous, professional, and timely. Measurements were made, bid completed, work was done, and it was a very good experience. We did not want to buy new cabinets, or reface our existing ones. This company provided us the option to refinish our existing cabinet boxes, customize some areas of the kitchen, get new doors, drawer fronts, hardware, and countertop. It was a 'one-stop' solution that worked very well for us. Plus, all the work took one week. Any other option would have taken longer. A friend had their kitchen remodeled by this company about 3 years ago and recommended them highly. I would recommend this company. I especially appreciated their attention to detail, and answering all the questions we had.

Recent Review: I wanted help with selection of paint color, tile backsplash, and flooring for a kitchen remodel.  I had already selected a neutral cabinet color and granite countertop.  I narrowed my choice of flooring down to two or three options.  She helped to confirm the flooring shade that I was leaning toward.  I was completely clueless about the paint color for the walls especially since I selected a neutral color for the cabinets.  I had samples of yellows and reds and neutral tones but she steered me in the right direction and found a paint color that worked well with the cabinets.  This was tricky as the paint color could easily make the cabinets look gray, pink, or just plain dingy.  The color she found was just fantastic. Once the cabinets were in and the paint was on the walls I started to have second thoughts about being so monochromatic. I thought I wanted a more monochromatic look after looking at hundreds of pictures on houzz.com.  I called her back out once I had a lot of tile samples in order to pick a tile backsplash that would add even more color and contrast but not overshadow the granite too much.  She picked the same sample that I thought worked best in the space and provided some ideas about grout color. I would use Marilyn again in the future.  I thought she had good suggestions and good justification for why or why not to go in a certain direction.

Recent Review: We had a great experience with Doug. He was very good at helping us pick out what we wanted for our kitchen within our budget and willing to work with us. The only downside was that they do not paint - so if you do a remodeling project with them you have to get a painter on the side or paint yourself. Our bad experience was with the guy assigned to our project. Every single day there was some issue, whether it be that the cabinets didn't fit well, that he couldn't do our design on the back splash, that he had to cut back on this, that or the other, that the electrical work was too hard, etc. He also tended to complain about other customers to us, and we wondered if he also complained about us to the next set of clients. The worst part was one day when he flat-out told me that he doesn't have any pride in what he does, which really made me question the quality of his work. Doug and his construction supervisor were aware of the issues we had with the installer, and they did the impossible to make it right. They came and saw some of the poor quality of the work and fixed it, making sure it was done to our standards and that we were happy. At the end of the day, we had a beautiful kitchen that we enjoyed and we would never have an issue hiring Craftsmen again - as long as we get a different installer to do the work.

Recent Review: It went well. He was always there when he said he was going to be there. We were impressed with the quality of work and the fact that it stayed on budget and there were no unexpected extra costs. I also liked that he was willing to work with a designer and let us choose our own products, like cabinets, flooring, etc. I would use him again.

Recent Review: I liked his plans, but felt like the contractor was making all the decisions about who to use for the flooring, cabinets, plumbing, lighting, etc. I wanted more choices and more control about who to use and materials. He was responsive to my phone calls in a very timely manner. I would recommend Mr. Stein to anyone that wants to have the contractor make the decisions.

Business Description: I've been in business since 1985, and have a cabinet shop in Newport, KY. If a kitchen remodel is something you're considering, with my years of knowledge, eye for detail, listening and then giving to what the customer is trying to accomplish, and also benefits of a small company, personable, always reachable, in touch with every aspect of the remodel, truly enjoys what they're doing, and then the expertise of all forms of work needing done, whether demo, constructing, installing and/or finish work, electrical, plumbing without numerous contractors running through your house, you have come to the right company. A big concern of many! If a true all wood constuction cabinet, built from scatch and not mass produced is what your demands are, our quality and workmanship is guaranteed to be 2nd to none, and yet not overly priced. I've also been Dealing with NK Stone for some time now I am able to give my customers very competitive pricing in the Granite and Quartz tops as well. I enjoy doing various types of other carpentry projects as well and would describe my skills in the finish carpentry genre but not limited to. I keep my company small with minimal overhead, which keeps me very competitive along with top quality workmanship. A majority of my work comes from repeat customers. Having a cabinet shop does gives me that edge over a lot of typical construction companies, it provides me the ability to give precision craftsmanship, customizing where need. The difference that may lack in other small companies. Give us a try, I wont leave a customer unhappy!

ACINCINNATI STONEWORKS
The experience we had with Cincinnati Stoneworks was outstanding. They were VERY patient with us as we looked and looked and looked for the right granite for us. After 2 "false alarms" we settled on 2 slabs that were not even in their inventory when we started looking. We received very good advice from the team along the way. The workmanship and the polished edges are perfect. The installation team was equally outstanding. My wife and I couldn't be happier. They are also working with us on developing a tile back splash to finish the kitchen remodel project. It was very clear that our satisfaction was most important to them.

FTRISTATE LAMINATE & WOODWORKING
Very poor work in most respects. Drawers did not measure correctly. Veneer on cherry cabinet was warped and had to get another contractor to fix it. Took months longer than was promised. Microwave improperly installed. Guy had a real bad hair day which lasted for months.

We showed up at KBR without an appointment. (We'd been to so many showrooms that we forgot our contractor had told us to make an appointment.) But everyone there was very accommodating and helpful. They even took us out the "yard" to see a slab of the quartz we were interested in even after showing us tons (maybe literally) of samples. Scott and Chris, the quartz countertop installers, came on the appointed day at the appointed time and did a masterful job. You can barely see the seams! Then today, the "Formica" island countertop was delivered and installed. I didn't catch the fella's names in today's crew but they were in and out in a jiffy and the island countertop looks terrific!

AJim Carver & Sons
We just completed a kitchen remodel and we could not be happier with the result. Very professional and detailed. The workers left our home every night as if it were their own, Great attention to detail and follow up. Dave and his crew were wonderful to work with and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to remodel.

AJim Carver & Sons
We worked with Dave from Jim Carver and sons for our kitchen remodel. He was the utmost professional and worked within our budget. He never once tried to "sell" us on anything, only gave us options and his opinion. We were unsure about keeping our current cabinets or taking the plunge and getting new ones, and he worked with us to make a design that complemented our cabinets instead of trying to convince us to get new ones. He was very flexible as we change our minds about details more than once! The entire project was completed within the stated time frame. Our kitchen looks beautiful! We also want to thank Ajax for all his handyman work in prepping our kitchen ahead of time and working with the flooring company!

AJT Contracting of Northern Kentucky
John and his team were very professional, neat, and easy to work with. We ended up being out of the kitchen for about two weeks, which I thought was pretty good given the job. We modified the kitchen island, painted cabinets, installed new countertops, and replaced backsplash. John was punctual and did not have any down time where the kitchen just sat unfinished. We've had projects before where the contractor would start another job and send guys over to ours when they had the time...extending construction time significantly. Thankfully, this was not the case with John. They cleaned up after each day which was also a huge plus. I would definitely recommend JT Contracting!

Nic did a fantastic job with our kitchen.  His prices were very reasonable and he was helpful in our selection of cabinets, counter tops, flooring, lighting & appliance's. The crew was neat and clean and completed the demo and installation in 3 days!  The cabinets are high quality and have a lifetime warranty.  We couldn't be more pleased and happy with our new kitchen!

AJim Carver & Sons
I hired Jim Carver & Sons for a kitchen remodel. The project required the removal of two small walls to open up my floorplan and the wall removal required re-routing of several HVAC vents. At the initial meeting, my kitchen was measured and photographed. About 1 week later, my new design was ready for review. We signed the contract in April and the project began in June. The bulk of the project only took 5 days (demo and new cabinet installation). We were given a temporary sink for 2-3 weeks while we waited for the counters. Once the counters were installed, the sink and dishwasher were installed that the backsplash was laid. The project was painless and even came in under budget. I'd hire Jim Carver & Sons again in a heartbeat. Adam Kelley was my rep and Gary was my crew leader. Both were fantastic to work with!
