Recent Review: After receiving a very competitive estimate from Mr. Mendez, we dicided to hire his team to paint our interior living space. Our living room is the largest room in the house. The walls are 20 ft. tall, and at least 20 ft wide. The adjacent hallways (4 halls) are about 12 - 17 ft long. We recieved 3 other estimates from other contractors/painters listed on Angie's List, however Mendez Painting were by far the cheapest (including paint). The job called for 2 paint colors; one accent wall, and the 2nd color would cover all other walls, as well as the adjacent hallways. Mr. Mendez showed up on day 1 with 2 other painters. They began to prep the walls by removing light switch covers, vent covers, taping, and drywall repair. The first coat of paint was done on day 1. We used a satin paint so just about every inperfection in the wall will be visible. There was some areas where I was not completely satified with the quality of repair of the drywall, in which areas had not been sanded down. I did point these items out to Mr. Mendez on day 2, which only included himself and 1 other guy. He agreed with me of course and without hesitation, they began to re-sand these areas and fixed any other items I had pointed out to him. We decided after the first day that we didn't like the satin finish on our accent wall, but instead choose to apply a matte finish of the same color. Mr. Mendez saw no problem with applying the matte paint over the satin, and obliged our request with no complaints or extra fees. The second coat was completed on day 2, and we were very happy with the progress, as well as the decision to change the paint finish on the accent wall. The job was originally estimated for 2 whole days, 8 AM to 5 PM. However Mr. Mendez agreed to come by 1 more day to touch up a few things and clean a few areas that were not caught on day 2. He did not ask for payment until we were satisfied that all work was completed as expected. Some cons to point out, and explain why I gave Mendez Painting a grade of C for Punctuality and Professionalism, was because they arrived about a half hour late each day. Also, they used our exterior water faucet in the front of the house to clean their brushes, without my permission. Therefore, I had paint in my flower bed. I had not noticed this until a few days later. Luckily, there were no flowers planted at the time. We did not bring this up with Mr. Mendez, because it was not a deal breaker for us. Overall, we are very happy with the end result. The price was unbeatable. Although, you sacrifice a bit of quality and meticulousness for the price. Mr. Mendez listened to all our requests, and if there was anything wrong, he addressed the issue and made it right. I would recommend Mendez Painting & Remodeling to anyone that needs a simple job done fast, and cheap. I would use his services again in the future.
