Recent Review: The demolition went as planned taking half a day.   The instal of the ceramic tile was a bit frustrating.  It was really a two man job but only one installer was assigned and he literally worked from 8am to 11pm without stopping.  The biggest problem encountered was that the installer was cutting both tile and thin set (sub flooring) in the house due to the low outside temperatures.  This raised a dust storm coating every item in my house with an ultra fine layer of white dust.  Had I been more aware and savvy, I would have insisted on cutting outdoors an/or erected plastic around the doorways to mitigate the dust. The installer should have known better, but due to my naivety I did not realize until the job was completed what a mess was made of the house. (imagine opening a 20 pound bag of flour on the floor and turning on a fan) The actual install itself was good.  There were a couple ill-cut tiles and a few patches of grout that could have been thicker. Marcelo, the company owner, offered to rectify both problems immediately but they were not apparent enough for me to warrant more demolition/installation work.  By then I was ready to move on to cleaning and restoring the house.   The house required a complete top to bottom cleaning.  Everything from a paperclip to picture frame was coated in white powder.  In Marcelo's defense he was quite apologetic and offered to send a cleaning crew to detail my house free of charge (Marcelo also operates a cleaning service). We coordinated a time and his crew arrived.  I must say, they did a very good job deep cleaning the house.  No detail was missed and the house has probably never been that clean before. In summary, the project went well overall.  I am happy with the look of the tiles and the clean-up crew.  I would recommend putting up plastic over doorways to isolate the project area.  The installer should never be cutting tile or thin set inside.  Anything over 100 square feet will require two people or one person two or more days for the install alone.

Recent Review: National was great. They were able to start earlier than expected and the vinyl plank floors are beautiful. They even replaced the sub-floor in one of the rooms and removed some unlevel tile at no additional cost.

Recent Review: The salesman came to my home with samples and took measurements and quoted a price. He assured me that the laminate flooring would work well in my kitchen & bathroom and that it could be installed right over my existing flooring. When the workmen arrived @ my home, after accessing my kitchen floor (ripping up part of the floor) they determined that they would be unable to install the flooring in the kitchen & bath as the salesman had quoted. They told me I would have to have someone come out, rip up the existing floor and install a new subfloor. I called Robin the customer service representative, she had spoke to the workmen already. She told me that the workman would rip up the kitchen floor, install a new subfloor and install my new laminate flooring. She they would do this because they had started to rip up my kitchen floor but I would have to have the bathroom floor taken care of myself. The salemen would never tell me how he arrived @ the price he quoted.

They came in higher than the other company. Also, the other company was more itemized in their bid. Bo Lacey was very cordial, however, the estimator didn't take down everything that I wanted done.

AFredericksburg Builders
Over the years we have undertaken many renovations to the homes in which we have lived. To do the renovation of our patio room into an all-season room, we spent a month interviewing six different builders and getting estimates. We liked how thorough Fredericksburg Builders were in discussing with us our ideas for our all-season room. We were also impressed with how they itemized and presented the contract to us. They offered ideas, and listened to our ideas and revisions throughout the planning period. When we finally decided upon the plans for the renovation their construction supervisor was very thorough in going over the contract  to make sure that we were all on the same page. Their estimate of the cost was the most economical of all the contractors we interviewed. Once the construction started, the crews arrived on time to begin the demolition of the old patio enclosure. From that point forward, all materials for the construction were delivered on time and on site for the crews to promptly begin work. All of the crews that worked on our project had a good work ethic, were polite, and cleaned up the site after their workday. Crews were diligent about not damaging our rubberized surface around the pool area by having plywood covering the area throughout the project. The heating system was somewhat of a challenge. We had hot-water radiant heat in the floor of the existing family room. For the new addition, we wanted to extend the radiant heat to the new portion of the all-season room. The heating contractor, Alpine Heating, evaluated the existing system and devised a means of connecting the radiant floor heating to the existing water boiler. All the crews were knowledgeable and efficient. They did an outstanding job laying the new tile after they had ripped up the old. The siding, doors, and windows were installed skillfully. But, what was really impressive was that they retrieved some of our old exterior bricks to finish off the fireplace in a manner we never expected so that it is a feature of the new all season room. The gate to our fence around the pool which the new all season room faces when finished looked like the original. What was exceptional was how the construction supervisor was always on top of things, willing to listen, and was concerned with how the end result would meet our expectations! We can only say that the addition of the new all season room far exceeded our expectations!

FMARTIN INTERIORS
I own an active Night Club and full menu Family Restaurant called 3 Amigos Restaurant & Cantina in Wooster Ohio. I asked Martin Interiors, a local floor and interior renovation company  to come in and provide an estimate on the installation of a complete tile floor. A total of 3500 Sq. ft. I asked for a non-slip durable surface tile. "James", (I understand one of the owners of Martin Interiors) came in with 4 samples of which all 4 would meet my requirements he assurred. We selected a very attractive tile made by Laufen Tile Company. It was not the most pricey of the 4,  however price was not an issue. I chose it for the asthetic value.  Additionally I wanted a foot stool for the people sitting at the bar made of the same material tile. He (James) said it could be done. Martin Interiors was not the lowest bid for the job I received, however, I was under the impression they were a very reputable company and most important they were local. I see their ads all over the place. They are a mainstay in this small community. I chose Martin Interiors to do the job. I know nothing about laying tile or anything associated with tile and I made this very clear to James. I asked him for his guidence in constructing the foundation for the foot rest which Martin Interiors would place their tile. I had the foundation constructed by very experienced individuals under his guidence. After the foundation was complete I asked him to take a very good look at what had been done and if this was good enough for him to place his tile on top of. He answered yes and the job proceeded. It is important to make note my building used to be an old truck garage and had a concrete floor which I painted for cleanliness. The paint had to be removed and was part of the job. Martin Interiors (actually James Himself operated the stripper) stripped the paint then proceeded to put down material called I believe is called thinset. After the job was complete, it looked beautiful. We spared no expense and even moved the entire bar which is over 65 foot long so he could place tile completely underneath it so it could go from wall to wall.  A few weeks later one of the tile broke and I called james to repair it as per our agreement. I noticed a lot of the tile had a hollow sound when tapped. I brought this to his attention and he stated it was normal for a few to pull away and he would come and fix them when they broke. After a few more breaks and a few more fixes, he stated he could not keep coming down to fix everyone which broke for the rest of the tile life. This surprized me as the floor was only a few weeks old. Approximately 3 months later my father fell termanally ill and I had to leave for Mexico. While I was there, one of the vertical tiles which had been part of the bar foot rest fell off. I called James from Mexico and stated he would come look at it and call me after his inspection. Later that afternoon I received a call from James and he stated something called cement board should have been installed on the foot rest prior to placement of the tile. Further he stated I would keep having trouble with the tile as the frame was not sturdy enough. I reminded him the frame was placed under his direction and received his approval prior to the work continuing. I asked what could be done to fix the problem. Hestated the problem could be fixed for an additional 600 dollars and he would be glad to do it. I asked him why he didn't tell me about this "Cement Board" prior to completeing the job to which he had no real answer. He asked me for permission to purchase the cement board and fix the foot stool. I told him I expected the foot stool to be fixed at his cost. Additionally I told him there were too many tiles with hollow sound and after some research had concluded this was not  normal. I wanted them fixed as well. Of course he refused. The tile is still falling apart. We did settle in court for 10K  3 years later. I spent 4K on an attorney to get the 10K. so it didn't really help much. This is not a reputable company and all members of this community should be aware of what happenned to me. If anyone would like to contact me personally i would be very happy to relate my story first hand. As they do say, buyer beware. Martin Interiors are a scam outfit. Jose G Arriaga 3 Amigos Restaurant and Cantina LLC Wooster Ohio. , 3 Amigos Restaurant & Cantina. They were not  the lowest bid. However I selected them because they were local and I thought had a good reputation. They are not a small Company. I asked for a non slip surface tile and also a durable tile. james brought in 4 Samples which James said would all do the job I requested.
