JIM INSTALLED A COLOMBIA LAMINATE FLOOR IN AN AREA APPROXIMATELY 206 SQUARE FEET. HIS PRICE BEAT THE COMPETITION SIGNIFICANTLY AND HE WORKED HARD TO INSTALL THE FLOOR QUICKLY AND PROFESSIONAL. JIM STRESSES HE PREFERS TO USE MATERIALS FROM A CERTAIN SUPPLIER AND THEY DO CARRY CERTAIN BRANDS OF LAMINATE FLOORS, BUT THE FLOOR WE HAD PLANNED TO INSTALL WAS NOT ONE OF THEIR BRANDS. JIM BROUGHT SAMPLES AND WE WERE ABLE TO SELECT A COMPARABLE PRODUCT. JIM'S SAMPLES WERE A SMALL SECTION OF FLOOR COMPARED TO THE SAMPLES MOST STORES CARRY AND HE DID NOT CARRY ALL COLORS. WE VISITED A COMPETITOR TO SELECT COLOR AND THEN ORDERED FROM THE COMPANY HE PREFERRED. JIM'S ESTIMATES ARE BROKEN DOWN BY ITEM SO YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO NEGOTIATE PRICE IF YOU CAN DO SOME OF THE WORK. HE WAS PLEASANT AND PROFESSIONAL AND WE WOULD RECOMMEND HIM.

BHOMETOWN FLOORING & INTERIORS
WENT TO HOMETOWN TO REPLACE OUR KITCHEN AND DINING ROOM FLOOR WITH VINYL FLOORING. HOMETOWN OFFERS A LARGE SELECTION OF THE TOP BRANDS OF VINYL FLOOR. THE ASSISTANT MANAGER AND THE OWNER ARE EXTREMELY COURTEOUS, KNOWLEDGEABLE, AND HELPFUL. THEY PROVIDED AN ESTIMATE ON VINYL FLOOR WHICH WAS COMPARABLE TO OTHER COMPANIES, HOWEVER, WE DECIDED TO INSTALL LAMINATE FLOORING INSTEAD. THE ESTIMATE WE RECEIVED ON LAMINATE FLOORING WAS OUTRAGEOUSLY MORE EXPENSIVE THAN OTHER COMPANIES. WE ENDED UP HIRING SOMEONE TO COMPLETE THE JOB FOR 1/2 THE PRICE HOMETOWN QUOTED. IT PAYS TO SHOP AROUND.

THEY ARE EXTREMELY CUSTOMER SERVICE ORIENTED AND NOT PUSHY. THEY BROUGHT SAMPLES TO OUR HOME AND PICKED THEM UP, WERE PROMPT IN RETURNING PHONE CALLS AND VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT THEIR PRODUCTS. WE ULTIMATELY CHOSE TO BUY A PRODUCT THEY DID NOT CARRY. WE ARE PLANNING ON PURCHASING CARPET FROM THEM. THEIR PRICES ON LAMINATE FLOORS INSTALLED ARE LOWER THAN MOST. WE WOULD NOT HESITATE TO RECOMMEND THEM.

CCarpet King - Linworth
THEY HAVE A LARGE SELECTION OF THE TOP BRANDS IN LAMINATE FLOOR, SO ALL COLOR SAMPLES FROM VARIOUS MANUFACTURERS CAN BE COMPARED AT ONE PLACE. THE SALES MANAGER WAS LATE FOR ESTIMATE APPOINTMENT AND LATE IN RETURNING CALLS BUT SHE WAS KNOWLEDGEABLE, HELPFUL, AND COURTEOUS. WE DID NOT CHOOSE THIS COMPANY BECAUSE SEVERAL OTHERS OFFERED BETTER PRICES.

First of all the came in ripped up all old carpeting layed flooring barrier without checking if floor was level...they never even bothered to sweep the underneath floor. They broke my dishwasher and plumbing valve in the process. As the floor went down they didn't under cut door jams they just cut the flooring around them leaving huge gaps that even corner round wouldn't cover...their solution was they will mix glue and saw dust to fill the gaps. Of course not being happy with the floor I ask that they removed it and started over, In which they did but in the process the workers were so upset for having to be back on the job and not getting pd again they ripped all the board out breaking tougue and groove locks leaving them unable to be used tearing up my drywall and breaking some of the oak trim. Also this time I asked that trim was to be removed they did all the while I was promised by business owner that they would bring a flooring professional in to make sure job was done correct, the same guys showed both days so I ask them to leave and now have had to hire someone else. New contractor tried using old boards none of the 17 boxes worth that I originally purchased could be used so I had to purchase more costing another 1000.00 in materials plus new labor cost, new dishwasher, plumbing work tons of drywall work etc.

They were very friendly and considerate. They did a good job. They removed all of the furniture and than put it all back for me. I had an area that was scratched that they came back and fixed it for me.

The price show does not include the flooring cost. The crew sent to install our bamboo flooring were ill equipped both with tools and experience to installed laminate flooring. They sawed the boards with a blade so dull that it burnt the wood instead of cutting. The smoke as so thick as to be choking. Good thing I had an area that allowed them to work outside the home. The saw blade ran red hot and I have concerns about the integrity of the laminate. The flooring was installed so the the board ends were aligned. They should have a random pattern. The molding was blunt cut instead of mitered. Many pieces were split when nailed. They lacked a simple table saw to cut pieces lengthwise. They instead used a handheld saber saw. This resulted in jagged cuts that they depended upon the molding to hid. Carpet to laminate transition was poorly done. The carpet at several room doorways is lumpy or sunken. Complaints to Lowes have resulted in them hiring another installer to tear out the flooring and re-install.

We purchased carpeting and laminated flooring from Joe (the owner). We understand the carpeting to be of pretty good quality. Joe had his installer rip up an oak floor which was glued down, used some 1/4 inch plywood and leveling cement to get connecting floor levels to about match, installed the laminate in our dining room and carpet in living room. The installer moved furnature and replaced just as it was. Kept work area clean while working and cleaned up after he was done. Both rooms together are roughly 670 square feet so that makes the total cost a little under $5.00/sq ft. We thought that price was a little high but I suppose I t hink that about most everything we buy these days. We absolutely got a good job, everyone involved was curtious and treated us with respect.

On 3/19 Chris Huhn (owner) came with flooring samples, measured, and provided a free estimate within hours of visiting my home. The next day, I met Chris and Marsha in the showroom to look at larger samples and brought a couple home to evaluate. I signed an agreement within 2 days of Chris's original visit. Marsha called to let me know that the job probably would not be done until late April because they were unable to obtain the material locally. I was pleasantly surprised when she called at the end of March to let me know they had located the flooring and it was available to install install immediately. Brian arrive on 4/2 and within 4 hours my entire kitchen floor was replaced, new toe strips installed, and everything cleaned up. I was so pleased with the flooring results, I failed to notice a toe molding had been installed by the exterior door sill. It was effective but not pleasing to my eye. Marsha, Chris and I discussed the reason for the molding and alternatives. Brian came, removed the molding and caulked that edge. I could not be more pleased with the final result and with the service provided by the entire Hometown Flooring team.

Ordered the carpet and the quality and installation of the carpet were alright, however, the kitchen laminate was not installed professionally. The laminate was not put all the way under the dishwasher, which resulted in the door closing of it being affected, as well as not being able to re-install the floor front "plate". The quarter round appears to have been installed by an amateur and is downright "embarrassing". I was promised over and over that they would start the job, only to be put off with tons of flimsy excuses. He would not even show up until 11:30 a.m. and when he did, he had one helper who did approx. 80% of the total work, while the owner, Bob, talked non stop about his aches and pains, or was on the cell phone with other customers. He would also tell me about "his other impending jobs" and how he needed my money to purchase THEIR materials! This was a two day job and was like "pulling teeth" to get through. On day two, after being here approx. three hours, he informed me he needed to leave to go pick up a check in a neighboring town. I told him in no uncertain way that I wanted MY job completed, and when I voiced this, his "helper" offered to stay to get the job done. My advice to anyone needing flooring.....stay away from this guy! I could of phoned him to come back to make "it right", however, I don't want this guy anywhere near my home again, so we'll have it corrected ourselves.
