Recent Review: I saw their display at the Cleveland Great Big Home & Garden show and filled out a card for them to contact me to do an estimate. They promptly called and the estimate was set-up for 2/27/15. Michael Gehrisch was running about 15 mins late and was courteous enough to call and let us know. He was very polite, sociable and professional. He did a thorough job of measuring all the cabinets and shelving that we wanted refaced/replaced. He showed us a video of the product manufacturing and demonstrated the durability of the cabinet doors. There were many options to choose from as far as style and color. We settled on what we liked and he proceeded to run the numbers. The one thing we didn't think of was the Toe Kick along the bottom of the cupboards. He asked if black was ok, but we wanted oak to match the rest. They didn't have oak, so we said black would be ok though I don't think I would've liked it. This is where I had a problem with Thiel's and it had nothing to do with Michael, it is the company itself that has this practice. We were asked to guess how much it would cost. We didn't want to guess, we just wanted a price, however I guessed $15,000 (this being our 1st estimate). The price came out to $18,022 but the factory pricing is $16,201 plus we had a $500 off coupon which put us at $15,701 (for 30 days). We also were asked to read a paper they had explaining that it costs them money to do return visits and if we signed today we would get an initial visit discount. So if we signed that day it would be $14,445. Being a large cost project and being the first estimate and only product I'd seen I wanted to wait to get my other estimates and products to look at before committing. In my opinion, expecting a customer to make that big of a decision so quickly is not putting the customer first. Return visits cost money and that is part of business. I like companies that don't play games, just give me their best honest price and let me decide what I want to do on my time schedule. This type of marketing must work for a lot of people but it's not for me. But again, Michael did do a very good job otherwise.
