Recent Review: Arcbazar offers a very unique service. I was looking for some interior design ideas for a new home. There are many interior designer's that offer consultation services. They provide color options, ideas for furniture etc. Whats cool about arcbazar, however, is that it works based on a competition that you create on their website. Instead of getting one designer providing you one concept, you get multiple submissions from different interior designers. I created a competition to provide interior design ideas for my family room/kitchen area. I ended up getting 13 different design ideas. What I was impressed with was the quality of some of the submissions. Many of the designers submitted full color 3 dimensional layouts that made it a lot easier to visualize the design. They also provided a list of furniture, paint and accessory options. Overall I was very pleased with the results. Just be aware that you have to be reasonable about your award amount. You cant enter something like $50 and ask for a full interior design of your whole house. When creating your competition the website will give you a suggested award amount. This suggested award is based on the square feet of the area you wish to design. My only gripe with the service was their website. It's a bit rough around the edges and at times their site was very slow. Sometimes it could be frustrating to use. The only reason I didnt give the service all A's.

Recent Review: Roberta was great to work with. She was able to pick colors we had not been able to see within our own home. We were able to incorporate some window treatment into the design she helped with. The blinds we purchased through her were great. Very sturdy, easily installed and color was exact to sample. She did consult us on some solid surface counters, but we are going to due that at another time.

It went really well. She did a good job. She was very friendly and personable. She answered all my questions in a timely manner. She gave me plenty of ideas but also listened to what I really wanted. She was extremely responsive.

Michael is very professional, on time, respectful and patient! He provided me with bids for each step explaining solutions, and. as I am on a fixed income, worked with me two days to resolve all the issues completely to my satisfaction! I am looking forward to engaging him to improve the electrical status of the house and would highly recommend him to everyone. He was referred to me by the realtor. Remind me to send her a thank you note! Oh, and he also replaced a broken screw on my garage door handle and fixed the handle! Above and beyond, don't you think!

No written estimate from the beginning (only verbal), my mistake. Final cost was about 2x what was said to us "may" cost. However, the final cost was still within high market value. (IMO). My lesson, NEVER NEVER again will I have home repairs done without a written estimate. Besides the obvious price establishment, it also tells me something about the professionalism (or lack of) of the business. The project(s) should have taken 7-10 days at most, but this got drug out over two months. He would come for an hour then leave, then show up 3-4 days later, work another hour or two, then leave. Very hard to get on the phone or return calls. We had to adjust our schedule to be at home when we THOUGHT he was going to work, but days and days went by and we didn't see or hear from him. He charged us "time on the job" for shopping for his materials. (Is this normal??) Our house was torn up for the repair, and we were "stuck" with his whim schedule. In the end, our dining room was torn up for at least 10 days (or more) while he was completely AWOL. Then he finally showed up and threw together the cabinet in about 45 minutes, then disappeared. He just left, we haven't seen him or heard from him since. The cabinet was installed very poorly, chips in the wood. There were two interior lights that were not installed. In short, the work was not completed, and what he DID do was very shabby. (see attached photos) Did we call him back? No, we were glad to be done with him. I will get someone else more reputable to come over and repair his work.
