Recent Review: Randy repaired a shower valve that had not been installed correctly by another plumber. The valve was not seated properly and would not shut off completely. Rather than provide a quick fix, he diagnosed the problem. This was more than what I think most would have offered me. He explained things thoroughly and offered me a very fair price for the work he provided.

Jeremy was prompt and thorough. He advised which shower head to purchase. He replaced drywall where hole was cut and cleaned up afterward. Shower works great.

We were remodeling our bathroom and bought a new shower valve from Lowe's. We called Steve Jones Plumbing to come install it. The plumber arrived right on time and immediately got to work. The valve came with thread-on style fittings. He used the thread-on style fittings and soldered them as well for extra protection. It was a very neat, professional installation. He offered to come back in a couple weeks when we finish the remodel to install the last fitting needed for the tub faucet so he could be sure to get the distance from the wall tile correct. He was very polite and professional and price was good too.

Although the service tech who's name was never reveiled, did make the repair. It took 1.5 hours with a great deal of trouble shooting. He did identify the 10 year old Moen Valve but did not have full knowledge of its function. I eventually ID the specific part (mixing spool) using Google. I feel I was charged for his product training.. So the "deal" I purchased from Angies list was not such a deal. I purchased $39 for a service call that included an additional $39 worth of service work. Basically $78 going into the call. I was charged an addtitional $135 with no parts purchased. The total: $174 out of pocket and additional $39 perceived expenditure. Total of the two $213. The repair was to break free a locked up mixing spool. Had the service technician had knowledge of the mixing spool function the service call would have been much shorter and not involved deassembling the other shower valve in my house. I am OK with him learning and OK with the extra time it took. However, I am not OK with paying for it. It is a fair expectation that the visiting plumber would be experienced in most modern valves. Additionally wonder if a simple call to one of his co workers could have shortened the learning curve?? He was courteous. I think he was resourcefull in his repair method once the spool was identified as such. He did maintain a clean work area and took care to keep the floors clean.

Flow Rite was out to install a completely new shower back in February time frame. As of mid October we noticed that the shower head was leaking before we even pulled the pin to turn the shower on. They came back out to investigate their work from February and decided the shower valve wasnt working properly. They replaced the valve at no charge since we had just bought one in February from them. They have been great to work with each time we have had to use them and would definitely use them again in the future.

Our house is 40 years old with original plumbing in the barthrooms upstairs. We noticed a leak in our kitchen ceiling and found Paul from Angie's list. I gave him a call and he came out within a couple of days to look at our leak. He was very professional and clean with his work. Paul was able to replace our valve in a few hours and have our bathroom looking cleaner than when he arrived. We are going to have Paul do the plumbing work when we remodel the two upstairs bathrooms and will also recommend him to others.
