Recent Review: He works by the hour so his estimate was approximate. In fact, with materials, sales tax, and an extra or two (garage door, some minor carpentry repair) the final total was just below his estimate. This was less than half the cost of the estimates we got from three other contractors. We could not be happier with his work. He communicated well--when weather forced delay, asking where he might leave his tools, etc. He was pleasant and friendly and polite. He was willing to adjust his schedule to our needs. He worked quietly--no music or radio. He was careful of our plants. He worked quickly. And the work seems excellent. I understand that he prefers to paint interiors, but will do some exteriors. As he did for us.

Recent Review: It went great!!!  I had all the paint ahead of time and they came on a Thursday to prime all the walls.  They were quiet and went right to work.  My baby was able to take her nap in the very next room with no fuss. Friday they came back and did the ceiling and trim and then they returned on Saturday to put the coats on the walls.  They were very courtious and If I hire out any painting in the future they will be sure to get the job... Thanks Gary!!!

Recent Review: They were very professional. The supervisor was incredibly friendly and honest. They were just a very easy company to work with. They are a little more expensive then others but it is worth it.

DA-1 Painting Contractors
He promised to caulk the house prior to painting it. Afterwords he claimed that he never discussed caulking and it would cost extra. He provided paint sample colors for my shutters and confirmed the color. Later, he said that the price of the shutters was not included in his original quote. He initiated and confirmed the color of the trim and doors, but did not paint it because he again claimed it was not included in his quote. Unfortunately, I didn't have a written contract, but he did boast that he was highly rated on Angie's List. He power washed that house on Tuesday and started painting on Wednesday. The exterior of the house was Cedar so it had to have been wet when he started. I have never heard of a painter that didn't caulk before he painted. I feel like this was a very rushed job and I was taken advantage of.

It went very well.  I had gotten three quotes from highly-rated A.L. contractors and theirs was competitive.  The proposal and contract were detailed, which I like (no ambiguities).  They came when they said they would, the crew were excellent and really hard-working.  In fact, they worked all through the July 4th holiday weekend to get it done which was fine with us. The only negative, and it really is relatively minor, is that communications were awkward.  There weren't a lot of calls and emails to them but each one took several days for them to respond.  I would have preferred a call back and email replies the same day. Definitely a classy company and worth hiring.

Excellent! David Wright and crew began work on Labor Day in order to accommodate my schedule. My wife and I left for vacation at the end of the week and hoped for completion by Friday afternoon.. They worked extra hours on very hot days (above 90) and completed the job on Thursday. The house looks beautiful and shows the quality and professionalism of Kevin Herington painting. The crew was friendly, cooperative and skilled. We are very pleased with the job and would definitely hire Kevin Herington Painting again.

FTorrey Painting Company
Torrey Painting Company offered a powerwash coupon here on the website for your home.  I utilized that coupon and waited for Torrey Painting Company to respond.  I didn't hear from them for a few days so I contacted them via phone.  I received a response within 48 hours after calling them myself, the owner claimed that he did not know he had a coupon on Angies List and also claimed he never received a confirmation email of my purchase.  After that first phone call, Torrey Painting Company decided to try to "figure out" how they get paid from the coupon on here.  I again never heard back from them so after a couple weeks I contacted them to find out the status.  The owner claimed he could not resolve it.  I decided to call Angies List myself and find out how the coupon works and the process was very easy to understand and I was able to reach someone within just a couple of minutes of calling.  The owner of Torrey Painting Company claims he was incapable of accomplishing that task.  I called the owner back and informed him of how the coupon process works and that someone from Angies List would also be contacting him to make sure he understood how the coupons work.  Another couple days go by and I received no response from Torrey Painting Company so I called them, again.  This time the owner claimed he never heard from anyone but was willing to honor the coupon price (he had to ask me how much it was because he claims he didn't know about it.)  After that, the process of getting Torrey Painting Company out to do the service was still a bit of a challenge.  Initially, the date that was set was 9-13-14.  They never showed up, but the owner arrived unannounced later that evening to "reevaluate" his estimate.  His estimate went up in price which actually turned into a quote.  Since it was a quote I decided to go with it since now the price could not rise any further and the owner said he would do the service the following day.  After powerwashing our home and gutters he tried to negotiate for more money.  Nothing had changed, the time-frame that he was here and everything was as planned so I did not understand why he wanted another $50.00.  He had agreed to be paid $300 that day and since he could not figure out how to work with Angies List (not believable) he was fine with waiting for me to get a refund for the coupon that I prepaid for and I would mail him the other $100.  However, after doing the service he wanted another $50 on the spot in addition to the $300 already paid.  In addition, his work damaged our home...he broke a porch light, bent a shutter, bent some metal housing around our front windows and somehow managed to blow our fuse in our garage so now our garage door and freezer do not work.  The owner had promised professionalism and care, this was not evident in his work.  We now have to spend almost as much in repairs for our home as we did for his service.  We were having the house powerwashed because it is going on the market...these repairs are now an unnecessary expense and hold-up.  I tried to reach the owner regarding these repairs in order to work something out but he has become unresponsive.
