Recent Review: Stephen is great! We live in an older home (1880) and installing the shower door required leveling, as well as fixing a leaking pipe. Stephen was able to get creative and install/fix everything perfectly. He is very knowledgeable, will definitely ask him back as more projects arise.

Recent Review: We had a leaky shower which needed to be replaced and decided to install tile for the shower and floor, and also to replace the shower faucet, doors and toilet. Mensur and his crew completed the job and the bathroom looks great! They offered expert advice on our materials, which enabled us (who know nothing about bathroom building supplies) to pick out quality parts to install. We could trust them to tell us when something was low quality, and should be swapped rather than installed only to break soon after. They were on time each day, friendly, professional and kept us informed as to what was happening. We would absolutely hire again the next time we have similar work to do.

Recent Review: The owner and helper arrived on time on the date agreed.  They arrived in a fully marked vehicle and had company logo shirts which I think is important when going to people's homes. It shows that it is a professionally run business.  They made sure to review manufacturer instructions which I thought was good as there are so many variations of products on the market.  They were thorough and did not leave even a hint of debris behind.  The end result was very satisfactory to both my wife and i and we would definitely contact Halfmoon handyman again.

Recent Review: Overall, they did a great job at what I contracted them to do. I had them install a new Shower Door in my bathroom. They were very good at communications when it came to scheduling and also fitting me in their schedule to complete the work. The worker they sent was clean and professional.   I did not use them for the window repairs/replacement The owner/manager was very polite as well. As for rates, they charge from the time they leave their shop, actual work time was 2 hours travel time charged was 3/4 of an hour at $75.00 per hour

Recent Review: Peter Ziamandanis helped us scope out the project, offered floor plan ideas, provided a professional contract, detailing the scope, listing items to be purchased by homeowner, and with a milestone payment schedule. Final floor plan helped us get the most out of the space we had to work with. Offered great suggestions for which stores to shop for good deals. We found Tavertine stone at the Bargain Outlet at $4/sf which we would not have been able to afford otherwise. Demo went faster than expected. Good daily cleanup; especially when sheetrock dust being made. Left things neat and tidy. Dumpster provided was large enough to allow us to do some house purging. Good communication throughout the project. Crews showed up when Peter said they would. Good crews; electrical, plumber, dry wall, tile work, and shower door installation. All tradesmen were very professional. Excellent workmanship! beautiful finished master bath and downstairs bath. Peter Z. is very detail oriented, especially with molding. He installed "picture frame" molding throughout the bathroom and toilet closet, chair rail, and crown molding. New doors installed to replace the older style Luan doors. Suggested ceiling color to make the crown molding "pop". Project completed on time - it took approximately 6 weeks which is what Peter said it would. Crews worked expeditiously toward completion in a logical sequence. No rework was needed. Peter charged less than his estimate for the downstairs bath. $3,300 reduced to $2,900.  Upstairs bath was completed and paid acording to the contract payment schedule. Good system of tracking progress payments. No suprises. Offered ideas for other projects we have been contemplating; roof gutters, chimney repairs, tree removal; he checked pricing on our roof replacement project and offered names of contractors to do the work. Very knowledgeable.

Recent Review: Since we would be away when the work was being done it was important that we had someone that we felt understood our plans and that we could trust to carry them out.  Parts of our plan depended on "what was found" when plumbing etc was revealed. Of 4 people that gave estimates, Brad  Bischoff was the only one that gave  us good evidence in discussing the features of the house  to believe that our plan could be carried out.  He helped us think through details that we were not sure about, and we felt a lot of confidence in his expertise.  We also talked to several companies in the Capitol District that provided cabinets and wares for his projects and they were very complimentary about him and also said they knew just what parts he would want etc.   He sent us pictures during different phases of the project, and we spoke when necessary.  When we got home, after being away for two months, the bathroom and new closet were complete. We were awed with how great everything looked. Brad came after we were home to go over the work with us and make some final installation of rods and shelves. We had two concerns within the first few months and he responded immediately.   We found a great roofer, chimney liner service, and fence company  from Angie's list and are happy to pass on this information to support these services.

All new fixtures installed, fan vented to outside, new corner shower with rounded door that slides open and close, new toilet, new vanity, floor, etc. Second major job we had Bennett do for us this year. Same carpenter (Dennis) as prior job, who we could not praise enough for his hard work, keeping us informed, and returning to fix one minor problem with the shower door. Only problem with install was wrong vanity was ordered, which delayed job for a couple of weeks. Quality of work was great, as expected from our previous family room remodel. Bennett is a class outfit and I would highly recommend them.

Mensur & his workers did a great job with this large remodelling/painting job (took almost a full week). I had also included doing a bunch of miscellaneous work such as replacing most of the lighting fixtures in the home, and replacing both a shower door and a screen door attached to our kitchen. Mensur was as flexible with his time and willing to do small things I had asked such as replace bathroom fittings/ fixtures, and refinish a damaged door for us, very easy to work with. He also had a couple of ceilings and rooms repainted at no cost, just because he felt it didnt look right, you wont find this kind of concern for the customer with many contractors. The house came out looking great, as the ice dam damage had the place looking horrible with water stains and ruined drywall in several rooms. LMN also refinished our master bedroom, removing a 'popcorn' ceiling and repainting the entire master bedroom & bathroom, this came out looking like a new house, fantastic. Mensur and his crew are polite, and flexible to work with, very professional and punctual, and accountable to the customer. I highly recommend their services, in fact we are getting a quote from LMN to refinish our central staircase and hall with hardwood.

It?s been four months since the bathroom renovation by Atherton Construction was completed. It has been an experience both in how contractor?s work and the intricacies in home improvement. I contacted the contractor after seeing a bathroom renovation as a ?big deal? promotion. There was no doubt work needed to be done in the bathroom. The house has been purchased 50+ years prior by my parents and the bathroom was one of the ?modern? areas of the 200 year old house. Aside from the usual updates in fittings, there was also a major dip in the floor that needed to be addressed.             I contacted the contactor after I had already booked a 4-hour exterior woodworking job with the same firm with the idea while the carpenter was here for that job, he could look the bathroom over and help let me know what needed to be done ? and that process would be part of the fee. That was after discussing the bathroom job and agreeing to pay the labor fee and purchases all the materials myself. I had 2 items on my ?wish list?; rather than a fixed shower head I wanted a shower bar where the spray unit is movable and replace the full tub space with a shower with glass shower doors. The contractor didn?t seem to know what I meant by a shower bar and his only comment about the glass doors was ?they?re really expensive.?             After three scheduled start dates, a carpenter and a helper arrived to start the job. To make a long story short, there was absolutely no pre-planning regarding the installation of the materials I had purchased. With the room reduced to the studs, a partition wall removed and the floor opened up to the crawl space below, I was forced to endure:             The rebuilding of the partition wall because the shower base would not fit,             The purchase of a second pedestal sink because the rough plumbing had already been done before the carpenter realized the sink was not designed for that ? from the wall behind the sink, rather than straight up through the floor,             The installation of the shower doors ? there was not adequate space for the doors to fit, plus had they fit, there was not enough structural support (in the wall that had been installed twice,) to support the doors.     After enduring 10 days of construction and what seemed like a crisis every day, I ended it before the bathroom was painted. I was given $200 off the bill for this. Total cost - $6,900 less $200 for renovation labor, $2,640 for floor repair labor, $3,707 for bathroom materials, $1,093 for floor repair materials. Grand total = just over $14,000. The work that was done I?m satisfied with, but the lack of preplanning, forethought and just general concern that all the parts would fit was totally lacking. Had the contractor or even the carpenter reviewed all of the work that had to be done and what requirements were needed before work was completed piecemeal, much of the aggravation could have been reduced.
