Recent Review: Beautiful product, good prices. Only issue was a delay in shipping of several weeks due to inventory. This delay caused issues with scheduling on a whole-house renovation and it would have been quite useful to know about upfront, rather than having to call them repeatedly for updates. When the flooring finally arrived, weeks late, it was beautiful and in very good shape. I would use them again, but I would order much earlier than needed to allow for any delays.

Recent Review: Messner Carpet provided us with a prompt written estimate with details about the work to be done (unlike their competitor who we also consulted). They were organized and professional in all of our dealings with them. We had good communication before the scheduled installation date, and everything proceeded as planned. The workmen were pleasant, seemed to do a good job, and cleaned up well after themselves.

Recent Review: The floors look great. A couple of repairs/replaced boards also look great. They missed some details putting closet boards (for shoes) back in place but no big deal. If I had reminded them they would have done it. I would certainly bring them back for another job. The cost was ~20% lower than what was quoted by the bigger name floor companies around town.

Recent Review: Luke got the job because he was the quickest to come out and estimate the work. I called on a Saturday at 9, and he shifted his schedule to come out later that morning. We ripped up old carpet in our new house to discover some damage to the floors. Luke came in, got down on the floor to inspect some trouble areas, and went into the basement to inspect the sub-floor. He was able to schedule his team for early that week. Luke worked with 2 other guys, pulling up boards in the damaged areas, hand setting ever nail new and old, sanding the floors, and refinishing the natural oak. I saw the effort that goes into this type of work and it is definitely back-breaking hard work. Our floors came out nice, and Luke referred me to some other contractors he knew. All in all a great group of guys. Hardwood repair is expensive, price may be negotiable.

Recent Review: Excellent. They were professional in every way, on time, and the price was excellent. I had received the original quote in 2016, but had decided to delay the work by 1 year. In 2017, I contacted Donna, and within a few dollars, she honored that original quote. I highly recommend this vendor for hardwood floor refinishing. And they kept the work area very clean during the whole process; amazing. Thank you!

Recent Review: Showed up on time to do initial scope and measure, then made appointment for a 3 day job with 50% down. They finished the job in 2 days. I am very pleased with the product and the install and would definitely hire them again.

Recent Review: This went well. Messner has three service locations. We used the Pittsford branch. Two days after we requested an estimate, the vendor promptly appeared to measure. My brother selected the replacement flooring in the showroom. Installation occurred in two phases: first, the front entrance, downstairs half bath, and kitchen (same design pattern); then, the den (a different pattern). Each day, the installers arrived around 8:15 AM and worked without break until between 1:30 and 2 PM. They encountered no issues. The results are beautiful! The one issue we encountered: the vendor doesn't remove the construction debris. We contracted for a dumpster ($500) to accommodate that.

Recent Review: We've used Cliff before for a Kitchen vinyl install and were happy with his service. When we wanted to replace the flooring in our bathroom, he was the first call we made. He brought flooring samples to our house, measured the space and scoped out the job to provide an estimate.  I planned to remove the previous flooring and attend to some plumbing issues that needed resolution prior to putting the new floor in. When we were ready, Cliff installed the new floor and was in and out in a day. Bottom line, the floor looks great and Cliff's service was professional, neat and met our budget.  He even did some extra work leveling the floor where we had to do some plumbing repairs without any adjustment to the job cost. I'm always a fan of working with a local business when I can and I would encourage other Angie's List users to at least give him a look. Thanks!

Reviews in Scottsville to Install Cork Flooring

FChristian Flooring
we were sold a flooring made of a material totally unsuitable to areas of moisture like the basement. The cork flooring sold to us also had a finish which scratched of easily. The floor is already buckling and we are going to have to replace it again. also during the installation one of the installers was rude to my wife

AHarman Hardwood Floors
I needed to replace my kitchen floor because a reconfiguration of my cabinets left a big unfinished area not covered by the existing linoleum.  I had discovered the "Wish" pattern cork material at another seller, where it retailed at $5 per sq ft.  I looked at a second supplier/installer and got a price of $4 per sq ft.  I had decided to use this pattern and this supplier and actually drove to the establishment to discuss the order.  The stated hours began at 10 a.m., but upon my arrival the store was closed.  I left and returned later and it was still not open, so I drove to another installer.  When I made inquiries about the location of the new installer, the man I talked to said that he knew a lot of installers went to Harman for their material.  When I found that my next flooring place required an appointment to even get in the door, I thought I'd check out Harman.  I am glad I did.  First, their price for exactly the same pattern was $3.29 per sq. ft.  Second, the man I spoke to discussed cork flooring in detail, even taking me into an office with cork flooring and discussing what he did and did NOT like about cork as a flooring option.  Third, I was allowed to bring home the floor sample for a few days to check if it looked good with my wooden cabinetry.   Fourth, he recommended an installer (Harman is a supplier only) in my area who proved to be absolutely stellar in every way.  And finally, after I contracted with the installer, and Harman delivered the material a couple of days early so that it could acclimate to my house's climate, the deliveryman was the friendliest, most efficient and pleasant man I could ask for.  I will never consider any other option if I need material again, and I will recommend Harman to anyone who asks.

ARalph Muffler Flooring
I went to Harmon Flooring in Rochester, NY and priced cork floating floor materials for my kitchen.  I asked about installation and they recommended Ralph Muffler.  They loaned me the display sample of the pattern I chose.  I called Mr Muffler and made an appointment for a free estimate the following week. When he arrived, he requested the material estimation provided by Harmon and measured my floors (I had given the figure of 200 sq ft to Harmon, the area was actually 210 sq ft.)  Mr. Muffler asked if I wanted the existing linoleum on luon flooring removed, or the new floor installed over the old one.  I asked for removal which he estimated at $315 in addition to installation cost.  The total he estimated, which included the material cost which he in turn paid Harmon (3.29 per sq ft), the tearout, and the installation was $1800.  Of this $800 was for material, sales tax and delivery (Ransom delivered the material several days before the install to let the cork acclimate to my interior conditions); $315 for tearout and the remainder for installation.  Mr. Muffler offered to return the sample for me to Harmon when he went there to order materials.  Prior to the date of installation, Mr. Muffler called and and arranged a date for the material to be delivered so that it could acclimate the the interior conditions in my kitchen for a couple of days.  When the cork was delivered, I discovered that Mr Muffler had also ordered wood for footings around my cabinets and transitions (or thresholds) for the doorways to other rooms and closets.  On the first and  second days of installation Ralph and his helper arrived promptly by 8:30 each day.  They hung plastic sheeting over interior doorways and protecting counters to contain dust.  They had arrived with everything required for the job.  They asked a couple of questions about my preferences as the job progressed, but otherwise worked efficiently and with no unnecessary disturbance to me.  Both Mr. Muffler and his assistant were extremely pleasant to talk to, as well as being thoroughly knowledgeable about their job - they anticipated every issue and did a number of things I never would have thought of myself until I was in the middle of things.  They completely respected my house.  The job they did was flawless and beautiful.  They cleaned my kitchen completely of any mess they caused - sweeping up and so forth.  They matched colors of my cabinetry for staining the wood for the footings and the thresholds.  After they left I discovered that they had even discovered a decorative panel that had fallen of the base of my dishwasher ages ago and which I had misplaced after a couple of attempts at putting it back, and they had put it back on the dishwasher.  The cost of the entire job was exactly what they had estimated.  My kitchen was as usable the minute they left as it had been before they started.  I cannot say enough good things about Muffler's work, the look, the beautifully mitered corners on the flooring, the matching of new wood to old cabinetry, the foresight and professionalism of both Mr. Muffler and Mike, his assistant.   I felt the cost of the job was very reasonable.  I will not only use Ralph Muffler Flooring if I have future needs for flooring, but I will also contact them for recommendations for any other home repair/installation work I need.

Aaron notified me of the time he would arrive for the job. He was an hour late, but called ahead to advise me. The job took about 4 hours. The floor around the stack was repaired properly and the flooring was installed. The new floor looked great. A plumber was able to successfully install a new toilet on the repaired floor.

AL & C FLOORING
Overall went well. Our floor was very uneven which made the install a little tricky. On the first day, the two man crew (including owner) leveled the floor and cut door jams. They came back on day two and put the floor in. I would have liked the floor to have been leveled a bit better, but I think they did about as well as could be expected given the condition of the floor originally. One door was trimmed a bit too short, but no big deal.

AMWH Floors
Mark is prompt, polite, and professional. He is an artist when it comes to hardwood flooring. His knowledge is second to none. Mark is able to make floors look new that I thought were not salvageable. Any repairs he's made to 40, 50, 60 year old floors were blended perfectly. Before finding MWH floors, I used to refinish my own floors. Although I had limited success, it took me 3-4 times as long, and made the house a dusty mess.  Mark uses HEPA vacuums and when he's done, there is a minimal amount of dust around the house. Don't try to refinish or install your own floors. CALL MWH FLOORS!

AAdam Solutions LLC
I needed a new kitchen floor and did not know the best person to call, so I went to Angie's list. I looked at service providers and read reviews. That's when I called Adam Solutions. Jim came out right out and we discussed my options. I ended up with waterproof vinyl plank flooring and could not be happier. The job was scheduled quickly and the price was more than fair. Jim came on time and did a beautiful job. He put the flooring in my kitchen and down the stairway to a landing going to my basement. I would hire him again.

BPRO SOURCE WHOLESALE FLOOR
We purchased flooring from Pro Source Wholesale Floor; they were very good in terms with providing us with education about the material and they were good when it came to the price comparison. They worked well with the installer. They provided the flooring at a good price and they were a pleasure to work with. The only problem came when we returned some of the flooring they were slow when it came to giving us the refund. I would purchase flooring from them again and I would recommend them

ALion Carpets and Flooring
Leaky 1st floor powder room toilet damages hardwood flooring. Lion responded quickly when called. Stuck to their original work estimate. Did not have enough old unused wood pieces to do the job. Lion did search for and found wood to match our 20 yr old damaged flooring. Extra cost for wood. Showed up when promised. Professionally installed our floor and cleaned up in a timely fashion. Owner/installer was professional, artful, and mindful of our needs. Would use Lion again for additional flooring needs.

ALee B Bradley Flooring Inc
I'd describe Lee as more of a craftsman than one of those guys in the Yellow Pages who refinished floors for what is claimed to be a low price. He is meticulous and knows the business well. We were really pleased with my daughters floors. I'd particularly recommend him for floors with "problems", or more exotic floors (e.g. parquet).  We elected not to buff our floors as the moving of all the furniture sort of overwhelmed us. The floors are actually in pretty good shape & and the logistics of moving all that stuff and storing it got to us. We may eventually do it. Anyway Lee gave us what seemed to be a fair price for the quality of work that he does.
