Business Description: Estimates are free. Some plumbing jobs carry a standard price in accordance with National Average for our area. My personalized service as well as problem solving create repeat, trusting customers. It' s about quality, a finished product and fair pricing. Attention to detail in your home is important. I wear many hats as plumbing and carpentry sometimes fall together.. Whether its whole house plumbing, a repair or replacement. The job gets completed and I guarantee my workmanship. Large jobs may require a deposit. Being just one person may cause time constraints as I pace myself. I deal direct with homeowners: No coordinators, no absentee landlords or bank building loans. Final approvals are done by the owner during a walk through. Any coupons are redeemable for services only, not for materials. Sales tax is added as required. I make appointments (leaving a 2 hour window usually on Saturdays) to review the details of a job thus calling back with a price and a start date. Some emergency jobs accepted. if emailing please include address, phone number & some details about the work needed. Prices cannot be given sight unseen. Details are important to assure fair pricing. Hourly rates do not apply. Thank you. Phil O'Brien

Recent Review: Easy to set up appointment at a convenient time; they were prompt in arriving. The service technician who arrived was very friendly and helpful and advised on several different minor issues in the kitchen and bath. He repaired a leaky connection in the bathroom vanity as well as some parts in the faucet. I would have liked to have spent a little less, but the work was done well and quickly, so overall I'm okay with the cost. I would definitely use again and, in fact, have had Farrell Bros. here again since then to inspect and advise on a heating/AC issue. Again, they were prompt and professional.

Recent Review: My husband and I were extremely pleased with the work performed by the owner, Mark. If it were possible to give him an A+ rating, we would do so!  We had several different projects at our 2 1/2 year old house that we wanted done.  I contacted Mark as one of the highly rated Angie's List contractors to get a quote for the work. He responded promptly. We set up an appointment for him to come to the house and go over the scope of the work.  He later emailed a written estimate and gave us an approximate date when the work could be performed.  Mark took the time to shop around to find the right type of molding to match existing molding in the house. His pricing was very fair considering the amount of work involved. Mark began the project when he had scheduled it.  He was always punctual, professional, friendly and a pleasure to deal with.  His assistant Don was equally nice, prompt, professional and friendly. They both worked diligently and finished the job in the estimated time allotted. When Mark had a question about how we wanted something done (which came up with the molding part of the job, since there were several ways to put the molding on the walls), he always asked first and went over the details until he was sure it was going to be done to our liking.  I was able to email some photos to show what we wanted, and that worked out very well. Mark was able to solve problems as they arose (which seem inevitable with any type of home improvement project), and he patiently took the time to make sure everything was done correctly. Mark and Don completed the work on schedule, always showed up on time, worked meticulously and left the house clean at the end of each day. We plan to have Mark come back for more projects in the future.  He is really busy, but even if you have to wait for him it's worth it!  I cannot say enough good things about him.  It's a no-brainer for me to give him the highest recommendation.

A & J did not show up to provide estimate on agreed date. However, the contractor did call to apologize, hence I'm upgrading my previous review.

FPython plumbing and drain cleaning
Absolute nightmare! Will was to re-do my 6x12 bathroom. He said 4-5 days at the start of the project. He ran into one issue that was fixed in two days, so that would have added that time to the job. Exactly one month later, he has decided that he will not be completing the work. I have a patch that was never painted on the wall, I faucet to a bathtub that leaks, a door that does not shut and has mangled wood all around it that he tried to paint over to hide the mess. A completely crooked switch plate that he attached to the wall when the paint was still wet so now if I take it off, the paint is coming with it. He would come to do the job on average one hour 3-5 days a week. He would say every day that he would be there first thing in the morning and NEVER showed up before noon. He did not put any kind of protective material over an open doorway that led into my kitchen, so when he had the floor open to the dirt ground below and was working on leveling the floor, my entire kitchen was covered in a layer of dirt that it took me four hours to clean that weekend and I had to throw away any food item that was out anywhere in the kitchen-all of which could have been prevented. And BEWARE homeowner, he apparently, without my knowledge or permission, brought his young daughter to the job and had her watching tv in my kids playroom and using my upstairs bathroom, all without my knowledge. I have a dog that does not always trust kids and will lunge at their faces if they get too close and scare her. I never thought I would have to share this info with my contractor, as WHO BRINGS THEIR KIDS TO THE WORKSITE, WITHOUT THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE HOMEOWNER?!?!?! If something had happened to her, I could have been liable! Then there were the dirty handprints all over my upstairs bathroom walls from the job that I had him do up there to install a toilet and from this job with the downstairs bathroom, so if they had to use the bathroom they had to use the one upstairs. I am missing paint that I purchased that we did not use for the job, a stepladder from my garage, all of the warranty booklets from the vanity and two faucets that I purchased...he gave every excuse in the book of why he was late all the time or wasn't showing up, from my daughter is sick to my friend has breast cancer. If this was a one time thing, that's one thing, but EVERY SINGLE DAY it was something new. I was warned part way through the project by someone who came to do work for him, Thani had to keep on top of him, as this was common for him. I wish I could have backed out at that point, but we were already underway. I'm sure there are things I am forgetting, but this should be enough of a warning. STAY FAR AWAY,

AWalter Remodeling Services Inc
Walter is the first person I call when there is a home improvement project to be done at my house in Roxbury,  NJ. My house is now12 years old, and over the years I have done many improvements. He has done a number of projects including: painting (he is an expert), crown molding, custom fireplace mantle, beadboard, new bathroom vanity installation, new walk in closet, etc. He does high quality work at a fair price. The last project he did was install a tile floor in a bathroom. It was actually at a rental property that I own. We actually met at Home Depot to review the tile and materials to be used. He did the project right, removing the toilet, vanity, and existing flooring and than installing the tile floor, grouting, etc.. The tile install came out beatiful. In all the projects he has done for me, I can always trust his professional opinion. He is willing to work with you to get the results you are looking for. He is one of the nicest guys you will meet in the home improvement\construction business.

Extremely pleased with the results.  Alan and his worker, Angelo, did a fabulous job for us.  They work in a very professional manner, cleaning up each day.  The quality of the work is perfection.  They were both polite, courteous and respectful.  Showed up on time each day, wasted no time and got the job done is a reasonable time frame.

AAll Around Painting
Great experience.  Steve Rakowski is very professional and does high quality work.  He is responsive (returned my initial call in just an hour) and incredibly prompt (he actually tends to arrive early).   I purchased All Around Painting's 4 hr. handyman special.  Steve came to see what I wanted to have done and then returned and completed everything the next day.  He brought a colleague with him (David) and they accomplished a lot.  Things went so well that I asked them if they would stay to help us with a few more repairs than originally planned.  They were very accommodating, and Steve's hourly fee for the additional time was extremely reasonable.   Both men took a lot of pride in their work and were friendly and professional.   The painting and caulking in our bathroom looks great. I am also impressed that Steve stands by his work.  I followed up with Steve after a towel bar that he installed became wiggly.  Steve returned and solved the problem.  It is now rock solid.  I would definitely hire All Around Painting in the future and have already asked for an estimate on additional work.

F1st Choice Custom Remodeling & Repairs
Mr. Stebbins showed up as planned however, from the start Greg's attitude, professionalism, work ethic, and the quality of the work was that of less than an amateur even though he assured me over and over again that he was very well experienced and "had 30 years experience". He would show up when he wanted to (usually after 10am sometimes noon or 1pm), walk into my house unannounced, and go to work with a miserable attitude.  I would often hear his using the f word numerous times in the bathroom because he couldn't get something to work out right.  After he broke a new faucet for my tub and couldn't get the toilet to work, I knew Greg was not as experienced as he indicated.  When he showed me the faucet he broke, he blamed it on the faucet calling it "S_ _T"!  I couldn't believe what I was hearing being it was over $200 for the faucet.   Even though the contract stated that he would take care of all dumping costs and picking up of all products, I ended up dumping some of his junk as well as picking up all of the products including vanities, toilets, tile, etc.  He would show up in a Sunfire car everyday saying that it cost him too much money to drive his truck.   He then tried to hit me up for more money even though I paid him in full for the first bath and an extra thousand towards the second bath because he insisted he needed this money to but materials which I never saw. One day I went upstairs to check on the progress of the job which went at a snail's pace and saw Mr. Stebbins reading a "how to install tile" book.  I took a look at the work that he had performed to date and the walls were a complete disaster which he tried to paint over and got most of the wall paint on the ceiling.  The tub was a 3 piece acrylic unit that locked in together.  He assured me that the 3 pieces don't always fit flush come to find out that they always should fit flush if the tub is installed correctly.  He also installed the tub on expansion foam which unleveled the tub and voided the manufacturers warranty.  Expansion foam over time would cause the tub to crack.  He also would use all of my tools, brooms, ladder, dust pan, garbage cans, etc at his leisure without asking me.  He even dumped my dog food into a box from it's can and used the can for his mud.  Not to mention how sloppy he was.... (grout on my stairs, door, garage door, kitchen floor etc.)  I spent an hour nightly cleaning up after him. After my inquiries about his work, which he refused to explain, Mr. Stebbins quit the second bath however, decided to keep the money I had given him towards the second bath that he never started.  He indicated he would finish the first bath and then pay me back. The last straw was when I asked him for the remote control to my garage back and he indicated that he gave it to someone else (a stranger).  It took 3 days to get my control back.   At this point I had had enough of Mr. Stebbins and fired him off the first bath asking for my money back.  He was rude, nasty, disrespectful, and completely incompetent of doing professional work.  He would send me threatening text messages and call me names. I had decided in the meantime to hire a professional to access what work Mr. Stebbins did "complete" and to my disbelief, the tub was installed incorrectly, the plumbing was all backwards and sloppy, the piping was not straight, the tub was not level, the toilet was not even attached to the main drain, etc.  The job had to be started from scratch pulling the tub, toilet, flooring, etc. which cost me extra expenses.  I tried contacting Mr. Stebbins by email and phone numerous times to get my money back and finally after not releasing his tools on my site, Mr. Stebbins agreed to return part of the money with a police escort.  The police took a look at some pipes that were pulled from his work and starting laughing asking me if he did this?  They couldn't believe it! This is the short version of exactly what took place at my residence.   Mr. Greg Stebbins is a complete scam artist, fraud, and not experienced in anything that has to do with home repair.  His only experience may be in scamming people.  I urge you strongly to not consider Mr. Stebbins for any project that you value unless you have time to babysit his every move. I guarantee that if I didn't still have Mr. Stebbins tools, I would never have gotten any money back whatsoever.
