Recent Review: Deck came out great, we weren't even expecting the primer but he did it since he says it makes the coat stay better. Very happy with his service came one day to power wash and prep, the next to prime and 3rd to do the final product.

Recent Review: We did not use them. There bid was a little higher then we were willing to pay. They were prompt and friendly. The thing that trouble me the most was they were charging so much for removal of lead paint. The company that did the job did not charge extra.

Recent Review: I called John DiMartino on February 26th. He came over on the 27th at 3 PM, precisely on time. I gave him the details on the deck we wanted. He gave me an initial quote. We then modified the design to better meet my needs (I am a paraplegic in a wheelchair.) With mostly his input we ended up with a better design and a lower price! We asked him to start as soon as possible. He said he could begin, weather permitting, by late April or early May. Around the end of March John called and said he could do it earlier. He and his crew showed up on Monday, April 6th and were finished on Thursday the 9th. His crew was really good, curious and professional. I also asked him to build a ramp in the garage to give me unassisted access to the house. This too was done before they left on Thursday. Would we use him again? We've already arranged to have him come back to paint the garage floor, walls and ceiling, and the basement floor. No doubt we will be asking him for more help in the future. Thanks again John Rick and Nadine
Recent Review: EXCELLENT!! The three guys who painted the deck were incredible. My deck is completely surrounded by landscaping; including a pond and thorny roses, and I did not see a single drop of paint or any smashed plants. They were meticulous!! The railings were white and the deck cedar, so they also had to paint to separate areas of the deck, and it looks amazing. I will definitely use them again for any painting jobs that I have.

CHis and Hers Fix Its, A Division of Reno-Build Services
Not thrilled with services. Both individuals were very friendly which made it more difficult to try to get things done right. Always felt like it was a 'do it the cheapest & quickest way possible.' Didn't balance ceiling fans; Cobb job replacing heat grate. Wanted to do only 1 coat of paint instead of 2. Never knew if they were being honest about the work being done or making up "alternative facts."

I have used this service twice before. They are a couple. They do an excellent job of cleaning and sealing our three levels of wooden decks. They are fully prepared to do this work without entering the premises. The work is excellent and the decks always look beautiful when they are done.

The deck came out fine. it has lasted and about the only problem I had was that they don't sand or paint the unfinished wood.

I met with Patrick O'Toole to review the work I needed to have completed. He was very friendly and appeared to be knowledgeable. Patrick told me he would have the man come to do the power washing within the next week and that it would be a few more weeks before the deck could be taken care of. During our conversation Patrick indicated that the job would take two days and that he would have two people working on it. A little over a week later I was contacted by the man who does the power washing. He came out and did the job as planned. He then told me that he would be out the next day to begin staining/painting the deck. The first two days the worker came out, but only stayed on site a short time as he was called out to do another job. I changed my mind about the color which did set the work back about 5 hours. Then there seemed to be some sort of a problem each day...it was too hot, he got tired, had to help out elsewhere, etc. It ended up taking 8 days for the job to be completed. This wouldn't have been a problem except that I have dogs and needed to keep them inside over this time period and it also held up other projects I had planned. The quality of the work was okay. I found a lot of runs and a wet line was not maintained. Also, I asked on several occasions about a second coat as that was the product recommendation. I was told that he would apply the product thick and that a second coat wasn't included in the price. I also was left to pick up the cardboard, broom and paint that was left behind...so the work site was left a bit messy. I was concerned that the quoted price did not reflect the product recommendation. Another concern was that the power washing caused the paint to come off the shutters. It can be fixed with paint and I understand that these things happen, but I wish I was told (it was fairly obvious) rather than having me discover it on my own. As part of the project a piece of siding was also to be replaced. To date, this has not been completed.

Paid deposit. Job not finished. Waiting for deposit refund and reimbursement for paint. Waited over 2 months to get project started after deposit. Was promised I would be prioritized so it would be completed before the weather changed. As it needed to be covered in a non slip surface for safety reasons. Owner was nice and knowledgeable. However communication between the owner and the worker was lacking. The worker called me to set up a time to tear down my chimney....is was a deck repainting...he hadn't read the work order. So instead of coming the next day to start he pushed it a week (without telling me). I had to call the owner to find out why the worker didn't show. The 2nd time the worker came over to look at the deck. He told me the wrong type of paint to purchase...told me to get a stain instead of the resurfacing paint that the owner and I had agreed upon. He sent me to the wrong store. I had to call the owner again to verify the actual correct material to purchase. Wasted 4 hours. Same discussion the I asked the worker to make sure to check the weather to ensure he didn't paint it on a day it was supposed to rain due to the cure time. Worker agreed said he or his brother would be out the next morning to paint. The next day he didn't show, had to call the owner to find out what was going on. The worker then showed up after 4pm when I was away and painted the deck right before a downpour (within the hour...very obvious it was going to rain. ) wasted 3 gallons for $40/ gallon resurfacing paint. And the deck looks horrendous. I texted the owner that night with Owner and said to call me the next day with a gameplan on how they were going to fix. 2 days later I had to call the owner as the worker had blocked my number. Was told by the owner he would ensure it would be recleaned and painted and they would replace the paint used. A week nothing happened. Plenty of time and good weather to come and clean the paint off and repaint. Called the owner and was told they couldn't finish and would have to wait until spring. I'm an engineer/landscape architect. The lack of attention to detail and follow-up is unexcusable. I've requested they clean the deck, refund my deposit and the cost of the paint. I put my trust in this company based on the reviews on here...after dealing with them...I have no idea how they have such high ratings.

Lester said he'd have two men prime and stain my deck which would take 2-3 days. One guy showed up, and it took him several days more than I was told because he kept having to leave for personal reasons and wouldn't show up on days he said he would. I paid Lester half the fee before the work was started and paid Bob the other half the day he said he was done. All in cash. Live and learn. Should never have paid Bob before inspecting the deck thoroughly as he left it unstained in a several places. You could see the primer in between the boards, the step up to the pool deck was completely left unstained, the board on the bench was not nailed down as Lester said it would be, and there were and are many places where you can see brush marks. The whole deck needed another coat. I called Lester about this and Bob finally came out to make it right. He said he wouldn't have been happy with the job either. ?? He did it!! He slapped a bit of stain here and there and left. I wasn't home when he did it to inspect it before he left. I still was not happy with the job. So the spring comes around and the stain is peeling in several spots right down to the bare wood. I emailed Lester about this several weeks ago and received no response. He obviously doesn't care about the reputation of his company or having satisfied customers as long as he gets his money. I even told him in the email that I'd be submitting a report to Angie's List if he didn't do something about my situation. No reply. That says it all in my opinion.

AAffordable Solutions by Brian
Excellent! We couldn't have asked for a company with a better work ethic. Brian and his crew were very professional, friendly, and punctual. They took pride in the work they were doing and the area was left neat and clean when they were done each day. The shutters were not originally part of the job but when we inquired about having it done; Brian told us he would have no problem adding it on to the 2nd day if we were able to obtain the shutters in time. Brian and his men were a pleasure to work with and we would highly recommend them; We will also keep them in mind for any future work needed at our house since they do a variety of work. The deck and shutters look great! Thanks Brain!
