Recent Review: Patrick and his son arrived punctually at 9 am for five days. The first day, they patched and repaired plaster damage in three rooms. The second day included finish plaster in those rooms -- including a matching swirl in the ceilings so no one could tell that there had been a repair. They then painted walls and ceilings in the four rooms, including a two-story entryway and vaulted ceilings (1 1/2 stories high) in the living room and den. The work was meticulous with drop cloths and plastic covering every inch of surface in those rooms. Clean-up was also done carefully every afternoon. The paint (Benjamin Moore) was top quality and perfectly matched what was on the walls and ceilings. The inside of our house looks brand new!!

Recent Review: The job they did is amazing. We are very pleased with the quality of the work. They removed fixtures, paintings, mirrors, etc; stripped wallpaper borders; repaired slight imperfections in walls; moved furniture. They were meticulous in their use of furniture covers and drop cloths.....we haven't found any drips or spills on anything. Several walls needed a 3rd coat to cover darker colors with lighter ones, and the upcharge for this was extremely reasonable. The people working here were very friendly and personable. Brian was on time for his appointment to give us an estimate, and was able to give it to us right away...no waiting for a week or 10 days as we found with other contractors. They started promptly, worked straight through, full days, until the project was finished. We are VERY satisfied with the job they did.

Recent Review: Our first hope was to add a shower to the room.  Jim Randall and Tim Kiefer gave us very nice design options.  They put a great deal of time and thought into it all.  But my husband and I decided the additional cost wasn't in the budget.  Keifer-Randall were okay and respectful of our decision, and retained their enthusiasm.  Work started mid July 2011 and progressed around some unexpected circumstances within our family.  Mark was fabulous.  His work is beautiful and I absolutely love the tile floor!!! Also, in late September, we asked if they could install 'quarter round' on the baseboard in most of the house.  At that time, the company was swamped with helping families recover flooded homes.  We understood, purchased the wood, and patiently waited to fit in their schedule.  Well, we didn't have to wait long, and Mark installed the trim in a few hours.  Once again, beautiful work! Our experience with the Kiefer-Randall team was great!  We have more remodeling ideas on our list, and we look forward to working with Jim, Tim, and their crew again. (p.s. Please forgive my procrastination with getting this review online.  Thank you.)

Recent Review: In a word ... FANTASTIC. Rob was very neat and conscientious throughout the process. He checked in with us every step of the way and made great suggestions, too. We received an initial estimate which is very close to the final amount paid, especially considering the changes we requested along the way.  We started this project in late August and it is all but complete now and we couldn't be happier. The time frame for completion was exactly as expected, and Rob even accommodated us when friends came to stay in the middle of the construction process ... he left the area nice and neat for us and our guests. We get weekly (and sometimes daily) progress reports and even photos when we have to be out of town while the work proceeds. The quality of work is very good and we know every week just what to expected in cost and project completion. We couldn't be happier with the end result.  We consider Rob a partner in both the design and construction of our remodel projects. We look forward to future projects with Rob ... we are already planning the next remodel phase.

Recent Review: The job went very well. We found Tim on Angie's list and interviewed him and three others for the job. He had great ideas for the work we wanted to do and was extremely flexible when our ideas changed for whatever reason. He was cost-conscious on our behalf. For example, instead of getting a dumpster, he would haul away debris in his truck to the appropriate place and donated material to Habitat for Humanity if they could use it. He recommended someone to refinish one of our existing hardwood floors and coordinated that job for us. He helped us find the period doors we were looking for and order the correct sizes. He recommended a flooring business to us and even suggested a particular carpet installer that worked there that he had worked with on other houses and knew did a good job. He recommended a place to buy our new hardwood flooring that had good prices and delivery times. He was on time every day and if he needed to come late or leave early for any reason he would let me know and tell me why. He cleaned up after himself every day. He gave us his cell phone number and email and made himself available on the job and after hours if we had questions or a message. My favorite response of his to anything was, 'Not a problem'. Tim really can do anything and will do it until you are satisfied (I am rather picky - perfectionist maybe - and while some ways of doing things wouldn't bother someone else they would bother me - and Tim performed to that level). He would also consult us regularly to ask how we wanted something done or how we wanted it to look, or just gave us options for materials he could use. Tim is lead certified which was important to us especially since we have a young child. He coordinated with the person who built and installed our new staircase and bannister - they were in touch directly in regard to scheduling the demolition and removal of the old stairs and stairwell and install of the new stairs and bannister, and both were flexible, professional and thoughtful of each other's work here and the space and time they needed to do their work. Tim is personable, he is a family man and interacted happily and comfortably with my daughter and myself when he was working, he is flexible with ideas, he knows a lot of local people in his business, and he is trustworthy - we gave him keys to our house at times when we wouldn't be here at his arrival or departure. When he works for you, your job is his only focus. When he is finished, he will move to his next job, and there is always one waiting.
