Recent Review: Morse did a great job--as mentioned, this is an old house--circa 1870--so all the doorways were non-standard dimensions, and everything had to be custom built at their mill here in town. BACK-DOOR: they sized a fiberglass, Energy Star grade door--four solid panels, with two small double pane windows up top. The existing frame was ancient, and had been poorly repaired at some point in the long ago, with significant splitting and gaps on all sides. In addition to cutting and building the door to match the opening, they completely rebuilt the frame and sill, did some interior carpentry work to repair pre-existing damage to part of the adjacent wall, installed new trim and weather stripping, as well as replacing the locks / hardware. FRENCH DOORS: again with the custom sizing--also, they installed a wooden frame in the opening to take into account the settling that had occurred in the house and so created a squared off doorway within the slightly angled existing pass-through. The doors are pine, six glass panels on each. There was a bit of extra glue on some of the panels that was easily removed with an X-acto knife, but this was a minor quibble--the finished work looks terrific. INTERIOR DOOR: yes, a non-standard interior door (very narrow) that had to be custom made for the space. Solid pine, nothing fancy, looks great. Of note, the house and work areas were absolutely spotless, really imaculate. Better than what I had left, in fact! They were right on time, finished on schedule, and were A-Plus all around. Would refer anyone to them for this kind of work--plus, everying is done locally, in their own mill right here in town, so that's good to know.
