BCannon Pools
Jeff is a long time salesperson with Cannon Pools. We spoke about the project and he made an appointment to talk with us and see the site. Jeff listened to what we wanted and showed pictures of similar projects. We decided on a style and then looked through catalogs to select the final details. Jeff explained costs and options and offered to give us some time to think through what we wanted. The pool was a well thought out purchase so we were very sure about moving forward. Jeff left a standard fill-in-the-blank contract with us to consider. It contained all of the details we agreed on and had standard contract language. Cannon uses long-term contractors for pool installations, they showed up on time and brought a rubber template of the pool dimensions. They worked with us to select the exact location of the pool and then marked out the area to be excavated. They showed up the next day and dug the pool area. The operator of the excavator was very precise and careful when working near an adjacent fence. The crew returned the next day and began putting the pool walls up. They used laser equipment to level everything and finished the installation in a few days. The only surprise with the excavator contract was a knock on the door and request for $300 additional to install additional drainage. I wasn't sure if that was needed, but took the contractor's word for it and paid a check to the contractor for this additional work (rather than directly to Cannon). This is the only reason why the final cost was higher than agreed to with Cannon. Remember, Cannon Pools gives you a list of recommended contractors for electrical work and pool decking. You have to be prepared to hire these additional contractors, it's not a turnkey service. Cannon's competitor in the Syracuse area does provide a turnkey service. In hindsight, it was not difficult selecting these contractors from Cannon's list as they were all familiar with pool installations and have a history of working with Cannon. This is a fine company and the service Cannon Pools delivered was exactly as promised.
