Business Description: Kimlin Propane was founded in 1982 by my dad and mom, Douglas and Jean Kimlin, from their home on Duzine Road in New Paltz, NY. My dad grew up in the gas business from the time he was a teenager in Dutchess County. Back in the 40’s and 50’s, propane was delivered by swapping out 100# cylinders. He remembers loading cylinders on a cable car that took people to a restaurant on the top of Mt. Beacon (you can see the line of the old route up the side of the hill as you head south out of Beacon on Route 9D). He worked his way up and in the late 50’s was hired as a manager for a large company called Pyrofax for their branch in Windsor Locks, CT. Eventually, mom got homesick and dad got offered the job as manager of the Clintondale, NY branch of a company called Star Gas. So they packed me and my sister up and moved to New Paltz in 1966. He ran that branch for 16 years and made himself so much at home that he even raised chickens there until Brooklyn Union Gas bought out Star Gas in 1981 and, as a token of appreciation for his years of service with the Company, fired him.

When my liner was delivered, he called and said he would be here the next day. He arrived early in the morning and he prepared the pool to accept the liner. I have a big pool and corrections of vermeculite had to be applied, walls scraped, smoothed, and vacumed. The next day he returned and installed it. HE WAS OUTSTANDING. He is an impecably neat and orderly worker. I hope anyone reading this review calls and hires him to do their an

BJOHNSON'S POOLS AND SPAS
Overall they did a good job, there were just a couple of issues. After the new concrete was poured, they marked the installation holes for the ladder. However they were too close to the edge of the pool, so when the ladder was installed the feet did not rest against the side of the pool as they should. They originally told us we needed a different kind of ladder which they provided at no charge, but that ladder didn't work either. We finally found someone to machine a couple of extensions that we could insert into the feet to make up the inch or so gap. That's when we discovered also that the ladder holes were crooked. One extension had to be made longer than the other. They closed our pool when they installed the new cover. They did not tighten the cover properly so it sagged and filled with water and debris over the winter. Before we could remove the cover this spring we had to pump water off the cover and try to get the leaves, etc off it so they didn't end up in the pool.

AFour Seasons Landscaping
i have used Robin a few times to help with drainage issues on property and some brush hogging. i wanted to work on my pond and some clearing to open up the view that had grown blocked over the years. Robin and his team did amazing work on making my pond bigger and usable. Together we designed the pond to work with environment and my needs. Robin used the many springs and wets spots to fill my pond and channel water away from where i didn't want it?Robin and Kane were always prompt with appointments and worked with weather to get the job done to my satisfaction. Since this property is 3 hours drive away for me, Robin always kept me posted on any delays or timing issues. He was prompt for every meeting we scheduled and was a pleasure to do business with.

I have hired and fired more contractors due to lack of knowledge. Scott gave me a price to fix our 4 acre pond leak that three others failed to do. Very simply they showed up at 7am and finished the next afternoon when we came home the work was completed. To sum the job up pond leak was repaired and the entire cleanup was very satisfactory. The next day I asked my wife when the tree guy was here to clean up a 40 foot oak tree that had fallen by the garage she did not recall calling him. The wood was cut in stove lengths and stacked in our wood pile the stump was dug out and filled in. .This tree was 200 foot away from the pond. I called our tree man to send him out a check he said he was never there. Called Scott he said we took care of it on the way out [ Dam thing kept bugging me while I was working] I offered to pay him for the removal He told me God Bless and see you for the next job. We will have Catskillpond back.

They came a few weeks earlier and prepped the land. Then they showed up on Friday morning and finished all the rest of the preparation. Then they set the pool and filled it with water. They were very early. The first time they showed up it was not even 6:30 and they were in our yard. When it was time for them to actually come and do the install they were here just a few minutes after 6 in the morning and they didn’t leave until 6 o’ clock at night till it was done. They never took a break or anything. They just worked straight through. They were great.

I didn't know this guy, and he took time to understand what I needed. He didn't oversell me on something I didn't need. He went out of his way to make it happen. I paid him for what he said he was going to do. He delivered and so did I. I'd recommend Gerald and his company. You get what you pay for, and I like that. It's rare that you can set an appointment online, that far out, and he made it happen. Keep up the good work. You and your team...two thumbs up.

They come out several times during the year. They open and close my pool for me and I go to them for water testing and chemicals throughout the year. They also make any repairs or adjustments to the pool equipment if it is needed. They offer full service but I don't use them for weekly cleanings or anything like that. They are reasonably priced.

After 15 years with no serious difficulties opening our 24' above ground pool, this year was completely different. I kept encountering problem after problem in the pool cover, skimmer box, hoses, pump and filter. Some problems I could repair myself but I couldn't fit a new skimmer box onto the pool wall properly, and a collar connecting a hose to the filter was leaking severely. I fought with the pool for two vacation days and the water was getting greener by the day. I also had other projects to attend to around the housebefore my vacation ended with an out-of-town trip. While I was making yet another trip to a local pool supply store, I found Marc Chalupnicki's business card at the store. Marc advertises for pool openings and closings, as well as pump and filter repair, so I took a shot and gave him a call. He returned my call promptly and we set up a time for him to come over. He arrived on time, early in fact, and diagnosed the problems and repaired both the skimmer box and the filter. He also offered advise regarding chlorinating the pool and the use of algaecide. His standard opening fee is $100 - $125, and he charged me the agreed upon price of $100. A bit expensive but it was worth it to have these headaches eliminated. Marc was knowledgeable and professional and I would definately hire him again to handle an opening, closing or repair.

This was a new construction house finished in the summer of 2009. We were left with a horrible mess of mud, stones and rocks with not one blade of grass. It was impossible to take the dog out any door without him walking through mud or dirt. We interviewed 3 landscapers and Elegant Estates won us over with their design, professionalism and friendliness. They were not the cheapest quote, but we have never regretted hiring them; they are well worth the extra money! They came in and turned our disaster yard into a magazine picture. We wanted a more formal look in the front and a casual entertaining area in the back. They showed up on time and worked very hard the entire time they were here. I could not have asked for anything more out of them. We feel we got far more than we bargained for. In fact, I have already contracted for work in 2010. On a 1 - 10 scale, Elegant Estates is a 10.
