After purchasing our new home, our insurance company required us to install a railing on our front porch within 30 days of our closing date.  We were literally at the 11th hour of our deadline.  After speaking with Abe on the phone and describing the job, he was able to quickly fit us into his schedule.  Due to our busy schedule, I didn't really have much time to work with him on the look I wanted.  (This girl can be very particular!)  We discussed it, he made his recommendations and I said "go for it!"  I totally put my faith in them that it would turn out alright.  On the day of the job, I arrived at the house to find Abe and David completing the work.  It looked AMAZING!!  Not only did they fit us in, their pricing was fair, the material was a perfect match for the style of our home and we had a hand crafted railing installed in time to meet our imposed deadline.  This month we are remodeling our kitchen.  Abe and David will be doing the work and I can't wait to see the finished product.  I highly recommend these fine gentlemen who show up on time and get the work done at a fair price! P.S. One more thing....my biggest pet peeve when working with a contractor is cleanliness on the job site.  Please do not put a chop saw in my living room while you are working.  (It's happened to me before...twice!)  Abe and David cleaned up after themselves and left only a beautiful railing behind as evidence that they were there.  Being neat and tidy goes a long way in my book.

Very well. Jess was prompt, communicative, professional. He got the job done in exactly the amount of time in his estimate. We got an estimate a few months prior to the job being completed. He was busy and the summer's weather impacted scheduling of jobs. But he stuck with it and was persistent in communicating with us about when it would be done.

Wooden Hammer was a great find.  Ben was professional, listened to my ideas and offered great ideas. He was neat and tidy, cleaned up after the job and punctual.  Ben came when he said he would and called if he was late or needed to change the date. His estimate was accurate and fair. I will use Ben again in the fall for another project.

Excellent. Brian did a beautiful job on this project. The tongue and groove deck boards are smooth and perfectly aligned. The railing is expertly matched to the existing railing and the steps are solid as a rock. Brian and Jess are like sculptors in the way they carefully measure and complete their work.  Even their "workshop on wheels" is highly organized.  Brian was very good at communicating with us regarding each step of the project.

This was, by far, the best experience I have ever had with a contractor.  Every step of the process was easy and worry free.   Everything from the estimate to the inspection was taken care of in the most professional, responsible, and friendly manner.  It's not easy having workmen around the house, and I was especially dreading it because I was pregnant and had a two-year-old.  But Bob, Jim, and Dave were exceptionally easy to have around.  They always communicated their plans, showed up on time, followed through as scheduled, and were as polite and amicable as gentlemen.  Since they were working outside most of the time, even my neighbors enjoyed their company and ended up hiring them for interior carpentry work.  Bob was very helpful, explaining the process of removing the old stuff and drawing up plans for the new construction.  He explained the many options available for materials.  We talked a lot about dimensions of the new steps.  He really listened to what we had in mind and came up with great suggestions based on what we were looking for.  He really wanted us to be happy with the final outcome, so he put a lot of thought and energy into the plans.  He was most helpful when it came to deciding on railings.  We did not like any of the standard hand rail options around and wanted something simple that looked nice and would not require much maintenance.  When we could not find what we were looking for, Bob arranged to have custom railings welded to fit the space.  That really made the final product far superior to anything we could have come up with on our own.  It also left us with a much more durable product that is virtually maintenance free. The entrance to a house is such an important part of the whole. I never would have imagined how satisfying it would be to have this area redesigned, since we were initially just trying to get rid of a lead problem.  Since this project, everything from shoveling snow to walking in after a long work day is so much more satisfying.   If I was in a position to build a new house, I would hire Lakewood Construction to do the whole thing.

Dave did a great job from start to finish. As his website promised, he called when he said he would, he showed up when he said he would, he provided an estimate when he said he would. He and his crew were professional, did great work and cleaned up after themselves. There were no cost overruns though the original estimate was higher than we were expecting.

This provider was very friendly, punctual and professional and assisted with looking at condition of the deck and replacing only what was necessary as I could not afford a new deck. He also looked at condition of my roof and plumbing under my sink. He provided pictures of his carpentry work prior to starting the carpentry jobs per my request. It was obvious he had completed some large beautiful decks. he was honest in his capabilities and was great with the plumbing that would have cost me much more to hire a master plumber to fix leak. Pipes needed to be replaced and re-soldered under the kitchen sink, An annoying tiny leak for years was now fixed. While replacing the floor board he noticed my heat vent was not connected to the register. He told me what fitting I needed and that was installed. I now have heat into my kitchen through this additional register instead of it running through ceiling in the basement. he noticed my front storm door needed adjusting to stay closed and recommended tips and fixed that. He gave me tips on when to stain new pressure treated wood as I wanted to do this myself. Receipts for any purchases were provided for viewing prior to payment. This provider is a great carpenter and is honest about any additional work stating he does not do electrical work. Very professional and helpful and would hire him again for some additional carpentry work.

We have worked with Bob and his team to do several home renovation projects. We have always been satisfied with the work delivered.  The quality is excellent and Bob and his team are all really nice people.  We will continue to work with Bob on any home projects.  Our projects included adding a wall and a door on the interior, and new stairs, railing and door on the exterior.

Day one our old porch was gone. Day two poured pilings and framed deck. Day 3- finished almost all of the decking. (even left some wood out over the frame so our dog could still go out the back door). Day 4 finished decking and put up railings. Day 5-installed corner steps. Jess and Pete fixed problems that were noticed but just covered up by a previous contractor (All Season siding) like some rot under our sliding door as well as added flashing which was previously neglected. Jess even fixed our front screen door because it wasn't working properly. We will definitely use them again in the future.
