Recent Review: The overhead light fixture in my home office stopped working suddenly last week.  I replaced the bulbs but no luck so I figured it was a problem with the fixture.  Tried to fix it myself but no luck so I looked on Angie's List and found Melody. Called Monday and the electrician arrived the following day.  He tested the fixture's wires, found no current so thought it might be the switch which he replaced as a test. New switch -> and there was light! Fee was reasonable and they accepted a coupon I printed from their web site. Excellent work!

Recent Review: I scheduled the appointemnt by phone, the call was very fast and efficient, all pertinent info was requested, and I was given an appointment about a week out, which was better than I expected. Chris showed up precisely on time, and was very professional, friendly, and courteous. Heperformed all the work in about three hours time, made sure everything was done to my satisfaction, and left everything clean and orderly. I have no complaints, this is an excellent, reasonable, and professional company to do business with. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

Recent Review: Overall very well. Dave always returned phone calls and made a confirmation call the night before plus called when minutes away from arriving on schedule. Because of our inner wall construction for installation of the new bathroom fan and the odd configuration of how the old existing fan was installed, Dave found out the project was a bit more involved than first anticipated. There was a small increase in price but it was reasonable. Dave pointed out a couple light switches not grounded as they should be and replaced them. Dave gave constant updates. Dave cleaned up well after but I also offered to finish cleaning up a bit. A different company name on his truck made me a bit wary at first. Dave was polite and professional and that made it easier when we had to come up with a Plan B since our house construction and previous work by the previous owner made Dave to make adjustments that made sense. I hate price changes (increases) but again very slight and I felt Dave was fair about it. After having ANOTHER ELECTRICIAN come up and charge me $100 for my error not seeing a fuse trip (thinking a serious problem) and this other electrician charge the full $100 for just flipping a fuse switch, it was good to feel that Dave was being fair. I would call Dave again in the future.

Recent Review: I have nothing but good things to say about Steve. Even though he was fully booked, he made the effort to stop by between appointments to help us out. Steve was efficient, professional, and quickly found the source of the problem. When he traced to the problem to a furnace component, he helpfully referred us to the gas company (he was 100% correct in his assessment of the problem). Steve was a pleasure to work with, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

Recent Review: When we initially contacted B&E, we left a message. Within 12 hours we got a phone call back and within a couple of days one of the owners came by, assessed the situation, and gave us an estimate. When we decided to move forward with the project, Bill, one of the owners, e mailed us a contract along with a copy of his insurance certificate and worker comp policy. Very professional and much appreciated. Bill said it would be a month or so before he could get to us, but shortly after we signed the contract he said he could get to us early. ( we were on a very tight deadline to get this room done....Bill understood our urgency). When the work began, Bill appeared at the door with the first team, the sheetrockers. He introduced us and got them settled. Every day they worked, the guys were punctual, polite, and cleaned up at close of work session. When it came to the taping, sanding,,and painting, once again Bill took the time to accompany the new fellow and introduce him. Our taper, sander, painter always kept us apprised of his work schedule, and if he found himself able to come by early in the morning (due to rain out on exterior jobs) he called to make sure it was okay. Our new bedroom is finished, and we are tickled. We are very pleased with B&E's' workmanship, professionalism, and price. We will make them our "go to guys" for future projects!

Recent Review: I first used 480 Electric about a year and a half ago in a house that was leased at the time.  The tenants called me late in the afternoon one Friday, probably around 4;00 to say the house was on fire.  It turned out to be a small electrical fire in one of the bathrooms that was likely caused by old wiring or because plugs were pulled from the outlet by the cord vs. the plug, causing the wires in the wall to break and spark.  By the time I got to the house, the fire department had put out the fire and were gone. but they had turned off all the power until a licensed electrician could look at it and say it was safe to restore the power.  I contacted my insurance agent to report the damage and also asked if he could recommend an electrical.  I am so fortunate that he referred me to Jerry Pratt, the owner of 480 Electirc.  I contacted Jerry and he agreed to stop by the house on his way home from a conference he'd been attending in Orange County.  Even though it was late and he was stuck in heavy traffic, he stopped as promised, checked the wiring and restored the power the same night - even though he had to work by flashlight most of the time.  I later needed to replace a breaker because another electrician had installed one with the wrong wattage to support our AC unit.  Because the AC company had charged us a service fee to tell us the breaker needed to be replaced, Jerry charged us only for a service call.  Most recently I had to have a light switch replaced because the wrong kind had been installed initially.  In all three instances, Jerry arrived on time each time, completed the work quickly and cleaned up the work area so there was no evidence he'd ever been there.  He is the epitome of professionalism.  I will NEVER use another electrician as long as Jerry is in business in this area/

Recent Review: Even Worse - one week later, after the first significant rain, I had a huge puddle of water under my brand new service box.  I called Green Mountain Power because I refused to let S T Electric back on my property after my nightmare experience.  GMP informed me that the weather head was installed incorrectly (too high above the service cable) and that water easily entered from the side.  My meter box had water, my service cable had water, my breaker box had water.  This after spending thousands to fix this (supposed) very problem.  I had to spend hundreds more hiring a competant electrician to rectify the problem. In 14 years of home ownership, I have never encountered a more untrustworthy and unscrupulous tradesman. Avoid your own personal nightmare and avoid S T Electric at all costs !
