Recent Review: The floors look great. A couple of repairs/replaced boards also look great. They missed some details putting closet boards (for shoes) back in place but no big deal. If I had reminded them they would have done it. I would certainly bring them back for another job. The cost was ~20% lower than what was quoted by the bigger name floor companies around town.

Recent Review: Messner Carpet provided us with a prompt written estimate with details about the work to be done (unlike their competitor who we also consulted). They were organized and professional in all of our dealings with them. We had good communication before the scheduled installation date, and everything proceeded as planned. The workmen were pleasant, seemed to do a good job, and cleaned up well after themselves.

Recent Review: I cannot say enough about the comprehensive service Terry and his staff provided us. They were knowledgeable about helping us choose the appropriate floor, patient with us as we took time deciding on color and considerate of our need to have the work done as soon as possible. We had recently moved into this home and were living with no furniture as we went through the process of choosing new flooring. The installers under Terry's direction work directly for Struck and are not subcontractors, something that was important to us. Everyone was very courteous and professional and we could not be happier with our new flooring. The cost was considerably less than we had anticipated for such a top notch job.

Recent Review: This went well. Messner has three service locations. We used the Pittsford branch. Two days after we requested an estimate, the vendor promptly appeared to measure. My brother selected the replacement flooring in the showroom. Installation occurred in two phases: first, the front entrance, downstairs half bath, and kitchen (same design pattern); then, the den (a different pattern). Each day, the installers arrived around 8:15 AM and worked without break until between 1:30 and 2 PM. They encountered no issues. The results are beautiful! The one issue we encountered: the vendor doesn't remove the construction debris. We contracted for a dumpster ($500) to accommodate that.

Recent Review: Bill's Carpet worked for me. Had the pleasure of working with the manager Dave. The options were endless and they were able to order and install within my tight time constraints of leaving a rental and closing on my first home. I plan to do more upgrades on flooring. I will be contacting Dave at Bill's!

Recent Review: Rob was hired by Fitch Construction to install our vinyl flooring.  When we met with Rob on 11/29/13 he said it wouldn't take long to have the floor installed.  This was a whole different story once we found out the floor had never actually been ordered. After waiting for more than 3 weeks, the floor was finally delivered on 12/31/13.  Due to delays (the holiday, Rob & Fitch having problems and "tricky"weather), he finally delivered the luan on 1/3/14. Install was to originally begin on the 3rd but because of the weather was delayed until 1/6/14. Work started on 1/6 and continued into 1/7 and 1/8. They seemed to rush through on the 7th & 8th as they had other jobs that they were working on. On the morning of 1/8 my husband pointed out the fact that the luan was showing through the vinyl. Rob said he would fix that. Proceeded to take a metal roller over the floor leaving parts of it looking shiny and not fixing the problem with the luan. When that didn't work,  he told us it was a defect in our floor per the manufacturer.  They had only anticipated on being at my house for a couple of hours on the 8th. Turned out they were there until 1:30 PM.  After leaving on the 8th, we noticed that the luan was still showing through the vinyl. Not just in one spot but throughout the kitchen. There were pieces of molding they didn't replace properly or even bother attaching to the wall.  Several spots of the floor that were not cut right and the pattern didn't line up. And had reinstalled our island incorrectly. We contacted Fitch the next day. Rob had then spoken to my husband and said that he would come over on 1/12/14 to fix the items. He never called, never showed up and when my husband tried to reach him, he never returned his phone calls. We've had several other contractors come in and tell us that the floor looks atrocious. We've since had to have another contractor re-do our floor. I feel that the financial issues Rob & Fitch were having directly affected the quality of our project. This in no way should have affected how our floor was installed. Rob told my husband several times he was threatening Fitch, telling them he was going to walk out on the job. Not professional at all. If the problems with Fitch were that bad, then he should have not accepted the job. And you should never involved the customer. This was a project that should have been done in about 2-3 days. From beginning to end it took almost 2 months. This is in response to VanCott's response: We had several other people come in to look at the floor and we were told the job was not done properly. We also have pictures to show how the luan was showing through and how in several places the pattern did not line up. The installation of our door was done in the timeframe we were given and was also done properly. They were not the reason for our floor being damaged. That was a whole separate issue. The joists in our house do line up.  It was not a structural problem causing the luan to show through. The person who finally did properly install our floor used the same products and there isn't a single issue. I find it interesting here that now you say the joists were the problem but the day after installation told us that it was a known manufacturer defect with the flooring. Yes, Fitch did try to sue you for the cost of the vinyl. And the reason they lost was because your counter-sued. I also have the paperwork. The things that happened during this project were unbelievable. I couldn't make this stuff up. For anyone searching for a flooring person, definitely look at the references. I wish I had. Take the time to research the people doing the work. I joined Angie's for this purpose. Warning people and making sure nobody else has to go through what we went through.

AAll Around Home Improvement
Once again Joe Burkhart and his crew did the impossible. My wife wanted a new floor before my son and family visited on the fourth of July. I told her that it most likely would not happen on such short notice. As usual I was wrong, I called Joe and he said no problem. I picked out the flooring at Warrens in Webster got a fantastic deal and the rest is history. Start to stop in one day, they even were able to save the thresholds (From my 1880 house). The fit and finish was perfect. They even stayed longer to allow me to get one piece of molding I wanted to have installed. My dogs love Joe and his crew and that is most important to me. Dogs know good people and Joe and Crew are it. We were so happy we invited them to join us for pizza and wings. That worked out well because we planned the next job in the fall for the master bedroom. If you want to see Joe's work let me know. I will show you. Call them! What’s the hold up? My old carpet was pulled out and new laminate was installed. The laminate looks great and was installed with lots of knowledge about how to do it without buckling. When we needed to build up the laminate height near the tile they did so in a gradual transition using the underwent padding to make it seamless. I am so glad they did my work for both quality and cost! I recommend them highly. Good people.

Jim and James were fantastic and I cannot recommend them highly enough. They spent five days ripping out every stitch of carpeting in my home and replacing it with Pergo Outlast flooring. They were friendly, prompt, and efficient. James in particular took extra care to make sure no staples or nails were exposed at any time that might injure our cats, which I appreciated as a pet owner. They cleaned thoroughly at the end of each day and left everything neat and orderly, and the end result is gorgeous with high attention to detail. I will definitely hire Adam Solutions for other work around our home.

The E flooring sales men was very friendly and professional.  However the work was sublet out, and the installers were not that great.  They left a huge mess, they took chunks out of my wall and offered to fix it with calk.  They also scratched up my kitchen cabinets.  They did not offer to pick up any of the mess from the scrapes or anything.  They were at my house from 9am till 8pm, so i couldnt clean anything up that day and i have 2 small children that i had to find something to do all day.  After the work was all done we never heard from E flooring to check and see if we were satisfied with the job.  Overall the floors look great but pretty disappointed that there was no follow up. update 06/01/12 - After reading the response from the owner, i feel i may have come across that I was not happy with the work.  I am extremly happy with how the floors turned out.  I was just frustrated and disappointed the the owner who had come out and done the meaurements and estimate would not call and follow up.  He told me that he would call and follow up with me, and sense his response below (were he stated he would make it a priority to follow up with the customer) i still have not heard from him.  I did not ask for work to be done for FREE, he offered and i said that he did not have to do that, i said i did not mind the squeeky floors. I appreciate that he did that for me, but that doesnt mean that i should just forget about the items that were damaged.  I also dont feel that is relevent to the issue at hand. I guess i didn't realize it was my responsibility to contact the owner to go over the job, i guess i am used to the owners or companies reaching out and asking how the job went.  Again i want to state that i am extremly happy with how the floors turned out!!

AFloor Coverings International
My original quote for the price of the laminate, vinyl, and hardwoods was $4000.00. It did not end up that way. They added another $800.00 for the install of vinyl because they said they forgot to enter the price of a subfloor. Then they added another 400.00 to the refinishing of the hardwoods because they said they forgot to add the shoe moldings. So, it ended costing me more than  thought it wood. The job was supposed to take three days, but ended up taking a week due to plumbing issues in the bathroom that they installed vinyl in. They removed the toilet then tried to put it back after removing and reinstalling new subfloor. The toilet didn't go back due to flange issues. They called in another subcontractor and he spent two days fixing the problem and did an excellent job. .I also had to purchase a new toilet at an additional cost of $200. My hardwoods turned out great except for the dust they tried to contain by closing doors. That doesn't work too well. The laminate thy installed in my daughter's room looks very nice.

Great choice of laminates. It took about a week to get the flooring in stock. After setting up the start date, the installer asked to move it a day.  Two installers showed up, Rick and Glen. Make sure to ask for them. Rick especially is almost an artist. He worked the product so that there were only 3 full boards left. All 3 transitions were quite unique, not solved by the usual boards. They were finished so that a wheelchair can roll over them smoothly. Highly recommended.
