Recent Review: Our experience with Landscapes East was first rate from start to finish.  We couldn't be more pleased with the final result and recommend this company highly. We researched several landscaping companies before settling on Landscapes East.  We met with Paul to discuss the project because we liked the examples we saw on their website.  He was both friendly and professional as he asked a lot of questions about what we wanted to do and the look we wanted to achieve. After our time sitting around the kitchen table he spent over an hour measuring out the site, making notes and taking pictures.  A few days late Paul returned with a proposal.  His plan very well captured what we were looking for. I liked the fact that he was flexible and proposed several options depending on our budget.  We decided to focus on the stone wall, patio, steps, pergola and landscape lighting and to forgo redoing the landscaping for now. Paul gave us an estimated start date (that turned out to be accurate) a couple of months off.  We communicated by email a couple of times in the interim to refine the plans.  A week or so before the work started he called to confirm the start date.  Tom and Charlie were the crew on this job.  I don't know how many other folks work for Paul, but you won't go wrong if you get these fellows.  They're multi-talented, hardworking craftsmen whose skills are magnified by the quality of the equipment they have available.  On our relatively small job (an entrance way) they delivered the field stone, crusher-run gravel, sand, river stone and steps using a dump truck towing the front end loader and skidder they used. In the first day they completed the basic excavation, placed the geotextile and first layer of gravel for the patio base and, most impressive to me, completed the extension of the dry lay wall.  This was impressive to me for a couple of reasons.   First, I've built some dry lay walls myself (including the one they were completing) so I have a keen appreciation of the work involved. It would have taken me a couple of weeks to do what he did in one day. Secondly, they blended the new work in perfectly - you can't tell where the old wall ends and the completion wall begins.  Tom accomplished this by starting with stone that was a good match, then disassembling part of the old wall before rebuilding it interspersing stones from the old wall with the new. Their attention to detail was exceptional.  For example they used a laser transit to pitch the patio, heavily compacting each layer as they laid it down.  The power compactor they used is another example of the quality equipment they bring to bear.  I've seen professions tamp a base using a hand-tamper.  It's an accepted practice for light-scale jobs.  The next step up is the type of power compactor you might get from a rental place.  They're very effective, and in fact Tom and Charlie had one of those to do compacting in areas where they needed to be more mobile.  For the patio, they used a massive power compactor.  4 strong men couldn't lift it (the guys used the front end loader to get it on and off the truck).  When they first fired it up, I was sitting in a chair on the other side of the house and could feel the vibration.  I'm extremely confident the patio isn't going to shift anytime soon. I could go on at length, but I think you get the idea.  The design met our specifications, the project started as promised, the workers were friendly, professional, hard-working and meticulous, the job site was kept neat and the final project was even better than we hoped it would be.

Reviews in Hannibal for Installing Outdoor Lighting

APalmer Electric Inc
I was extremely pleased with the work Jason did.  I had a number of electrical items I wanted addressed and found Jason to be very informative and honest.  I also wanted to add a motion sensor light in the garage and questioned the placement of a couple of GFI outlets within the home.  He provided me with both the pros and cons of each and as a result, I didn't have the additional work done.  I felt this was extremely honest of him, since I was none the wiser and quite frankly he could have just as easily made the changes that would not have concluded with the results I had wanted.  While working on the other issues, he explained what the problems were and explained how he was going to correct them.  I found him to be very efficient, capable and professional.  During the course of repairing everyting, he had to leave the premises to obtain additiaonal parts.  When I received the invoice I carefully reviewed the labor hours and Jason carefully noted the time he didn't work (i.e. when he was off premises) and didn't "pad" his hours for the time he was away.   The price was more than I expected, but to be fair, Palmer Electric offered to come out and provide an estimate in advance of the services being rendered.  They also offered to have the service provider give me an estimate prior to starting work on the date of the service, both of which I declined because I needed to have the work done regardless. I would definitely recommend them and re-enlist their services as required.

We had O'Tooles install eight recessed lights and two pendants in our kitchen. Throughout every stage of the project Butch and his team were punctual, professional, and detail oriented. The work was done for the price quoted, and our new lights look great!

All the work was done promptly and very well. The project took less time than I expected as Vince was able to bring guys over for half days as work on his other projects allowed. There were between 2 and 6 people at my house every day and all were friendly and polite. Vince and his crew are always willing to help with little things in addition to the work they are doing - one day I had to be away from the house for longer than usual and they offered to let my dog out so I didn't have to have someone else come over and take care of her. This is my third project with Modern Home Contractors, and I will definitely be hiring them again.

Fair half hourly rate, but make sure you have supplies on hand because gfci outlet cost me twice as much as if I had bought it at Lowes. Also, light fixture was missing a part and since originally I was going to have him install two, I left him with the list above only to come back to him sitting in his truck without the gfci outlet installed.

Excellent! Very trustworthy and dependable. We have known him for years and he has the experience and expertise to get the job done. He will not rip you off and will let you know exactly what needs to be done and do it. I just bought a new home which needed several electrical issues addressed and he was able to take care of everything and even more. You will not be disappointed.

It went better than I expected. Of course there were hiccups as there always is with remodeling, but Patrick and Mark went above and beyond for everything and there was nothing they did not find a way to get the work done and in some cases better than the plan we were following.
