Recent Review: After we signed a contract to replace my simple ranch style roof he was hard to get ahold of. So after a few months of attempts to schedule the job a small crew finally shows up and does a poor quality job. Exposed nail heads, leak prone chalking, ridge vent not properly installed, attempted to reuse the old drip edge until I spotted it, not properly repairing roof deck holes, wrong ridge vent was installed and had to be torn off and a better design installed, the furnace vent pipe was replaced with an out of code type which had to be torn off and replaced, the original two 6" diameter roof vents were removed and only papered over before the new shingles were laid, only laid 3 feet of ice guard instead of the 6 feet as part of the contract, nails everywhere around the house specially in gutters, no flashing installed around decorative stone fireplace chimney. After the job was completed before I paid the contractor the balance I showed him the areas I need repaired. He promptly came to fix the issues. But within a week after the final visit a rain storm came through the area. The roof leaked liked chalk was never applied around my fireplace chimney. I had plastic sheeting and buckets all around the chimney in the attic to stop it from damaging my ceiling. After the storm passed I inspected the chimney chalk work. There were hidden holes because the of method the worker applying the chalk used. Pushing and pulling back of the chalk gun and not smoothing out the bead afterwards. I attempted to contact the contractor immediately after the storm and left voice messages/text messages but did not receive a response for weeks. Finally we spoke and he promised to fix the repair in a few days. He never showed. After many more weeks of promise dates unmet I called another contractor to fix the chimney. Later in small claims court I found out he sub contracted the whole job to another contractor. He was losing money on the multiple visits for fixes and materials to fix their mistakes.
