Recent Review: We have hired this contractor multiple times and have always been thoroughly satisfied with his work. This contractor is efficient, friendly, reasonably priced, has a good eye for detail and offers professional suggestions and creative ideas. We would not hesitate to use him again. Excellent work at a fair price.
It worked out great and they are wonderful. They were great to work with from beginning to end and the foreman was here almost every day and they are very professional.

very good workmanship, removed existing vanity and sinks and replaced with new pre-purchases vanity, faucets. Ran new plumbing. They even put up all of the accessories with the new vanity including mirrors, towel bars, hutch, etc. Would recommend highly and will be doing business with again in the future.

The company owner, John, came to my house and proceeded to tell me what he was going to do in my bathroom. Everything that I wanted was too expensive. Keep in mind this is a very small bathroom there is barely room for a shower, toilet, sink & we were talking about spending more than $11,000. He obviously was pushing the cheapest materials on me(like a cheesy vanity with a FORMICA top) & intended to charge me top dollar. Probably stuff he already had lying around & was trying to get rid of. After we talked about the project for a while John sat down & came up with an estimate. He gave me an estimate of an estimate & it was above $11,000. I don't remember the exact number as this was over a year ago. Then he asked for a $100 deposit for a detailed estimate & a computer drawing (auto-cad it was not), refundable if I accepted the bid. I should have backed out here but I am(was) a sucker. My wife & I later accepted them to do the work. I did all the demo & rubbish removal myself. Then I went & chose the things that I wanted (the toilet, sink faucets etc.) on-line & asked Crown to use those items for the job. I know these items didn't cost more than maybe 2000 dollars because I picked them out but they are good quality products from Kohler and Moen. The shower that they picked out for me, a three piece fiberglass unit, maybe another 300-500 dollars. Of course they were so busy that they scheduled the job to start like 3 months later right around Christmas time. Anyway December comes along and they send one guy to do all the work. This guy was a complete hack. This job that they told me might take about two weeks ended up taking two months and the work is piss poor. I think the guy was high most of the time and he spent a lot of time hanging out with the neighbor who also works for Crown Construction instead of getting any work done. This guy (the foreman), obviously had no plan and limited skills. He had to re-frame part of the shower because of poor planning and then tried to charge me extra to fix his mistake. He wired outlets wrong and I just fixed that myself. That's when I discovered that the outlets weren't anchored solidly in the wall and they were pushed in. The guy actually tried to stick the outlets in place with joint compound I made him fix that (not very well). Then he forgot to wire the mandatory smoke alarm so I had to help him do that. All the while he is saying that none of these mistakes are his fault. IT'S HIS JOB I'M PAYING MORE THAN $11,000 for this crap work. The list goes on and on about this guy. Then there is the plumber who kept coming in and out and complaining about he has other jobs to do. He spent more time on the phone than ever getting anything done. Anyway he sent his nephews or sons or whatever to do the work and when they were done the shower head is way off center and a slide bar they installed keeps falling apart. It was just an endless nightmare I am angry every time I go in the bathroom. Do not hire Crown.

ARocky's Home Improvement - Kitchen Specialist !
The work started on August 13 and finished on August 27.The estimate and timeframe to perform the work was exactly as expected.Rocco's experience was evident as there are always things that come up doing a remodel that must be worked around.(e.g. walls that are not true, counters that are not level, using existing fixtures). The kitchen turned out better than we expected. We are hoping we can do business with Rocky's Home improvement on our Master bathroom upgrade. We couldn't be any happier.

Joel was lovely, savy, knowledgeable. I was extremely patient with his "workers" and him. One of his workers stole $140 out of my wallet from my purse on my bed. I have the ATM withdrawal receipt from that morning. I didn't report it because I felt sorry for the kid. It was also found that said worker was in trouble for stealing from his girlfriend's grandmother. That's when Joel believed me. He doubted me up to that point. His workers were roofers and admittedly had never done home remodeling. It showed. Because of the damage to my home and the threat to my pets (he left my gate open and dog escaped, 2 indoor cats fell through a screen not placed properly - FINALLY retrieved}. He did not finish on the date that he promised. He graciously removed the remaining balance of $1400 (questionable as I peruse the invoice). When I confronted him recently when I found out that my plumbing was not up to code, he resent the balance of the invoice to me (not showing that he waived that amount) and threatened to put a lien against my home and sue me for slander. I've not said a word to anyone because I'm scared to death. I'm trying to reach Angie's List. I've been unsuccessful. They recommended him. The next person may not be as strong as me. His work is horrible. I have pictures.

FEttel Restoration and Remodeling
Bathroom remodel project was fully paid for in the spring of 2010, but only partially completed. Quality of initial work very good, so much so that I recommended him to friends for his services. However, as work progressed - and note that he was paid up front - it became increasingly shoddy, and finally stopped altogether, with significant missing components. Never completed despite multiple time extensions, polite requests and very specific directives. See pix. Bathroom was left extremely dirty.

DEWS PROPERTY MAINTENANCE
We hired Ed in April 2008 for a bathroom remodel that he estimated would take two weeks. Three weeks into the job, Ed's health declined and we offered to end the job. We offered to settle the contract to reflect the work that was done as well as the work that was not done. He declined our offer and promised that he would come to complete the job. After mid May, he was never back at our house. By the third week in June, we had given him ample opportunity to finish the job before turning the matter over to small claims court. He simply refused to return. He left us with a totally unusable bathroom; no vanity, no sink, no toilet, no flooring and no exhaust fan. A new tub was in place, but not fully installed. To this day, Ed continues to advertise for new business so I can only assume that his health has improved.
