Recent Review: This included pumping out the remaining oil, opening the top of the tank, scraping and cleaning the tank bottom, and checking for any possibility of oil having previously leaked into the ground. The tank was then filled with gravel and the top soil smoothed over the area to hide any trace of the work.

Recent Review: We have an underground oil tank, and I've heard horror stories over the years about what can happen when they leak. I found out that homeowners can purchase insurance to cover the costs of an oil leak, but first, of course, the oil tank or soil must be inspected by an approved testing company. When I first called Brian at Eco Logic, he told me about the less expensive and less invasive testing procedure, in which the tank is tested using sophisticated acoustic equipment. Brian (who is very knowledgeable) put my mind at ease about the test, and the technician (Tom) was prompt, professional, and pleasant. He knew I was anxious, and gave me the results as soon as the testing was completed. (The results were favorable.) I highly recommend Eco Logic. They do everything they can to make a difficult process as painless as possible.

Recent Review: When my prior company left me with an empty tank, Skaggs came the day I called, filled the tank and checked the boiler.  Since then they have been filling the tank on a regular basis.  The customer service is wonderful  I had some questions about the bills and the people I spoke with were very helpful.

Recent Review: My oil tank was destroyed after super storm Sandy.  A-1 tank removal and intallation was aware of the urgency of restoring heating to damaged homes.  I called the owner and he came by quickly and gave me an estimate.  The estimate was fair and the work was done professionally and clean two days later.  I will use again.

Recent Review: Had the oil tank in my basement replaced. They put down blankets and tarps to avoid damaging floors when wheeling in new tank.  They saved the oil in my old tank, pumping it out to a tank in their truck, and later pumped it back into new tank. Old tank was cut up into pieces and carried out by hand.  Workers were experienced and explained what they were doing. I took about 3 hours and went smoothly.   I gave a B on the price only because I didn't get enough estimates to be sure that this was the absolute best price.

Recent Review: Chris and Bob do great work. They were patient and extremely helpful in explaining the whole process and helping us get through the installation and inspection. When we wanted them to move a pipe from where they installed it, they came by the next day to move it to our satisfaction.

Recent Review: I contacted the office and left a message.  A sales manager returned my call within the hour.  I explained over the phone what the project entailed.  I received a verbal estimate over the phone, followed with a written estimate 2-3 days later.  The company submitted the paperwork to the Building Department in order to obtain a "building permit" which is required by my town, and arranged for a town fire inspector to inspect the work in order to obtain a new Certificate of Occupancy. On the day of the job, the workers showed up at the scheduled time.  They put down absorbent pads throughout, and were extremely clean while performing the work.  They pumped out the left over sludge from the tank (my oil company had previously drained the excess oil from the tank), cut the tank into pieces, and removed it from the premises. Very satisfied with the work performed.  I would definitely use them again!!

It was wonderful. They were punctual and the service was excellent over all. I signed up with them to buy oil from them.

Great. The scan done by the buyer indicated 2 areas. One was indicated as a 500 gallon oil tank previously abandoned. The other area was much smaller. We assumed it was a small piece of metal or a tool. Oil tank turned out to be 1500 gallons and the other item was a crushed old water tank. They didn't charge me that much more due to the size of the oil tank and charged me a small fee for the water tank. I knew possible costs upfront.

The entire process would have been completed in one day except for the town inspector's schedule. Instead the tank was removed from ground in one morning, and then the hole was filled and tank removed from the property the next morning after the inspector had confirmed that there were no leaks from the tank. Sidewalks were protected and a couple indentations in lawn left by backhoe treads were filled in with soil. There was no damage to shrubs and trees that were near the tank.

We have had a renewable yearly contract for oil delivery and service with Burke Heat for over 8 years and have had a great experience with them. My favorite sales guy, Jeff Rundle, has always been incredibly polite and helpful. We have an older system, and Burke has come to repair it numerous times over the years, sometimes in emergency situations, and we have NOT had to wait or pay extra. I've also had technicians give me advice, and one even helped me fix up a duct that needed to be secured. I've also always found Burke to be extremely ethical and understanding. Numerous times when we have had large oil bills, they have allowed us to break them into payments and pay them off over a number of months. We have always negotiated a contract with a ceiling price and they ALWAYS honor their agreement. We have, more than once, gotten very cheap deliveries after the prices have gone up. Granted, they may not have the cheapest prices around -- but their service is impeccable. We just had Burke Heat remove a 550-gallon buried oil tank and install and new 330-gallon one above ground in our basement. They were competitively priced and did an excellent job on both counts. The only hitch was that the removal was delayed a week or so because Burke was having a challenge repairing a special, very expensive truck they own that allows them to suck out the oil remaining in the old buried tank and give you credit for it (i.e. refund money). On the other hand, no other excavating company that I know of offers this service of refunding you for the oil left in the old tank. As mentioned, we already had an oil delivery and service contract with Burke, but compared their install price to another major oil company. Burke came in only a hundred or so dollars higher, but also had a crew to remove the old tank. The other company would have required us to research and hire our own removal. We liked the safety net of having Burke do both jobs and they did not disappoint. 1) The new tank was installed with a first-rate crew that was competent and polite and helpful. Acting in our interest, they advised us to change our plans about where we put the new tank. And I am so glad they did -- it's in a safer and wiser spot. ($2,700) 2) The old tank was taken out in one morning and their foreman, Walter, did a fantastic job of digging it out very tight quarters next to our house and surrounded by landscaping. Kudos! ($2,000) 3) We were refunded $1,292 for the oil left in our old tank.) I am so pleased we have used Burke for our oil furnace needs and would whole-heartedly recommend them to anyone.

Salesman was sleazy. They sub out the excavation. Their pricing was terrible (use tank masters instead). They wanted to match prices until the time it came to do so and then they weren't interested in doing so. Note, this report is only about their tank installation and removal service. We had used them for fuel and burner service for 40+ years. They seem to do a good job on that, though I cannot speak to their prices.

They had to remove an old oil tank, remove it from the site, dig a bigger hole and put a new tank in.  Then run lines from tank through cement walls to boiler.
